shaper, I'm reading the Daniel black books for the fourth time now and I'm wondering something. when Hecate isekaid Daniel, did he leave behind a physical corpse for the hospital staff to find? what I read seemed to say that his body disappeared as well but if he wanted to fake his death and leave a corpse behind, would Hecate be able to create a new body for him?

Nah, she just grabbed his body and healed it when she summoned him. That's a lot less trouble than making a whole new body. As for body swapping trickery, yes, she could pull of things like that if she wanted to. But she'd be doing it with ritual magic through her aspects, which is the kind of thing gods like Odin are familiar with. So there's no guarantee it would actually work out.

but she could create a brain-dead clone of his body right when she approached him? is that within her power or does the nature of Daniel's home reality limit her power somehow? Also, according to the original deal, if Daniel is successful in protecting cerise for however long was agreed, did that mean Daniel had the option to go back home with his powers or will his home reality nerf it somehow?

I've intentionally left the limits of divine power vague, and said even less about why Daniel's world doesn't seem to have magic. But nothing was ever said about sending Daniel home. Hecate doesn't want to risk multiple trips to another Earth, and Daniel wasn't especially interested in going back anyway.

But whenever I go really fast in reading a bunch of phrases, my mind just doesn't have enough time to imagine the scene. It's good for skimming, but I can't even imagine getting any enjoyment out of a story without being able to imagine at least the visuals and audio of a scene.

Yesh I used to read really fast when I read Chinese webnovels. About 150k words a day 😆 maybe 300k if I wasn't also writing a few chapters a day.
