Laptop may be reaching the end of its lifespan.

If so, it's been like ten years, so not surprising... but I agonize over having to spend money on things like a dollar store coffee maker or new headphones.

Okay, quick check confirmed that the new mouse and the old mouse both work as well as they previous did in his set-up. Just not in mine. Whoopee.

So that means I do have to start looking into replacement options. As well as how to pay for those replacement options.

Nice. And to be fair with how that laptop was ~/~ 10 years? Probably more than old enough to not be 'fit' for the upcoming Windows 11 'update', that'd be mandatory by October time? So, hindsight is 20/20, on bailing out on a later/worse pressure, there...
