They come up in the Loki series. They prevent the growth of the marvel multiverse and keep it to the single sacred timeline by detecting changes and pruning new timelines. They police all of space and time fighting gods, wizards and celestials. They literally use infinity stones as paperweights.

Isn't that straight from the comic? The stones only work in their own universe; when they're outside of their own universe, they lose their power.

the stones are paperweight to them cause they do not sit in the reality of the respective set of stones meaning the stones just have no power their.
