Since it's come up several times, we're issuing an official clarification on QQ's policy on AI-generated writing and images.
QQ has no rule against the use of AI tools, or posting the outputs from those tools. However, users are still responsible for ensuring that everything they post follows all the rules of QQ. Using an AI is not an excuse for violating rules. In particular, spammy behavior will still be punished (usually under Rule 1), whether an AI is used or not.
It is generally considered polite to disclose explicitly whether AI is used in writing a story. This is not a formal rule, but it may cause people to dislike you if you don't.
Discussion of AI tools, including criticism, is allowed. All such discussion is still subject to the other rules of QQ. In particular, you are not allowed to harass people over using AI; like any other harassment, this is a violation of Rule 1.
One specific ruling regarding AI-generated images: we do not allow any images that depict people who appear to be under 18, in any sexually explicit context, in a "photorealistic" style. These images are too difficult to distinguish from content that is illegal to post, so we don't allow any of them.
This is not a change in the rules; these rules are the ones we have been using since the question first arose. However, we haven't previously made them all explicit anywhere.
