Fanon :If Salem was sealed to her castle and the whale was a work around with Oz Cane blast freeing her she'd be more interesting

Canon:
Salem was severely depressed after the death of her children.
Oz spent literal life times drinking himself to death so she must have done something similar.
She fears a united humanity and knows what there capable of when properly motivated and while they can't kill her they could potentially capture her and torture her endlessly.
Interesting thought though is that if this is true it means that Salem actually has more faith in humanity then Ozma.
Which when you think about it actually makes sense considering she rallied the first generation of humanity against the Gods.
Meanwhile Ozma spends all of his time around them and sees how petty and hateful there are towards one another so he has probably lost faith in them especially after the Great War.

So let's assume that drunk hermit OZ picks somewhere secluded to live, angrily chases people off, and has a bit of a weird accident caused by the constant alcohol poisoning.

Now let's say all this got passed down as a story.

It's got me laughing because I'm picturing Oz telling the story of meeting the original maidens and he's framing it like a sweet and noble thing.

When the reality was a half mad and drunk Forrest man with no pants screaming at some very confused and concerned teenagers.

Despite being a born and bred Atlas native Dexter Watts hated the cold.

Well it wasn't very cold in Atlas right now. What with about a quarter of it being on fire.

Dexter lit up a cigar while he watched his home burn from the top of the biggest building still standing in Atlas.

His father always hated cigars and cigarettes. It made the drag of nicotine hit all the sweeter.

"Come to sit with me cousin?"

She always knew where to find him. In the entire world nobody knew him better than her.

He hopes he won't have to kill her.

Dexter thought about if he should tell her. His father being a traitor to humanity and working with that pathetic creature Salem, and for what? A ego stroke?

He thought about Atlas and Vale being just as bad. Assassinations and lives ruined just for the tiniest advantage against Salem. People enslaved just to keep the dust flowing.

Nobody deserves to win. Not like this.
