  • If you think about it, King's power isn't that rare in Chinese novels, or just Chinese stories in general. "Face slapping" is basically having the King Engine roaring in the background all the time
There's also that Akai Shuichi isn't just Miyano Akemi's boyfriend but also her cousin, and he still used her to get into the Black Organization and led to both her and her sister's tragedies, what's up with that guy looking like a young Michael Jackson despite being half Japanese and half white
Why didn't the Black Organization killed Kudo Yusaku and Yukiko afterwards, it doesn't make sense
I've been discovering a music genre called breakcore recently and listened to so much of it that I've given myself an earworm.

It's not even a specific song but my brain blending them all together and cause it remembers them incorrectly it constantly remixes them. It's actually kind of awesome.

I hope it stops at some point, tho.
It would be more interesting if xianxia alchemists acted more like cartel druglords

I mean, like, you know, you'd think Walter White would be a superb alchemist and immortality cultivator
So basically, here, it's not called something stupid like "reverse sexual morality" or whatever other retard label that sprung up from the internet, instead, it's called "Women's Rights". I'm not joking, you can search for the stories that start with "女尊:..." . Of course, the literal translation is "Female Respect", but you know. Still silly, like still not meaning what it means, but very different.
So the reason why Douluo Dalu is called the "sewer gutters of xianxia genre", one reason is because of the trashy (but still better than RWBY) writing, but the main reason is that the MC could kill the peak power level people with gadgets from a middle level wuxia world, as well as the cultivation methods from a second rate sect stolen by the MC in that world are OP and considered cheats in Douluo Dalu
So you know, the Chinese/Taiwanese version of the game is so nice, elegant, and has some big ideals and stuff, and the title is the same, with the same kind of poetic nature, but the moment the title is translated to English, it becomes this shitty "Chinese Paladin: Sword and Fairy" lmao what the fuck is this
Like you know, "ANBU" is used more by the English audience used to the American three letter organizations, but in Japanese and Chinese they're always addressed as "the dark part", but it feels like English readers would get angry and would be hardheaded against that kind of title in a story

部 on its own is really more appropriately translated as 'division' tbh, so even ignoring that it's shortened from 暗殺戦術特殊部隊 in which case 'unit' might be appropriate, 暗部 (ANBU) is still more literally 'shadow division' when translated in a vacuum.

Good point about it being rendered in all upper case to evoke the feeling of an acronym though.
It's like, you know, I think, you could picture an asian Emperor Palpatine going like, you know, "Excellent, something something, dark side, something something, it has begun, something something, Opium War Part Three, something something, complete"
I mean, the short videos do have some titles, but I'm not sure if they correspond with the actual series I'm talking about; comic "囤货时代", web novel "囤货主宰", audio "囤货主宰世界"... and apparently names and original work has been modified hm
So there's this one web novel about the end of the world in ice, and the dude returned from dying once to redo, and made his apartment a shelter, and then the whole setting changed to like a x-men-like thing, where people have superpowers... it's trashy but kinda good, like the overall plot is shit, but you know, the drama is written well... like the gooder x-men stories

In China, "操你妈" is the national phrase, the raised middle finger is the international greeting gesture, and "卧槽" are the words of culture.

So there's a singer named Liang Jingru, who made a song called 'Courage', so there's a meme here that goes like, "Who gave you the courage to do this? Liang Jingru?" whenever someone is like being ostentatious
There is a saying, 'ten years of Taiji can't hurt anyone, one year of Baji will kill everyone', but eh, I don't believe in 'ancient martial arts of the mysterious east'
