Some of us were having a debate on spacebattles about mechanics in the Daniel Black series. Specifically, for conjuration, does it just summon stuff that already exists somewhere in the world, or does it create it, say, from extra-dimensional void-stuff? Or is it something else?

It's honestly my favorite system apocalypse story thus far. The system is great and allows for almost anything, and it's one of the few SA stories where the protagonist(s) actually act like real people instead of caricatures running around doing suicidal nonsense and being rewarded because of plot armor.Just finished rereading Indominable. Hope you go back and finish it some day.

It's been a long time since you provided an update on the 2nd Alice Long Book and that update said you were making good progress. Can you let us know if you are still working on the book and if it will be coming out anytime soon?Not sure if this is cool or not, but since I can't afford to ask via subscribe star atm I was wondering if you had any ideas on a timetable for Daniel 5 or Alice 2? I grabbed your first book Fimbulwinter, and read it non-stop to finish yesterday and today. it was excellent. I then bought the next three and am halfway through the second book. They really are quite good and I tip my hat to you sir. Keep up the good work.You don't see that many character-driven space epics with mostly well thought out plots and tech. Thanks for that! (Got that firefly Wibe of the first book, that cosy feeling, you know)
