    It feels like in Chinese stories characters will always leave their current lover/boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband/etc. when their old "white moonlight" (I guess this is like a 'first love' and a 'crush' and 'unobtained object' combined or something?) appears. Similarly, characters will always leave their lover/etc. if they are their childhood friend, if someone new, more interesting, etc. appears.

    Taking that logic to an extreme, the same can be said for a lot of things, for example a lottery means one person wins the prize, but that doesn't mean the winner "made" everyone else lose, random chance did, and Barry going back in time just rewinds everyone's potential actions, it doesn't erase it entirely.
