Questionable Questing

Pretty good, I was actually about to see how you were doing. Right now, I'm pretty tired. I'm almost done with school and it's starting to pick up a lot. Just lots of testing, were starting our resumes and looking for jobs, and in a couple weeks will be doing interviews.

The school I am has a lot of connections with the HVAC industry and there's a lot of companies that like to hire people right out of this specific school so I'm going to be talking with some of those companies pretty soon.

Question by the way, how many voters at a time do you have? I'm curious so as to compare me and Jackal's quest for expectations of how many people will read a work. Been talking to a friend about our unusual artistic way of doing porn and how most people just want gourmet garbage. Your Cambarain's and Cptntagon's of fap bait

Cambarain I know has been branching out and trying to do more depthful writing with original works with his smut and Cptn tagon has skills in prose and plot set up like in Reprogramming, I'm not arguing their shitty writers. What they have is shitty focus and hey, it pays the bills so no complaint. I won't besmirch someone's job

They don't make masterful works or try to. But they do get lots of responses, except most often those responses aren't engagement with the work. Its this fetish is nice or porn memes or other low hanging fruit. Not the good stuff, the character attachment and interest in the setting. Me and Jackal like making a good story and having sex be part of it, very depraved and ruinously lewd sex

And in that having politics and worldbuilding and fantasy magic thinking. It gives me and him context, meat to the bones of the thing to work with. Pure smut becomes dross spun out without thought or emotion. Random shit thrown at a wall

The amount of Voter's I get kind of fluctuates a little bit. I have I would say about eight or ten people who consistently vote every single time on every single update, but I also have another eight or ten people who consistently vote about half the time, and then sometimes I get up to six other people who randomly vote.

So on a good day I can get up to twenty or thirty votes, but I don't usually get that many. Usually I get around fifteen.

I like to think I'm pretty consistent about writing at least one chapter around three thousand words per week, but obviously I get busy or tired, or have some stuff going on so I occasionally skip a week. Why that's important is I notice that if I'm pumping out more chapter's, like when I have a holiday off school and have more free time, I get more voters and likes and stuff.

That confirms thoughts I've had. We have a few select voters who stick around, and slowly over time we cultivate a voter base from the previous quest we did that transferred over and forms up slowly over time into a audience. Part of the reason we do Interludes, besides the entertainment of exploring other characters and parts of the world, is how they keep the Quest on the recently updated page.

As for Cambarain and Cptn tagon, I don't dislike them for making money. If I could pump out low effort smut for thousands of dollars a month, I would totally fucking do it. But I'm not going to lie, its a little demoralizing when they publish something and get hundreds of likes when none of my quest updates have even cracked a hundred yet.

I've thought about how they don't get responsive replies. Their work isn't interacted with, its observed and used without attachment made. A like is a confirmation someone liked the random sex. And I think about the mental logistics required to swing out pure raw porn. Day after day. Its more like an office job with a little bit of titillation yet still no spark.

I'm sure those two have fun with their writing in some way, but there are limits to what satisfaction can be gained
