Pretty good. pretty tired. I'm VFD certified. YEAY! All it took was eight hours of sitting in a classroom and listening to an electrical engineer explain motors over a zoom call. And while I appreciate all the work that engineers do, they sure do love to use very big words when explaining things.

He couldn't just say ac motor, he had to say induction motor. He couldn't say VFD like a normal person, he had to say variable frequency drive. He couldn't say ac current he had to say sinusoidal waveform. Just, the guy knew his shit and was obviously a very smart guy, but god i just wish engineers could talk like a normal person sometimes.

But I did it. I'm certified. That's all that matters. The only certifications I have left are NATE which is all online and OSHA which will be a ten hour lecture spread out over two days. And then five more weeks of school in between that and I'm done.

Engineer's love their Jargon, its apart of the business. if your ever getting work done on your house or your car and you want the guy to explain what he's doing, the tradesmen will probably have less information on what their doing than the Engineer, but you'll actually be able to understand the tradesmen.
