I usually ship Jaune and Velvet, something about a dommy mommy Velvet and Pyrrah working together to tease their subby husband, and yet on the outside the two are stuttering nervous wrecks around him. But this stuff with Cardin sounds really funny.

Killing intent like from Naruto should definitely be a thing. Maybe curses? Were if you have enough people flow darker emotions like hate or lust into an object you can get it to have special effects, basically the inverse of how some families have heirlooms from generations of heroes putting their hopes and dreams into the family sword.

There should be the ability to flow aura towards people you love to protect them or heal them. Dark Aura should have better piercing power and cause your weapons to be more accurate and deadly. Light aura should make your armor stronger and give the ability of basically friendly fire, where not matter how you use your semblance or how large it area of effect it has it'll ignore your teammates.

And what of Dust, proper mages?

Dark Aura is just having negative emotions dominating you. So angry, sad, scared. Doesn't make you good or evil, just means your going through a rough patch in your life. Would be interesting though if society discriminated against dark aura users, since people can sense the negative emotions and it makes them feel uncomfortable.

It was a really underused plot point in the series that negative emotions attract grim. It would make someone who suffer's from depression a genuine liability for some of the smaller villages that can't afford hunters or physical defense systems. You combine that with the whole racism against the fanus and you've got yourself a potential eugenics program starting up that would make the Nazi's blush.

The negative emotion aspect is too bloody deep for any sane worldbuilder.

And what is Dust? Cool idea, never truly used. It's not magic cause Maidens are magic but why not make it bloody magic

I always liked the idea that dust came from the shatter moon in the from of meteorites or that what ever caused the shattering of the moon used so much power that the fragments of that power became dust.
