Questionable Questing

So the creature design was amazing actually and it was never explained where they came from or what they wanted. Which actually worked pretty well. but the character's man they sucked so bad.

I admire this design while hating the idea of watching this monster. Too scary

Yeah, there was a couple really tense scenes. like one where one of the sons was asleep and this super long limb just stretches super slowly across the room out of a open window, just barely unable to reach him. but then it kept growing and growing until the kid suddenly woke up at the last second and fought back. Really creepy, really dragged out which worked pretty good.

Not my thing but sounds cool.

Which speaking of the kids. There's two brothers. One's the older one, and a selfish dick. Their family lives on this farm and their actually pretty close to another settlement with another family who have a girl that he has a crush on. So he'll visit the settlement all the time to sepnd time with her, and not tell his family when he's leaving or how long he'll be gone.

And of course he one day slips and falls, and of course his dad has to go save him and in the proccess of that getting himself hurt, thus starting the main conflict of the movie where the two boys have to fend for themselevs with out daddy here to protect them any more.

So good stuff, classic post apocalypse tropes but they work well for a reason. By the way the second boy is autistic or something and a bit of a genius, inventing traps and getting a golf cart to work. Yet he's akward and doesn't like leaving the house they live on.

The premise reminds me of the Quiet Place with the looming tension of a unstoppable monster that can barely be fought in a desolate homesteader lifestyle.

Want to talk Adam is the good guy AU with Charlie falling into madness?

So biggest mistake the movie makes in my opinion, although not taking advantage of nicholas cage is close runner up. The two boys take their father to this villiage to see if they help. The villiage refuses and takes it a step further by saying they will only take the older brother in and abandon the other two to die.

And I would love to talk villian charlie.

Why abandon the other two and Nick Cage is an actor who you need talking.
The idea has come up in fandom discussion before. What happens when every Sinner is redeemed? What is Hell when its princess finds her halls empty? The trick to it would be Charlie is still about love and joy, but in hell.

So my problem with this, is first your asking a kid to abandon his family and secondly the conflict here works so much better if they offered to take both the kids and abandoned only the father. By having the older brother abandon both his brother and his father for some pussy makes him irredemable. And it starts an argument between the two brothers that almost ends with them killing each other making him look worse.

She sabotages Angle Dust's redemption, offers him power by taking over Valitaono's spot. She pushes Vaggie to fall further, she becomes a greater and greater demon and her parents encourage her. At the same time, she doesn't want to hurt Abel and would rather he make up with their mom, who she is fucking as she's gone off the deep end
Andy333
Andy333
But imagine if its a situation where the younger brother refuses to abandon their father even if it'll kill them. That's not only more emotional but that makes the older brother's choice more grey, because yeah he wants the puss but he also wants to protect his sibling no matter what, like their father would've wanted.

Her feelings on Adam are complex as she knows what her mom said of him vs thousands of years of character development for the father of mankind. And Caine I'd imagine as the black sheep of the family. He's in Hell but Lilith has a complex relationship with him and Caine is a historical figure as one of the first Sinner Demons to reign in hell.

He was going to leave his dad and brother to die because of that hoochie he wanted. Unless they really make his romance to this girl stunning this is terrible

Just the movie was filled with many bizarre choise like that. Its like they were ripping off every trope of a post apocalyptic movie without realizing how any of them worked. It was really disappointing becuase the bones of a good mive was in there. The tropes work for a reason. But enough about that. Lets talk evil charlie.
Andy333
Andy333
I really like the idea of charlie acting almost as a motherly figure if she's in a villian role. See she just loves her family and her friends and wants to see them succed and be happy. But not to successful. Not enough that they'll get any idea's of leaving her. She doesn't want to hurt them, but sometimes she needs to remind them why they need mommy in their lives.

Jesus, gave me the heebie jeebies there writing that out. Charlie as a villian could be really terrifying.
