Basically divination magic for the fae is a real thing and is very powerful the issue is that it's practically impossible to pinpoint exactly. So for example if you ask to see potential threats then it'll show you a thousand different ways a car can kill you. With future sight its basically a game of trying to narrow down and focus what your asking as much as possible which can backfire horribly if your not careful.

And so Artistry, what magic do our punk and nerd discover their respective Fae can grant them?

Future sight will explain the prophecy's and throughout the story the MC's will get vague warnings about what's going to happen next. Basically it'll act mostly as foreshadowing and a nice way to build tension, but it will have plot relevance a couple times. Stuff like using it to find the location of the big bad or a mcguffin or use it as a way to see the past with their ancestor.

Lol, I just realized I have a lore reason for flashbacks. But the big draw back of future sight is when you active it, you don't a clear future you see all the possible futures ahead of you and if your aren't careful it'll drive you insane or at the very least give you a very bad head from information overload. So a nice limiter to an overpowered ability.

So use only sparingly I hear.

Basically. Although that is a nice set up for an arc for one of the family members, maybe a sister getting addicted to future sight as she tries to find the perfect path to advert the whole dark lord prophecy for her brother and keep her family together. Tie that in with her feelings of abandoment over their father to ground it.

Dark Souls thing based on Taffy Tales, want to revisit with this idea of positive and negative karma. That being of order vs chaos, structure vs deviancy. never heard of Taffy Tales but I love dark souls. So with dark souls, themes of decay, destruction, and notsalgia for the past. How do you want to play with those? Aftermath of a great war? The rise of technology and the decline of magic? The twisiting nature of war where its been going on for so long most of the people fighting don't even know why any more and you can explores the effects total war has on a society?

Or is the dark souls addition more so an excuse to intergrate their leveling system where beating your enemies makes you stronger by consuming their will, deterimination, sould, fire, runes, whatever?
