Pretty good, tomorrow's the big move. Getting out this air bnb to another one. lol. But no seriously it'll just be for a week at the new one, just enough time for the house we're moving into be set up and ready. Sure, I really like some the world building in the chi thing. It gave me the opportunity to combine a lot of idea's that I've had into one unified setting.

I really liked the earlier fights in Naruto where it was based a lot more on misdirection and confusion rather than spamming high level attacks and I wanted to combine that with the insanity of Baki and Jojo's bizarre power scaling. So lots of strategy and mind games based around seemingly ridiculous attacks and abilities.

Give me some example martial arts

A great example is chi string, which can be used to bounce a person around like spider man basically, but also to grab hold of weapons and fill into the gaps of armor or wrap around peoples limbs to act like rudimentary armor themselves. Chi is basically just imagination, so long as someone has sufficient will, control, and emotion they can kind of form it into anything.

The things is that different shapes are easier than others. If you make something red, you instinctively think its hot same as with blue being cold, so lots of beginner chi users when their trying to control the temperature of something use those color references to help them. Same with shapes, strings and orbs are the first types of shapes people learn and master because they're easiest to imagine.

But it also depends on the user, some people have an easier time visualizing animals and connecting with them. Some are better at engineering and can imagine big machines, but conversely have trouble with more whimsical chi forms because they think very logical and unknowingly restrict themselves to things they think are logical.

I always thought that a lot of magic systems that are based on imagination are kind of uncreative when it comes to training and showing off different styles. Again it always comes down to big explosions or orbs of energy slamming into each other. Green lantern is one that immediately comes to mind when if used correctly those lantern rings can from any shape or object as long as the person has the will.

You are talking to the red lantern fan. I am all for mega blasts but also agree need creative use of magical martial art styles. What does the of the mc's gang use?

Don't know yet. I still need to make the characters before I decide on a .martial arts for them lol.

But we have the boss, who rules through a mixture of intimidation, charisma, and blackmail rather than raw strength. I'm thinking he's either older or crippled some how from his former glory, and the reason he so paranoid is that he because of this injury he's nowhere near as strong as people think he is and many of his followers could surpass him if they thought they could.

I kind of imagine him as Bill from Kill Bill actually. Super dangerous and smart but broken in many ways. But he hides it with a wicked sense of humor.

Yep, enough to draw in the mc into this new life style and even convince her for awhile she's happy, but sooner or later he's going to slip up and reveal she's only a tool for him like the rest of his crew and then we get the badass fight between them.
