Questionable Questing

I haven't fully decided on Batman's chi powers. If they should be a fully fledged system I make from scratch? If I should peak around DC's wiki's and try to integrate the magic system they have into it? If it should purposely be vague on how it works? I'm just imagining the amount of work it took figuring out how to fit Viltrum in with Krypton and I don't want to have to do that again.

And Mark can't harness chi, because most Viltrum's can't access chi, and why they can't is because harness chi mean's harnessing the natural energies the planet around you makes. For example the red is the animals, the green is the trees. Krypton had gods you could call on for power, just like you can on Earth with figures like Shazam or the Greek gods with Amazon.

Simple is best and I think lean more into the ninja and martial arts aspect of Batman

I like

Basically belief is power, and if you get enough people, although enough plants, animals or even computers could work too, over a long enough period of time believing in something it creates energy that can be harnessed. With a lot of times this energy becoming sentient and turning into a god or a demon.

Like Trigon

Viltrum's can't use this power because they surgically removed their ability to believe or have faith in anything bigger than themselves. They did it because the very idea of being chained back by any moral or code was seen as further slavery to old Krypton and in the process not only removed chi from themselves but also severally crippled their ability to experience certain emotions.

Viltrumite strength is partly existential will magic?

Trigon is the perfect example of it. Was he a monster or old warrior that scared people so much, he was able to build a cult that eventually acceded him into god-ship? Or did early human's create him as something they could blame for their misfortunes, famine, starvation, pain? Trigon doesn't even know or care, since now that he exists he can influence the world and perpetrate the fear of him.

Viltrum strength is definitely partially tied to self image. If you think you're the strongest or you refuse to go down, it won't magically make you the better fighter but it'll let you keep going long past the point you usually should've scientifically stopped. A nice little nod towards some of the pretty miraculous things canon Mark was able to do through pure willpower.

So as his ego grows so does his physical power and for Batman take your choice of anime tropes and add away with unique thoughts

Going to bed but here's the things to design the Chi Powers. I'd keep it physical contact based or aura. Chi is a limited energy centered on the body. You cannot do Reality Marbles, Domain expansions. Wild crazy shit like that where you warp reality? Nope. Aura of silence and obscuring the senses so Batman can move past Viltrumite and Kryptoinian senses? That is okay. It enhances and amplifies to supernatural degree.

Jason with fire fists or channeled into his guns and bullets is fine. Jason is not firing a kamehameha. Elemental and energy effects and positive and negative chi forces. That is what you get with it. It is a power designed for rule cool and awesome stunts and even ones that are absurd, but you ain't getting a Viltrumite level strength from Chi.

With the breeding experiments done by Power Girl, Mark can also give Jason a and Femboy Timmy Drake viltrumite amazons. As in the comic Viltrumite women are here to be bred and wifed by earth men. For the glory of the viltrumite empire their wombs are on offer.

That matches kind of what I was thinking too. Batman's not going to be throwing around fire balls or energy beams, he's going to be doing wacky stunts and kicks that wouldn't look out of place in a Jackie Chan movie. But how are you? No grease fires, right? lol
