I really do like the idea that he's seen as the first superhero and a lot of the cultural norms and the way Superheroes interact with their governments is influenced by him. Stuff like coordinating with police and Army units during emergencies, pushing for more superhero control and harsher negotiations over left over technology from various fights or invasions, more ruthless attacks for certain kinds of villains.

There's a greater connection to the world then canon. And in canon he saves the Thraxians when they need help. Showing he's not a complete asshole

It's a good way to show that despite at least thinking about turning traitor for while, he still followed his mission, prioritizing centralization under a small group that is separated from the normal systems of government and seen as more efficient. You think of the justice league from that point of view it suddenly starts to look a lot like a good in for the Viltrum government years down the line.

A group that can act indiscriminately in most countries and with little oversight. A group that has a decent monopoly on more advanced tech and most of the companies or organizations, like Star Labs, that are slowly disrupting them thus giving them a good amount of power over the economy as well. Or be bound to a dying society that refuses to change, Seeing mark get hurt is going to really force him to make a choice and speed up some of these plans he had as he realizes his vacation, as he called it, was over.

I could see Mark's adopted siblings also get pretty fucked up by it too. Started looking into ways to be stronger, whether it be Raven tutoring her magic under Zatanna or Constantine, Ravager learning under Batman, or Blackfire turering her emotional control with one of the Green Lanterns. Since they also got hurt pretty bad and seeing Mark get hurt will probably fuck them up more.

Blackfire green lantern training is unexpected and I like it. Her feeling as the older sister she needs to protect Mark and the others.

Blackfire and Starfire's powers run off of emotions, so the more emotional control they have the stronger they become. Plus Green lanterns, especially Earth's ones, specialize in construct forming and shaping which is another avenue for Blackfire to get stronger. Learning how to shape and control the size of her blasts.
