For the supernatural there are two cities. Two realms people have visions of opening doors to. One High, another low. One where the best angels of the soul tred. Another where the broken fallen pieces of the soul burn. Exalted to pure glory or fallen to dark revelry

You know, this pale guy better have something incredibly valuable or useful if their not just executing him on the spot. I mean gang raping not just any normal girl, but a paladin in training I'm assuming considering she's the one in command of this mission. Which considering the sheer conflict of interest, why is she in charge of this mission? And what insurance do they have over this pale guy?

He's an elite and she was of mid but not high social statues. Thinking on it it is too much of a porn plot. The incident that corrupted the protag's soul can be changed

I'll be honest it sounds like the set up of a Revenge Manhwa, with the pale guy being the son of some powerful noble and the failed knight actually being punished because he had the audacity to think some peasant girl was worth anything. With the story centering about him rising through the ranks and getting his revenge. lol

That's too cliche. The cities of dark and light idea for souls I think is neat. Too nest for that

Switch it up for a prank gone wrong. Or maybe some kind of dare that leaves some lasting damage like a missing eye. Something that could be reasonably written off as a couple of kids playing around and getting in over their heads, especially with the class differences, while the MC and the Girl know the truth. With the incident hanging over the Pale persons head and career but not hindering it too much.

That'll give you the same set up you were describing before, along with some nice tension as the reader and the MC don't know if the pale guy has genuinely changed for good. Or if its the right thing to do to hold on to a grudge from that many years ago. It adds some nice inner conflict to it all.

If there's potions, you could have the Pale Kid sabotaging the girl's recipe or maybe accidentally pushing her into a rack full of them. If there's some fantastic beasts, maybe he finds a way to get the Girl tangled up with them, either through a dare gone wrong or opening the wrong pin.

Maybe they have a fight with live steel, instead of the training blades, which he loses and in a fit of rage he does a cheap shot that goes too far. Depends on how widespread magic is and how the paladin school, temple, or whatever is structured.

Something unfair but reasonable that makes our protag snap and get stuck among the Chained Arisen

His mom was a Exalted Knight who has hidden the fact her son was Arisen since a young age and she's used him as a weapon before.
To the MC it's a dishonor and goes against his outward facing beliefs on justice

Every Arisen demon of the different clans offer different mystical anime aura powers.
And the truth would be a horror and scandal as no young kid should have already been Arisen

I'm guessing it takes some pretty traumatic experiences to become a Arisen? Basically like a trigger event from Worm where someone is pushed past their breaking point?

That or self induced. Where as Exalted is a deliberate hard to perform effort of transcending the Demon.

I thought this whole time it was just a normal dude with a dark secret he's trying to hide and overcome, as we explore this magical world and its culture through the lens of some who can't make it as a Paladin despite how much he wants too. Where did the anti-Christ come from?

Trope. Not literal. Idea was to them what if you had someone Arisen from a early age like say being born and how much power that would naturally gather

So is the pale boy, really some secret member of a cult trying to groom and cultivate this guy into the ultimate Arisen? In like a less fucked up version of Hereditary?
