HA I WAS RIGHT! SEKOT PULLED A 'GALLIFREY STANDS'!

doctor-who-rory.gif

Though, tbf, this is what happened in the EU, with Sekot escaping to the Unknown Regions and not reappearing until the Vong invaded decades after Return of the Jedi.

I never rrad the EU or wikia surfed so this is all new info and first-hand experience for me.
If you read but one EU novel, read the Revenge of the Sith novelisation.

As for the wiki... only use it for general guidelines, there's far too much... changing going on there over the last 10+ years for it to be considered reliable.

Thanks for the chapter.
I just hope Cameron doesn't become Darth Revan 2.0
Considering that that seems to be a large possibility of happening.

Also why would the council believe him without evidence, that shouldn't shock him. Considering that they don't have his outside knowledge about Vong.

Also wasn't there a race of AI from Vong galaxy if he finds them that would be quite the evidence.

As for HK, while the droid was glad to be off Zonama Sekot, I'd not yet hooked him up to the ships' computers, which wasn't something he was unhappy about. That was primarily because the ship lacked weapons – something we both disliked – and that it was a mainly organic vessel. HK had a few choice comments on the idea of meatbag starships, but I'd shut them down by explaining just how fast and manoeuvrable the ship was because I had a Force connection to it. Or at least forced him to limit his complaints to the lack of weaponry, which was something I planned to work on once back at the Temple

I just had a thought with the ship being part or even fully organic is there a possibility of the reverse engineering of the Vong space weaponry to grow on the ship?

I'm also just not sure how adding weapons to a biological ship works does it already have turret hardpoints or are they expanding the ship around the guns with the force?

Amen.
"Though this is the end of the age of Heros, it has saved its best for last."

chills. Even 15 years later.
Luke skywaker and the Shadows of Mindor and Shatterpoint (done by the same author as the ROTS novelization) are worth a look as well if you like the writing style.

Great chapter, and never forget, the enemy of my enemy is not your friend, but can absolutely be used as a meat shield. Because that's just how Sheev rolls.

There is I believe, but Cam doesn't know of them. (pesky lack of EU knowledge rears its ugly head, lol)

In canon, the Sekotans added weapons to ships they grew/made, so in theory, it should be possible to have something added. Though whether that's conventional weaponry or something akin to what the Vong use, I can't say.

Shatterpoint is on my list to read. I'd also highly recommend Plagueis (which I've had to read carefully for an upcoming chapter ;) )

Honestly i 100% agree with your choice of having Cameron go to Sidious to warn him about the Vong.

Years ago i talked with a friend who read the EU and i checked the wiki and the sheer carnage wrought by the Yuuzhan Vong on the galaxy was apalling.
True it was after the galaxy had exhausted itself through plenty of events even without counting the consolidation of the new republic but they were so powerful and brutal that they pretty much forced everyone to ally against them to have a chance of winning at all.

Throwing down a Sith Lord like Sidious is way easier than fighting the Vong when they take the whole Galaxy by surprise ( especially considering that i don't think the current order would fare better than Luke's Jedi Order in the EU).

If anything he out of sheer self preservation would he investigate it seriously.

Yeah it's an existential threat to force users. Or hell, just regular people in this galaxy with a regular connection to the force. I would absolutely report it to the big bad.

The 2 AI races actually moved to the main Star Wars galaxy and had something to do with a series of books about lando if I'm not mistaken. What's funny is that in legends some evidence is found that suggest some of papa palpatine's quest for gaint space guns came about because he knew of the vong threat. Because the Vongs main capital class vessels are anywhere from 10 km in diameter to 160 km.

I'm not sure if it was canon or fanon but I remember reading somewhere that the true purpose of the Empire was to prepare the galaxy for the coming Vong invasion and the Superlasers like the one installed on Deathstar were intended to counter worldships.

Informing Uncle Sidious was a sleek move. Vong are a threat to all Force users, no matter if Light or Dark. Funny thing is that in this case he might be more supportive and helpful than the Jedi Order.

And Fey continues to level up her Hypocrisy skill level...

Lol Bo's brother is actually king Arthur?

Technically yes. But Bo is technically Clarice Fairchild from Shadowhunters, and their dad is freaking Superman (or was)!

As in his ability to use them and/or their effects diminished? Or is it meant to be Force Points?

As in his overall FP count is down 10% so long as the bong to Raven exists.

So basically, Simvyl is now Cameron's talking Chewbacca? Meaning he'll be accompanying Cameron on a more permanent basis?

Well, not as strong as Chewie, but definitely a better conversationalist. (And possibly tracker?)

It's fanon, but it's a logical one to consider.

Oh aye. Now Sidious has some reasons for bringing Cam into talks about militarizing the Republic and thus keeping him close for 'testing'. And of course, Sidious is not the only Sith Lord in play right now, so I have to wonder how this information will affect things over the next year or so...

Does anyone else get a sense of deja vu whenever Fay says this or the context of it after she and Cam leaving the Council chamber disgruntled.

No, it's not just you. While Fay is more, let's say 'open-minded' than the Council as a whole, she's a true Jedi so still holds to their ideals heavily.

I forgot that Darth Plagueis the Wise is still around. IIRC he's due to get offed in 2 years but it might be prudent to keep him around for longer.

I wonder when Vong started to infiltrate the Star Wars galaxy, they must have sent scouts already. Maul gets to fight and kill a Vong champion when he infiltrates Cog Hive Seven prison in 33 BBY.

He had evidence though? He had recordings of them. He had the Jade Raven. He had his own and Master Fay's testimony, which the Council can confirm is true via the Force.... that's more than enough. They clearly believe him, they just thing the Vong are chumps if one padawan can mess them up.... nevermind he's a once in a millennium talent, with extensive Mandalorian training and weapons.... and he didn't actually win anyways... Some of the arrogant dicks on the council, who couldn't fight for shit anyways, just make an assumption and move on so they ponder their own wisdom for another couple decades.

Are you referencing his Observe knowledge he gathered from the Vong? That's the only additional knowledge he has on them.

He fought an excursion with no proof they are part of a force large enough to challenge the Republic, Cam also while talented isnt even the strongest knight level fighter ATM and to the Jedi this was his first time as a commander in battle

Plus remember you only know what Cam does not what the council actually decided among itself

There are two, the giant piles of trash the Abominor (which showed up in an old SW cartoon) and the giant space orbs the Silentium (a baby one of which was in one of the weird lando books IIRC).

the vong have complete control over their galaxy, irrc the main reason they're expanding here over other galaxies is to hunt the AI that turned them into what they are now.

I thought it was because they wrecked the place fighting the AI and then each other once they ran the AI off.

Canderous Ordo describes getting into a fight with what sounds like one of their ships in KOTOR.

Oh yeah, I get why the Council would make the public decision they did... especially given the nature of some of the old codgers on it, my point was that he did have evidence, multiple types. The Council just chose to value it differently or view it from a certain angle.

Fair enough

My pacifism can be compared to Itachi, and like him I also tend to get rid of certain problems that tend to get in the way more than help....
I don't know why the Author chose her as the second master, the demetries are much greater than the merits, we see more character development/character growth in Dooku than in her and he was a future Sith Lord.

Vibration of another pair - chosen / fair figure:
obi-wan and anakin

"As do you," I replied as I settled into another stance. "If you would do me the honour, I wish to see the face of the man I fight."
He stepped back, though his posture did not relax, and remove his helmet.
His hair, while greying, still held hints of blonde around the temples and his dark, heavy-set eyes bore into me as I noted a scar running down his cheek from the ear to his mouth, drawing attention to the angular nature of his chin. I could only assume he kept the scar as a mark of honour, or some such nonsense, instead of having it healed with medical technology.

wait what?
weren't they supposed to keep thier helmet on at all time ?!

Children of the Watch, and their strict adherence to never their helmet in front of another sentient being, are of Disney's canon. This story, while borrowing elements from canon, is based on Legends.
I thought that would be the case
SW is kind of infamous for changing what is canon and what is not, on a dime
but to be honest i like the idea of a 'War like people' having such a strict culture

It wasn't. Yes, some of the earliest stuff had iffy lore, but the books and other media were relatively stream-lined for what was and wasn't possible/doable. Far more so than say Marvel or DC in the same time period.

i like the idea of a 'War like people' having such a strict culture

The do, but most is based of EU lore here, which can be learnt from books such as Republic Commando and others that centre on Boba Fett (not the bs Disney did with him, but the EU stories) and the like.
