MC isn't really clear on Marine rankings, so he won't see the significance. And by the time he does know about them, he probably won't remember that Garp is a Vice Admiral.Ah yes Garp, gone like the wind. Waiting till the "vice-admiral" talk sinks in
Good.
Good thinking, most protagonists would rush to confront them and either be defeated for a future Revenge Plot (tm) or just curbstomp them. I wonder if he would have been able to beat them as he is now? We don't really have a frame of reference for how strong he is exactly, except for George throwing rocks at him.
There's also the fact that he's leaving the island in a boat, and I was half expecting the chapter to end with him getting hit by a cannonball.

Different villages on the same island. Not ran into each other yet.
Saw that plot twist coming a mile away. Still, a moment of silence for our favorite gorilla.
This is fresh of the Grandline Arlong. Just fought Kizaru Arlong, even if he was demolished. As for George, location does not determine strength. Even weak people were born in the New World. Garp took Detoro to a weak island in the calm belt. Also kinda surprised George didn't put up more of a fight. I mean he did kinda train with Garp and is from a Calm belt island.
I have given a method to resist orders and stuff, which is in line with the One Piece power system. I guess some of you have already guessed it. And it is not the power of love and friendship, I have not got time for that crap. Ain't gonna be no cop-outs like that in my stories.Man, George didn't even get a swing in, huh? I was expecting him to be caught, and kinda figured that Nami would be the person he imprinted on given where he was born. I wasn't sure about the latter part, since that felt a bit too easy, but it's definitely not the worst it could've been.
I thought it would either be Nami, or a person they would meet and be hostile with, meaning he would need to fight through the orders with determination and love for his Nakama(tm).
Heck, I even thought it might be Robin. Her being with Baroque Works would've made that situation complicated.
Yep, in comparison to some of the other pieces of shit in the world, Detoro really lucked out with Nami. And not older, more money-grubbing Nami, but young Nami. Also, the imprint is not absolute, as shown in the latest chapter. I wouldn't lock someone in a prison and then have it be inescapable and the story about his life in a jail cell. It's about the rise and climbs to freedom, and escape. As well as the struggle of your jailer not even knowing they are your jailer, and not wanting to imprison you. How do you deal with that? Or something like that.Weeeell, the imprint thing is kinda the worst for an SI. I guess nami aint the worst person to het imprinted on, imagine a celestial dragon
