It was a great time in history. A time when humans stops being a nomad and start trying this whole 'settling down' things.

....well. Maybe not right away, but it's a start. Right? Of course, this tribe will have you, while the others don't, so it is almost guaranteed they will succeed!

Setting that aside, do you want to name the tribe?

[ ] Name?

And how did the Tribe formed? You will trigger second vote to clarify, by the way.

[ ] It break-up from larger, established Tribe, for... some reason. (Start with higher Population and Tech, but lower Resources. In addition, there is at least one other tribe near your territory.)
[ ] It is an amalgamation of several families. (Start with low Population and Tech, but higher Resources. There is no comparable tribe near your territory)
[ ] Write-in?

That said, where do you emerge?

[ ] In the cradle of Civilization, the likes of Fertile Crescent, China, and Central America (Easy)
[ ] In a place close, but not quite, in the Cradle, like Central Asia, Europe, Southeast Asia (Medium)
[ ] In a place far from everything, where not many can survive. For example, Australia, Pacific Island. (Hard)

Your Tribe Stat:

Name: Tokugawa
Population: 8 (2/8)
Stockpile: 0 (+0 per turn)
Advancement: 8

This is Turn 3.
This is Year 10.
Turn set to 5 years.

You are Building:
Fishing Dock: 14/15

Technology:
- Administrative: 3
You can purchase Administrative 4.
- Diplomatic: 3
You can purchase Diplomatic 4.
- Military: 2
You can purchase Military 3.

Territory Stat:
Resources: 45 + 10 (Fertile)
Modifier:
- Volcano: There is volcano in your territory. It might not be bad thing... (Unlock Volcano-related Events)
- Mountainous: Increased Defense for Military action.
- Fertile: There is benefit on living near Volcano, like rich soil. Increase Resources by +10. Farm yield increased by +2.
- Hot Spring: There are many hotspring in your territory. Perhaps they can be useful?
- Empty: Other than you, there are no other people living here. That's... good?
- Fishy!: There are bountiful fishes that you can catch. Dock gives +1 Population Growth, on top of it's bonus.
- Old Campsite: Looks like there were people camping at the territory...

NOTABLE TECHNOLOGIES:

- Administrative: 3
Wet Rice Cultivation: Because of Tokugawa's origin, they can build small-scale Rice Farms. You'd need at least ADM 4 before large-scale farming can be achieved. Retaining this knowledge need at least 2 Populations.

- Diplomatic: 3
Overseas Journey Story: The Tribe's origin and start still fresh in their mind, and help inspire you in nautical-related action. Give +2 Bonus. This knowledge will degrade to +1 Bonus at 4 Populations or after 19 Turns, whichever comes sooner.

- Military: 2

MECHANIC, 0.22:
STOCKPILE: You gain Stockpile by [Administrative], up to [Lower of Resources or Population]. You can opt to Overharvest, which will net you double the resources, but it could result in depletion.... that said, your Stockpile is Capped at [Population + 2xAdministrative]
POPULATION: Will automatically increased by one after [Current Population] turn. Population is capped at [Resources]. Some unique technology may increase this cap.
ADVANCEMENT: Every turn, I will roll [Population]d10. Each dice that result in 6 or more will be added to Advancement. Pay 2 Advancement to increase Population by 1. Alternatively, you can use this to increase Technology - it cost the same amount as the next rank (so, if you have Rank 1 in Administrative, you pay 2 Advancement to get Rank 2 in Administrative).
EVENT: Each turn, I will roll 1d20 to determine what kind of Event you will get. Note that 'Nothing' is one of the possible event.

EVENT ROLL:
1-10 Common
11-16 Uncommon
17-19 Rare
20 Interesting

Patch Notes:
0.20: Initial Release
0.21: Changed Population growth to [Population] turns instead of Stockpile. Add Stockpile Cap.
0.21a: Added Population cap.
0.22: Added Event and Event Chart.

DON'T think Civilization when you played this Quest. Think Europa Universalis, instead.

+8 Populations!
+8 Stockpile!

+1 Administrative!
+2 Diplomacy!
+1 Military!

Gained new Technology: Wet Rice Cultivation.

It was a perilous journey.
Braving the sea is not normally something anyone will do, but your tribe do so anyway. Granted, preparing and transporting not inconsiderable amount of people takes quite a long time - plus all supplies for the new settlement.

Not that life in mainland really bad, but..

[ ] There is no place to expand. Well, more like there is no good prospect to expand, so some of the biggest families band together to set-up independent colony. They don't really expect you to remain in communication with mainland, but hopefully, in the future you will favor them more. (+Administrative)

[ ] The tribe is expelled from the mainland. Practically speaking, anyway - it should be killed, but they managed to load everything before sailing away... (+Diplomacy)

[ ] Write-in? (I'll determine the bonus.)

Surprisingly, the journey is quite succesful. There are few death, of course, but as journey go, it isn't as much as it should be. After you land, you noted that there is large mountain. Still, it isn't very useful information, so you send your scouts to finding things out.

It takes some time to settling new settlement, but it is finally done! Afterward, the scouts came back. They reported that the place can sustain at least 55 Population. There doesn't seem any other tribe at your Territory. They also noted there are many hot spring. You will need to send dedicated expedition if you want to know about Territory other than yours, though.

What do? (Choose One)

[ ] Send Scouts to check Territory other than yours. Knowledge is power and all that jazz. (Increase chance for Scouting Event)
[ ] Rebuilding your Naval Capabilities might seems unnecessary - you can afford to wait, after all! - but with many island plus bounty from the sea? Might worth it! (Increase chance for Nautical Event.)
[ ] Begin Building: Wet Rice Farm (+5 Resources). It cost 20 Stockpile, or roughly 10 Turns based on your current ADM rating.
[ ] Hmm. You know, there is this thing you can do in frontier settlement.. (Write-in, increased chance of Event.)

[X] There was a draught and hunger ran rampant in the land. Your tribe chose to leave and go to this other place, both to find a place to live and to lower the number of mouths needed to feed in your homeland. (+Diplomacy, Good Will from the Mainland.)

Set up our naval end first, fishing is a good way to help sustain food growth after all. Scouting can wait for next one.

It's gonna be a pain to tally everything, but looks like Administrative and Naval wins. Locking vote now.
