Cosmos Quest (Naruto/Lupin III)

If I didn't want to work on that palace I'd totally make a write-in where Ino sells Asuma up the river does her absolute best to reunite prince and princess.
She could outsource to Ami. Ami, relationship doctor.

It just wouldn't be the same. Ami would be sincere about the prince and princess thing. The adults would give her funny looks and brush her off. Mostly importantly, Ami has no chance of actually keeping up with Asuma. We have....well, better odds than Ami.

Most importantly, we'd be properly trollish. Go the whole nine yards in coincidental meetings, inconvenient gossip mill (also known as the local spy network), and pushing for team workouts.

Ami, bless her fictional heart, would try but I don't think she'd pull it off.

Ami could be unintentionally trollish. Quiz them about their sex life or something.

Hmm....slipping Ami some money to buy fresh Icha Icha research material so that she's better able to offer advice on how to mend their relationship does have potential.

Actually, what would be truly glorious is if we somehow got Old Man Hokage in on this.

But its all a ruse to get what we're really after.

DAT HAT.

Hey, if the chance comes...

But if we can't steal Asuma's cigarettes with the equivalent of a Nat100, I suspect the odds of us stealing the God of Shinobi's hat right off of his head are pret~ty low. Refuge in Audacity will only get us so far, and once Sarutobi has reason to suspect we'll be coming again, it ain't happening period.

Not that I ever thought we'd actually get away with this, but if we swoop down on a rope to pluck The Hat from his wizened brow I'd like us to at least have enough time to get to a mirror.

Errol Flynn Ino is the best mental image.

He's pretty old. He'll die eventually.

That is when we strike.

I dunno, take away that tessen, give Ino a whip and fedora....

That's not stylish at all! What are we, vultures?

If anything we should lament that he's getting old and that by the time we've reached our prime he'll either be even further past his or dead and gone. It's like climbing Mount Everest after, I dunno, WWIII has knocked down three quarters of it.

And while using Edo Tensei to bring him back to his prime is an option, I have a hunch that if we do so just to steal the hat properly from him we're going to be chased by a nigh-unstoppable immortal Sarutobi. The heist of a lifetime should not be the last heist of our life, know what I'm saying?

Ah the head , one of the many thinks that fell by the wayside, like the question of the women in red, interpol medals and what happend with the cat contract after the end of the Lolypops and that sasuke knows the fortress cats. Oh and that we need a way to increase Menkas lifespan soon.

Nonono, Indiana Ino will be when we recover Orochimaru's magic Akatsuki Ring.

I was thinking more Indiana Jones.

Indiana Jones robbed the graves of the recently dead?

Also, something tells me that sealing the beloved leader's hat and symbol of the village after he dies and before it can be passed on to a successor will be met with a few less chuckles and, "Oh those crazy kids," and a bit more, "You disrespectful, shameless, contemptible scoundrels!"

Seriously, waiting for Sarutobi to kick the bucket and steal The Hat? Not cool, funny, or very impressive.

Don't forget mom's family disowning her!

Yeah, you guys're almost as easily-distracted as I am. It's kind of cute. ^__^

At least we can claim its in-character for the protagonist we're trying to play.

[X] On the road again~ just can't wait to get one the road again~

Your client is accompanied by two bodyguards already, but you can see why they'd want some ninja backup; they're obviously taijutsu- and weapons-focused to the exclusion of all else, and much as you respect Lee, these guys aren't even on his level. They're probably of that class of noblemen who think because they've had kendo instruction in padded gear since they were kids they're all masters of the blade. Ami's gonna have some fun with them, if Kiba doesn't get to them first.

They're wearing matching white uniforms, as is traditional for men travelling with a bride-to-be; meant to indicate that they're symbolically dead, so there's nothing improper about them being alone with a young lady for sustained periods of time. The only ornamentation to their sombre attire is a small crest above their hearts, indicating their allegiance to your client's family.

The client herself is a petite woman in a juunihitoe. Barely taller than you, her very presence as she enters the office seems to cow the two men with her; they hunch and avert their eyes from her calm, delicately-featured face. Her long hair falls down her back in old-school princess fashion, with two forelocks framing her pointed chin. Eyes like bronze exude a gentle warmth from beneath demurely half-lowered lids.

You have to hand it to her - it's a pretty good façade. But you're a Yamanaka. You knew she was pissed before she even came into the room.

[X] "Well, hello again, Rouga Nabiki." 8)

[X] "Ah! Na-baka!" you exclaim cheerfully. "It's been a while."

[X] Pretend you don't know her. Maybe she wants her hairpin back. ^_^;

We could be completely professional about this job. Reasonable. Responsible. Respectful.

But we're not going to do that.

Because Ninja Princess Lina Inverse was too good not to use again.
