Feel The Ground Shake (Pokemon - Ground-type specialist)

Quagsire [Celebi Blessed]: Lv. ??
Nature: Empty
Potential: Wouldn't you like to know?
My prediction is we're going to find out when he's fighting Shadow Lugia, since you made a point about Michael being murdered. Never owned a Gamecube. All I know about that game is from Jaiden Animations
K.Rool (Krokorok): Lv. 37
Nature: Impish
Potential: A-

Simon (Golett): Lv. 39
Nature: Docile
Potential: S
They're both so close. But how will he ever financially recover from feeding all of them.

Great chapter.

I thought he would be picking pokemons from Carter so this was a surprise, am looking forward to the reactions now.

Is Ursaluna known outside Indigo?

Bradley: Damnit my Parlay!

I don't think I quite get what you're referencing.

Wow. That's like...no information at all. If you feel like messing with an emulator, there's a top-tier mod called Pokemon XG: Next Gen for the game that's way better than the original base game.

Is Ursaluna known outside Indigo?

Effectively no. I guess I can't technically promise they aren't unknown in the Gen 9 Region Paldea, but I have no plans of ever involving them.

Alternative Chapter Title:

"I sat down to write South Blue but accidentally 3k words in Ground Shake instead, I really didn't mean to, that's my bad guys"

But that's probably too long

How dare you share this. I would rather have never known.

Now I know only the bitterness of regret.

See I was upset when you started this story specifically because it took time away from South Blue but Im now genuinely enjoying it.

Bradley to people who ask him how: "I gave you people Mamoswine. That was your freebie."

Bradley: "Publishing my findings? What do I look like, a professor?"

It's a shame Team Rocket absolutely knows what happened here lmao, I'd like to say they won't know about the full moon requirement, but Ma Ma now has a motif of it smack dab in her forehead and "-luna" in the name.

"Gee, I wonder why our dirt isn't working on the Boss' Ursaring."

On another topic, damnit. Ma Ma also got an A+, huh? This is the second time I expected an S as with Vlad, they really are that rare. At this point I expect the only S ranks to be a part of Brad's team are Simon and Junior (maaaaybe).

TBF... I doubt anyone except maybe the execs will be able to get them (given ursaring aren't exactly easy to get/control/feed*)

*If you standard grunts can barely manage a koffing, ekans, rata and so on (+evolutions) I doubt a building sized bear is really feasible...

Also, I suspect that they will probably find a way to make it less obvious about the illicit link between him and the rockets (burning an asset for short term goals, especially one with an alpha, legendary, whatever the hell quagsires classed as an a ancient superbear is bad for business)

Hell yeah I love this story, thanks for the update!

Wonder if he lost the bets because somebody has seen him win too much and fixed the matches, or -more likely maybe, that Celebi is a bit mad that he still has not apologised. 😄

Ursaluna's one of those interesting/weird evolutions where, while it's an upgrade, it's not a 'straight' upgrade. For Bradley, the addition of ground type is obviously a positive. And for stats, it becomes more specialized. Losing a small bit of speed and almost half of its special attack, but gaining somewhat crazy numbers for physical attack, ph. defense, and HP.

If Ma Ma manages to get in bear-hugging range of most opponents, it's over for them now.

Ursaring's speed and special attack were small in the first place so it's not exactly a loss for them to decrease. So it's very much an upgrade in all the places that matter
Edit: as a matter of fact, the speed decrease means that ursaluna's faster in trickroom then ursaring. So the speed decrease is also an upgrade

Gonna look awful for him when Rocket has them too due to tracking what kinda peat they're suppling and putting 2&2 together.

Random Grunt: "Uhh…boss? I think we did it wrong."

*Bloodmoon vibes intensify*

Just kidding. I'm not doing that.

Unless…?

No. I'm not. It's a joke.

But maybe…?

Wonder if he lost the bets because somebody has seen him win too much and fixed the matches,

I swear. There was no foul play. It was genuinely just supposed to be a gambler's fallacy thing. Plus it sets up the joke where Brad's like "my losing streak has to be ending soon" only to immediately get told his Regi guy is completely unreachable.

I think most agree a little Speed loss is acceptable if it means becoming a living, breathing, sentient tank.

And once bradley gets a claydol and he sets up trick room, Ma Ma will become a fast, living, breathing, sentient tank

Route 37

"No! No! NO!" I shout at the treeline. "It has been a month! How are you still here?!"

The Sudowoodo stares at me. More still than a frozen sculpture. More silent than a one-man Mr. Mime show. Its foot halfway raised from the moment it realized it was spotted.
...
....
..... You know. With all this talk about Registeel evening out Brad's party of Ground Types as a Steel Type, wouldn't Sudowoodo make sense in his party as a Rock Type? Not just because it's a Rock Type, of course, but also because it's a Pokemon that mimicks Grass Types. Grass plants itself into the soil, and thus affects the level of fertility, ranging from arid to lush.
As such. Would it not make perfect sense for Brad to have a Sudowoodo so that he can better master the various aspects of Ground? Two birds with one stone, I say.

Hope he finds a rhydon or Rhyhorn with good potential

Counterpoint:

Sudowoodo is trash.

He's good for a meme. He's not good for battling. He's got the same Base Speed as Snorlax. Plus a 130 less in BST spread across other stats.

Very bad. Not good.

Food?

I hope when Jr evolves fully into a Mamoswine he gets another S. Would be perfect that the son of his starter became one of his heaviest hitters. (Would also keep up the theme of his younger pokemon eventually surpassing his older ones). Granted all of his picks are going to make a ridiculously strong spread of pokemon, I wonder if he'll be able to replace one of the Elite Four eventually...
