Feel The Ground Shake (Pokemon - Ground-type specialist)

Very fun chapter, I lol'd at the psychic damage section of it, more so with the farmers calmly discussing such topics while the SI suffered.

I am also looking forward to the Steel Gym Leader being quite cross with her secretary once she learns why he wanted her expertise and got delayed instead ... .

As for the Tower thing? Well, he will be giving them a whole new slew of trauma for losing to someone who doesn't have eight badges, lmao!

Potential ideas:
  • Give one charge of the TM Charge Beam to Simon. With the move's power and Golett-line's Sp. Atk. stat, it might be more safer against lower-leveled opponents without inflicting potentially critical injuries with high-Attack, Iron Fist-enhance moves.
  • I don't think a Razor Claw is enough as a gift to Lorelei. While on his trip to Hoenn, MC make a detour to Shoal Cave to catch a few Snorunt-line (for its mega potential & if he somehow finds a Dawn Stone) and/or Spheal line with high-potential for her, and for Pryce to make up for taking Junior. Perhaps he might find, catch and gift her a Regice if he's that lucky.

Well, the secretary's behavior is justified. MC should at least quietly disclose what Steel-type he has.

Yeah that's a brain bleach requirement right there. Honestly my only nitpick about this chapter was him just glossing over K Rolls evolution. Sure he listed the stat improvement(and goddamn I didn't know it was that massive) but that's it. Also is he A+ of S now? And damn that is the perfect opponent for Mamas debut. A Guts boosted Ursaluna is gonna absolutely maul that poor bastards pokemon.

I was potentially with you until this moment.

Krookodile will be listed as 'A' rank next time I list it. 'S' is not something so easily given.

She even knows Facade. About the only move that an Ursaluna needs that Ma Ma doesn't have yet is Drain Punch, so the damage from the burn (and the enemy) becomes irrelevant. Sure other moves are nice but anything else is really just type coverage and support.

I did not sign up for turning a corner at the ranch and seeing a Tauros wildly rutting against a Miltank!

Nor did I sign up for the euphoric human expression on the female Pokémon's face!

God, where's the fucking eye bleach when you need it?!

Why. Just why.

Thanks for the chapter!

If I methed right that's a BP of 140! Freaking hell and that's discounting any potential boosts from moves like Bulk Up or using a Normal Gem!(Which would be 982 if the maths right)

A/N: Warning: This update contains two D6 of Psychic Damage against the reader.
I dunno about that, I've played most of Pokemon Reborn, so whatever's here can't be *that* bad...

Though...speaking of the bovines who are out and about here in this large and expansive Route…

Man, do I feel bad.

Imagine you're a Tauros right? There you are, sleeping peacefully in your herd. Protected in numbers and by the fact that you're a...well a Tauros and no one is really going to bother you anyway. The biggest predator around is maybe the occasional Persian who evolved from one of the local Meowths.

A threat to a newborn calf, for sure. But not a threat to you.

And then an 800 pound Ursaluna -which you don't even know what that is- just grabs you in the dead of night and I don't think I need to go into the grisly details of the rest.

Grisly? Grizzly? Hmm. There's a pun there somewhere.

Thank goodness for the literal magic of Berries and the fact that Poké Chow is even more calorie-dense than peanut butter. The feeding requirements of my team have just gone up again.
Wait. So. Hold on. Are you saying that Ursaluna just *ate* a Tauros? Or am I misunderstanding something again?

One of the assistant ranch hands reaches over to pat me on the back. "You alright there, son?" His accent is thick. A western drawl underneath a handlebar moustache. "I take it you city boys ain't used to seein' some things out in the open are ya?"

"I hear in them fancy Goldenrod centers, they use backrooms and Ditto to get all their controlled breedin' done." A second pipes in. He's olive-skinned with dust-stained brown chaps and a large ten-gallon hat. "Never made much sense to me tho'. Too much of that kind of thing leads to problems wit' what we call genetic diversity. You kno' what I'm sayin' Jim?"

"Wait. Is the Ditto the mother or the father in these scenarios?" Rancher #3 -evidently named 'Jim'- asks in puzzlement.

"Hmm." Ten-gallon hat rancher turns his head up in thought. "You know I don't rightly know. Maybe they switch it up every now and again?

Jim looks disturbed. "So a Ditto could produce an egg for Eevee one month and then father a Jynx the one after that?"

"Heh." The previously silent fourth man chuckles once. "You know what else they say happens in the cities regarding Jynx right? Them lips sure be purty."

Oh my god, now I need bleach for my ears too. Can I just make my purchase and leave please?
Not too shocked by this, all things considered.

"This is the Steel-type city sir," She adjusts her glasses. "I'm sure you'll find our local Nurse Joy is well-versed in whatever ailment your team member may be suffering from." She rips off the appointment slip from her book and almost pushes it into my hand. "Next!" She calls, tilting left to peer past me. "Can I get the next person in line, please!"

Well shit.

What am I going to do for a week?
{Brad: Fine then! *Throws Pokeball*
*Enter, Registeel*
Registeel: *Falls over*
Receptionist:... Really now? That's clearly just a Ditto in disguise; I've dealt with 7 "Cobalions", 4 "Jirachis", and a clearly confused trainer who thought his "Lunala" was a "Solgaleo".
Brad: What?
Receptionist: NEXT!}

Fortunately, I have damage resistance vs Psychic damage. 2d6 is a bit too small.

On the one hand, a good secretary is a buffer between their boss and dipshits. On the other, a secretary talking to a high level multi badge trainer and being so condescensing as to say, "Go to the Pokemon center" as if he hasn't already thought of that...

Well, that's a secretary who needs to get horribly verbally reamed for forgeting that (s)he's a buffer and aide, not a guard.
