To celebrate 10th anniversary of game release, a sexy dating puzzle game "Huniepop" is free for grabs on Steam, GOG, Fakku, Mangagamer, Nutaku and Jast!

HuniePop is pretty fun, it's a candy crush type game smashed with a Visual Novel, it got so popular at one point that people were speedruning it and uploading their runs on Pornhub. Then 2 came out and it was bad enough to mostly kill the franchise, IIRC they came out with a management sim at some point too, which wasn't great either.

Franchaise? Those games are mostly written, programed and designed by 1 guy who after crowdfunding 1st game he didn't ask for money to make others. He commissions artist for assets so it isn't cheap or time efficient. And working on those ganes isn't even his full time job. It's a side project.

So development takes time when besides making a living vage he also has to fund those games from sales and other ways of earning money and then he as director, has to coordinate his work between music composers, artists and voice actors spread all over the world. And I bet Covid pandemic also didn't make it easy for a time. He teased few years a go that he began work on another Huniepop project but it was still in like 1% of development.

But it is nice to see that he didn't abandon or forgot about this games. So it's possible that he is still working on a new entry.

If it's a side-job, then there's a good chance the COVID pandemic had the opposite effect by giving him time while furloughed to work on stuff like that.
That said, lots of game studios or franchisees got started by working at home in their spare time and creating a game on their own or with a few buddies.
Heck off the top of my head, Sierra-Online got started that way with Mystery House. I used to be able to name a few others.

Ok, I admit, I completely forgot to make any post this month mostly because of FGO releasing the 7th lostbelt. Anyways, I'm not releasing keys this month or next month because my free time is going to be spent working on my tax stuff (and FGO), but I am doing my lotto. But since I forgot, the window for signing up this month is going to be smaller owing to the fact Humble releases their monthly bundle on the first tuesday of the month, which for February is less than a week away. So without further ado:

EDIT: THE POOL IS CLOSED
For those new to the thread, or just new to my posts in the thread, I run a monthly lotto where I gift the single winner of the drawing a Humble choice game bundle. The bundle can only be redeemed via email. This month's games are listed below and are not being offered as individual keys.

The only rule for the lotto is that winning means you can't enter the next 3 drawings. There is no limit to the number of contestants, and the pool will be closed Sunday and the winner announced in thread. If you're interested, reply in thread or PM me to let me know to add your name to the pool.

Also @ThreeStrikes you can enter the lotto once more.
