I used to trim my beard free-handed and it happened to me then, I was just cutting it slightly uneven. It could also just be a bit more hair growing in that spot, my beard grows slightly crooked on the bottom making it look fuller on my right side so I have to shave it weirdly.

I've yet to do any trimming other than making sure my mustache stays out of my mouth.

<shrug> I might be imagining it, even if I'm not it's not a huge unevenness as of yet so I'll let everything fill out more before any beard trimming.

Also, a friend I haven't spoken to in a decade got in touch. He's in town for a short while, long haul trucker who really hits those long hauls, he came out and looked at my car and bought me a Big Mac.
Battery is great, brand new and shit, dontcha know?
It's the starter.
He says his ex and kids are taking most of his spare cash or he'd buy me one. If I get one he's 100% sure he can install it though.

After he left I ended up blowing that Big Mac meal out both ends, but it was worth it because it was the best tasting meal I've had in awhile.

I had to explain to a friend of mine what MGE is because she saw some merchandise and thought her kid would like it. Which is true, but not how she intended.
 
Really, without climate control the car isn't nearly so nice to have in this situation.
Mornings have been kind of a tease, mild to start followed by brutal heat that beats the hell out of me.
Coming up with a starter for my car is going nowhere, of course.
Honestly, it's pretty cool to be given five gallons of water considering how close dehydration looms every day but I really want to start my car sometime soon and my friend won't be in town forever.
Still the fact that those who respond to my panhandling do so with goods rather than cash has kept me from starving thus far, so it's not all bad.

Ugh. I hate looking at McDonald's all the time. It gives me almost crippling cravings.
Like this morning. I'd… maybe not kill, but at least beat the piss out of someone for some sausage McMuffins.

Instead, I have some potted meat, one of those rare foods that no amount of hunger can make taste better. One of those things that you either like or don't and nothing changes it. Shits nauseating. I'm still going to choke it down. But I'd rather be back on the pickles and beans.

Tuesday. My friend that can fix the starter is back to trucking on Wednesday so I have til then, more or less.

Ate a can of potted meat and yeah, not even waiting for serious hunger pains helped. Shits disgusting. I've literally eaten garbage that was more appetizing.

Really freaking about the weather too. Hot as fuck interspersed with rain. Makes harder to effectively panhandle.
Getting that starter is so vital. I want the fuck out of this parking lot

Dehydration, maybe?

...Much as I hesitate to suggest a person eat catfood, I recommend the "Sheba" wet food. The cuts, not the pate. It's very moist, and unlike most pet food, it actually doesn't smell bad. Like, it's not even "I'd eat this if I was starving" it's "I'd eat this if I was really hungry and didn't have a better option."

From the smell anyways. Haven't been brave enough to taste it.

Except the fish, but I hate fish.

Forget how much each pack is, but it's probably a lot cheaper than fast food is now, and it stays good at room temperature for a long time if you can afford a bigger pack- probably once the weather cools down and you can manage that, anyway.

I don't think it's dehydration? It might be, but water is the one thing I have access to plenty of. I'll try drinking more.

As far as food goes, I only have access to what I've gotten for free, I got no money for food right now. At the moment, that means I have a couple more cans of potted meat and a can of spaghetti sauce that I don't have a can opener for.

Yesterday an absolute legend donated the rest of what I needed to buy a starter.
My buddy couldn't get out to fix my car yesterday, but I dragged my tired ass over to the parts store to buy it because he said he'd be over early to get it installed.

A couple hours ago he finished the job and I started my car!

It was a beautiful thing. I laughed, I cried, I drove around a bit.

I still got a pile of problems and life ain't great but it's better than yesterday.

I'm now away from that goddamn strip mall, parked in the shade (of which there was none at the strip mall) and much happier.

He's headed out early tomorrow, turned out he was staying extra for hope of helping me, and will be gone like six months (he pretty much lives on the road, I kinda envy it) so I feel so lucky that we got back in touch for this short time.

I'm going to take a few to enjoy the shade.

I wouldn't bet on that, to be honest. I mean, sleeping in this car is hurting me, I can't lift my arms up without pain anymore. It's fucking up my back.


Of course, now that the car works I have to worry about gas again.
I really want to get a Circle K hotdog again too.
Lots of rain, prevents effective panhandling.

Less than an eighth of a tank of gas left . Intermittent rain makes it hard to go panhandling.

God I missed having problems like this!

I should have gone to the river, shade and a swimming hole. Trying to preserve the last bit of gas here because I can go get free food tomorrow. So no driving around.

This heat is murderous though. Glad I have lots of water, sweating like a sponge being slowly wrung out. Took of my shirt and wrung sweat out of it like a cleaning rage fresh from a mop bucket.

Why is Juneteenth?

Because I forgot that was a thing, there were only leftovers. I got: plums, a few bananas, strawberry yogurt, rice crisps, trail mix, a bottle of iced tea, and two containers of chicken broth

Definitely better than nothing, but not remotely as much or as nutritious as has been done previously
Gonna have to eat the yogurt fast, no refrigerator, of course there's more yogurt than anything else.

I'm really salty about burning some of my last gas for this

Because it's a more catchy name than "Emancipation Day"? Which I forget what day that actually is because everyone seems to celebrate it today anyway.

Which, as I understand it... Juneteenth is just when the news reached Texas in particular, so it's pretty weird that it wound up the holiday instead of whatever day it actually happened.

It's also my mom's birthday, amusingly. I got her the same gaming computer I bought for myself, because she wants to play more games with me and her grandson/my nephew. Well, considering the price, it's birthday/mother's day/christmas all together.
 
The fun of having a working car wore off fast.

If I had gas, I could drive to a nice little river recreation area that has plenty of shade and cold water to jump into, as it is, all I can do is sit here, drink water, and sweat.

Juneteenth is also the birthday of a very important figure in USA pop culture: Garfield the Cat.

He turned 47 this year.
 
So the whole "functioning car" thing is now more theoretical than factual. Once again trapped. At least Im not in that fucking strip mall anymore.

Edit: the combo of eliquis and a bummed cigarette gave me a nice long high so at least Im not feeling stressed about it all right now
