Spent the last couple of days mostly just trying to find ways to beat the heat.
Heat index is regularly over 100f and it's so miserable .
It crushes all other physical discomfort like it's nothing. Can't meditate or even sleep at night. Can't spend the gas to go back to the river.

Also, funny enough, I got invited to a DnD game this weekend. Won't be able to go.

I'm just aiming for simplistic sexy. The kind of artist who's one step above stick figures with boobs via a sexual homunculus, funnily enough, I did plenty of detail for curves and thick dog lips but could barely get heels positioned well enough. Although I also need to practice arms as well. I've done fingers but there where lots of tracing involved.
 
Pulled into a public park's parking lot this morning, found some shade, it's a good spot to keep to during the day as long as a lot of others aren't crowding it
So as I pulled in, I noticed something on the ground nearby: it turned out to be a small, unopened, fully sealed jar of peanut butter.
I wonder what the story with that is?

Either way, I ate half of it already, so if it's a plot to poison random homeless people… bye y'all.

Used the park bathroom to freshen up and shave my scalp, I'd almost gotten 1/4 inch of hair growth (on the sides)

Tomorrow is the food drop, so that jar came at the right time.
Doesn't help with my gas situation. Which is very bad. I've been able to get more in dribs and drabs, but at the moment I'm below an eighth of a tank and really worried if I'll succeed in going to get the drop tomorrow and then making it back somewhere.

I'm so glad I didn't get rousted by the cops before the starter in my car was replaced

Remember when I mentioned that I was invited to a DnD game on Sunday that I won't be able to go to due to lack of gas?

It's also a barbecue. He's fixing ribs, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and possibly cornbread if his wife is willing to make it.
Ribs are a big attraction, but the sprouts are fried in bacon grease with onions and are also fucking phenomenal.

If anyone can spot me some gas money, anytime between now and Saturday would be great

You sure you can't just ask that friend of yours to spot some gas so you can come over? Surely he'd understand and would able to pay for the few gallons to get there

...Or does he not know about your situation? Could you walk on over there/pirate onboard public transport?
 
Got the food drop yesterday.

Gotta say, it was kinda disappointing. Peaches (a lot of canned peaches), two envelopes of uncle Ben's, applesauce, and a fucking lot of Chester's Fries. Ranch and hot flavors, a big box of them.

Not quite the stuff of balanced meals here, but what the hell, it's free.

Back from the DnD game. The game itself was fun, very nostalgic.
The barbecue was phenomenal. He didn't just make ribs, he also smoked chicken thighs. That plus dirty rice, mashed potatoes, and fried Brussels sprouts. No gravy for the potatoes, just piled sautéed onions up on them.
If I had a comfortable place to sleep I'd be slipping into a food coma.

I have a standing invitation to come back on Sundays. We'll see how that goes.

Last time I had a D&D BBQ was before Covid, out in NJ at my friend's place, and we made sausages & hamburgers (part beef, part ground bacon).

Not bad, but not as good as yours.

No lie, the ribs were so good I cried a little. You know what I mean? When something is so delicious you squirt a few joy tears?
It was like that.
Chicken thighs were pretty damn good too, but well made ribs are a tough act to follow.
Also, topping mashed potatoes with sautéed onions is officially better than gravy in my books now
My friend's wife was going to offer to pack up leftovers for me, but there were no leftovers to be had.

I'm writing again. Actually quite a lot. Amazing productivity on my part really.

I'm also feeling like utter ass. Living on canned peaches and Ranch flavored Chester's Fries has turned me into a shit geyser.

I really miss that barbecue. A lot.

Now I'm back to an eighth of a tank and contemplating where I want to run out of gas. I think I'm running through it faster than I should be, but it's hard to tell because I'm driving a lot because loitering is bad and cops are apparently bored.

I need to come up with something.

If the local cops have it in for you, leaving the area might be your only option.

Maryland is supposed to have good social services, dunno about the states closer to you.

Help I'm infected.

I watch reactions while I eat, and there's this one vtuber and sometimes her friends... Well, she's black, and her friend is white, so when they sing along with certain songs the white girl says "fellas" instead of something else, and the other girl constantly gives her shit about it whenever any variation of "fellas" - actually fellas, fellows, etc.- comes up.

So "Fellows of the Hammer" by Wind Rose came up in my playlist and I'm giggling like an idiot.
