You know how Doom Guy is the monster in DOOM, or the Hunter in Bloodborne?

Yeah.
Heh, now I'm picturing Sunnydale getting an extra defender because Buffyverse Gaia managed to wake up enough to notice earth only has the one defender and coughed up a Garou to help out.

Buffy coming to deal with the Judge and finds him already torn limb from limb: Why did we rob an army base for this crap?

So... considering Buffy's dating history in that series, does she launch herself at big and fuzzy to slay? Or lay?

Remember what's canon in WOD is still exclusively up to the storyteller the books are the canon that you can use but you can change anything you want to whenever.
Sure, but given they've explicitly said the show is partially meant as a means of introducing people to WoD, them so blatantly and unacknolwedgedly ignoring such a major piece of the lore for the kingdom of albion stands out. Mythras is kind of a big deal, and his contempt for Tremere is as well. Now, thanks to these goofy goobers, thousands of people are heading into the game with huge misconceptions about the setting. Not a massive problem, but since they didn't mention it wasn't legit canon their headcannon becoming so many's "true" cannon is something that does leave a slightly off taste in the mouth of an old head like me.

IIRC, Vlad's still kicking, and a Tzmichi (the body-warping ones). IIRC, he somehow managed to humiliate and diablorize several vampires, rising in generation more than once over the centuries. He's amused at the fame he gained, and finds it funny that other vampires almost universally can't stand him.
Zero.
Vlad the Impaler was part of a now extinct revenant bloodline. His embrace into Clan Tzimisce and lowering of his generation was an incredibly brilliant series of ploys and plans of his (and also the plan of an elder Tzim, which he fucking hates) and made his revenant bloodline too dangerous to keep around so they were all eaten.
He even commissioned the book Dracula.
Vlad Dracula is 100% all Vampire, no Garou, related.
Granted, his Revenant family might have also been Kinfolk, it's not impossible.
Just very unlikely. And the chances of them being specifically Mokolé Kinfolk are especially low.

Wondering if anyone ever asked this before but what are the chances that Vlad Dracula is a Mokolé kinfolk? I expect disappointment.

Edit:
I have nothing else to add other than ramblings about that original setting I should somehow turn into a TTRPG legally distinct competitor. Kind of like Pathfinder if it was written by a historian/mythologist/schizo-theologian.

Or some OC Donutsteel who operates on pure out-of-context bullshit that's better used for something original instead of inserted like a bad fanfic. Regarding things like the Order of Saint Christopher. And so many other of WOD's missed opportunities. Like, the Fenlings and the irony that the (mixed)race of hyberborean furry giants have no idea what their protestant Old World Counterparts are talking about and vice versa where the only thing they have in common is some distant shared ancestry and two different flavors of misanthropy. Also I really want racist Gumiho making the Klan look tame via crucifixions because nobody wants to point at the missing elephant that is the Blasian question. Also Asena the canon wolf milf of turks, and Jewish Werehyenas of Beta Israel supplying Holy Weapons to to the Solomonic Dynasty of Ethiopia. And Muhammad having a catgirl wife.

I couldn't agree more.

Getting weird with the lore and deep diving mythology is so much fun.

Saw something pretty funny in the latest Hunter the Parenting episode that I don't think many people noticed.
So when the werewolf Stig used his True Sight ability to see the Faith manifestation of Jesus, the spirits who grant him that power are edited versions of the notorious and very meme-worthy The Mystery of the Druids box art.

It's not exactly a deep reference to WoD lore, but it's still pretty funny to me.

I have a question here, how kinky would you say your Mages are? And even mage society/factions on a whole?

At least one is full on hedonists. Like Dionysian.

It's called 'The Cult of Ecstasy.'

Otherwise, it's probably no kinkier than normal society, I would imagine. Unless your paradigm is very pro-kink, it's probably pretty normal.

True, but Mage Sex has to be something else given the spheres and no way mages can keep those outside the bedroom given how some are

Yes, that is how all TTRPGS work. The source of grumbling is that HtP is going to be a lot of people's first introduction to the setting, meaning they're going to get some of Alfa's home-lore mixed in with the actual lore.
And that's a problem why? Seriously my first introduction to dungeons and dragons was the fucking movie.

And even if they think that's Canon it doesn't matter because while wolf changes the Canon when they feel like it mostly to make shit worse.

And Netflix DMC anime is the introduction for a lot of people to devil may cry again I think your just making a fuss over nothing.

People will buy the books read themselves introduction doesn't mean you show everything exactly because as for as introductions go it's good in getting you interested in the setting but people bitching about how people don't do this turn more people away.

I literally don't enjoy type moon Media not because it's bad not because think it's complicated but because the fandom is fucking annoying and actually killed my ability to enjoy it.

Also they never needed to say they would be one hundred percent canon because they didn't do that In text to speech either. Like I most people knew going in they would use their own game shit.

No, lore matters and frankly trying to say the Netflix DMC anime is fucking good shows you have no respect for things honestly. Lore and the setting matter, trying to pull "its how people meet the setting, it doesn't matter how they meet it." is low. People will repeat shit that isn't true, shit that is disservice to the the whole setting. I don't mind HTP doing its own thing, but it should always be clear its not mainline lore given mainline lore exists to set a fucking baseline.

Brother did I say it's good? No I didn't I said it's their introduction and most people go Check out the games and love them and wouldn't have if not for the show. And you literally proved my point why the fandom itself is more the problem then the people who make this content if this was my introduction if I was a DMC anime fan and I came and asked and the response I got was all this is shit and you should know it I wouldn't want to talk to anyone anymore.

Now I have issues with the director for DMC who lied and said he wouldn't be changing anything. But I don't have any issues with hunter the parenting because they didn't say that they said introduction which no doesn't mean it's one hundred percent canon to the multiple different books that are also different from each other.

And? Its called gatekeeping and its something that fandoms needs in this day in age. A anime fan is just a bloody tourist and I am not scared to call it what it is.

WOD is a setting with lore and a baseline setting that should be know, it can hold a shit load of different ideas and even ways of doing things. But those take you away from the baseline lore that everyone knows and agrees on that acts as baseline of the setting.

Sure mate I'm just going to roll my eyes at you.

Have you never been in a hobby, like being a Marvel comics fan, when a piece of media has all the normies invade your hobby and pretend like they know whats what?

The amount of times that I've had to explain that Peter Parker was a school shooter/mad scientist in the making before the Spider, before Ben dies, has climbed into the double digits. And that it took decades for the shift to golden hearted quipper to really emerge.

There are literal panels of Peter Parker swearing that he'd show them all.

Also that Peter is as smart as Tony or Reed, and that Peter was not Tony's son-figure and Tony was not Peter's father-figure.

And 'but muh MCU' doesn't change what Peter was like in the comics.

God the MCU got so many normies 'into' Marvel and they consume no further Marvel content and act like the MCU is it. Tourists and fake fans.

Until it's, like, you know, actually in a WoD book, it's not canon. It's fanon, it might be popular, but that popularity doesn't make it canon. And newcomers, secondaries, and tourists need to be told that and if they don't like it, they can go pound sand.

If they're unwilling to reasonably and generally conform to canon, I don't want them in my community. They can go form their own community. I'm a WoD fan, and they are adjacent HtP fans. And that's fine. They can go be HtP fans. But if they want to be WoD fans, they should like WoD.

Nitpicking about various edition canons and shit is different than some secondary bringing in a homebrew fanon from the piece of media they like.

If they are so disappointed by their favourite fanon being fanon and that makes them not want to be a part of the WoD community, that's a good thing. They were probably going to be a bad fan if that was all it took to dissuade them.

I am having flashbacks to an actual play I watched and couldn't go past the first episode of where a bunch of streamers came to the table for a playthrough of V5s London campaign book and every single one was playing a person who was insisting they were more important than Mithras and uber powerful

I stared at the screen wondering why the fuck the GM let someone come to the table with an ancient Egyptian pharaoh Nosferatu that Did Not Have the power to back it up and wasn't either a Malkavian using obsfucate or just a very deranged Nossy

Elders/Ancilla who are high on their own farts and constantly want respect are a thing (and the GM really should have been smacking the players with what is actually on their character sheets and the reality of it), but the campaign was dealing with Mithras. A guy who while not the God he claims he is, is just about as close as a pure VTM game is going to get if you don't get an Antediluvian or Caine showing up

Frankly if they don't enjoy the material who cares they'll leave but you can also just fuck up the fandom yourself by also being annoying assholes like I actually understand what you are saying just pointing out that type of behavior isn't good for the shit you like either it's how star wars got fucked because the fans took gate keeping so far they drove people to actually mental issues theirs a line and everyone needs to remember it.

WOD is a great setting, and I love it madness. But I know when I brew shit, I make clear its bloody brew.

I mainly run mage, which means I have to deal with some of the worst of the edition wars, and even ways people look at the setting. I run Mage through a lot of brews and modifications to the setting depending on the exact storyline I feel like running. From a cyberpunk era game, to a "the fey are invading", even things like the Union is filled with Fallen, and even more.
