Interdictors were always more of a strategic ship, they were only made in small numbers (relatively speaking). He has 0 chance of ever getting one as a governor.even better free ships, wonder how effective would it be to bait more pirates(dangling some bait) just to block their escape with a interdictor then take their ships.

Not that sector, he would need to be on a major trade lane, have an actual Imperial major naval shipyard/repair/refit capable of building of ISDs to get the Imperial government to release even 1 one. Now if he got to grand Mott I would agree. Most interdictors were attached to the actual Imperial Fleet or guarded the hyperlanes into the core. There were very few that were assigned to sector fleets due to the Imperials not wanting the governor or moffs to have that level of control of those types of ships.I mean if he is promoted to sector moff that chance goes up drastically.

Hi there everyone, just wanted y'alls opinion on this. There are a variety of great anti-piracy patrol craft, but the cost varies(some are technically free), as does effectiveness, crew requirements, etc...
So I'm going to toss my top picks down here for y'all to discuss, along with links for each one. I'd open it for voting, but I have no idea how that works. Feel free to comment your own ideas though. Always looking for feedback!

If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them. I'm always combing over the replies to see what's new and what y'all are saying.
Thanks for reading!

The fourth step is less of a step and more of a guide throughout the whole process. Moderate yourself. If all this expansion happens to fast, not only do I risk bankruptcy, which might force me to beg the sector moff for money(not happening) or Las's family(just kill me), but if I bring to much prosperity in a short time frame I get the wrong kind of attention, which could get me killed for someone else's ego.
One building in particular caught my eye. Right down the main road that led to the capitol building, was a sharp, angled building, with rust colored signage contrasting the imperial black and white. The Minda Imperial Guild of Industry and Commerce , or The Guild, as it was more commonly called, was an organization I had started to ensure that the bevy of miners, entrepreneurs, and all kinds of companies and independents coming into the system had a way to organize. The refinery in the belt had a branch office, as would the orbital station once built, but it was here, at the capital, where the heavy lifting happened. The Guild offered these independents a way to be organized, connect with the government directly, get the correct permits, obtain loans, request escorts, and more. It funneled new businesses into an easy to follow path to getting started, the convenience of which attracted more people as things started to ramp up. This was all accounted for, with new, empty apartment buildings ready for colonists, better road, energy and comms infrastructure that was great for the PDA's. Especially considering new models had been added for workers, from mining ones that could connect to ships sensors, to engineering variants that could store blueprints and help troubleshoot diagnostics
I did have backups for my back ups, of course. Savareen was a prime spot if Cantonica didn't work out. Tatoineene was also on the list, though certainly last, right next to Nar Shaddaa and Nal Hutta. Easy to hide, easier to die.
The first step was education. Simple enough, all things considered.
Towns/villages with a population exceeding 300 would vote for their choice of 3, after which those teams would be sent to the sub-nexus cities in their region to be voted on again by both the people of the city and all the towns that sub-nexus was connected to. The team that won that vote would then go on to their region's Nexus, at which point all citizens of that region would vote on the team of 3 that would represent them for the next 5 years.
And, with only one go in office, and rules that insure these representatives can't make any money aside from a government salary, the chances of corruption were very low!
If I had to escape, assuming I made it to the ship and out of orbit, the immediate plan would be to head in the direction of one of the 3 hyperlanes that ran to Dubrillion.
I just dont get how everything is going so fast, some of the buildings alone should take more than 3 months to build, the speed at which information is propagating is also very fast. If his goal was to not call attention, then he already failed.
If your willing to take custom fan design ships then maybe this thing?
It's a redesigned Teroch, that looks damn nice.
Wait, so MC is trained as a pilot? He can fly his escape ship by himself? That's new information.
It's easier to continue using what you have than brainstorming and R&D new armor and equipment. Not to mention, The Governor has stormtroopers as a part of his Army. It'd be foolish not to invest in their armor and weapons systems.... Why? He knows that the Empire is going to go away fairly soon. Why is he investing money and effort in a weapons system that is used by a government that is soon going away?
Also better targeting software for storm troopers. He isn't investing in the empire. He is investing in his own well being and safety. Like kaifas kain, but instead of inspiring leader, a bureauc rat that will funnel money into his own personal, loyal , willing to shoot civilians at his order, stormtroopers.

Especially given the fact that these armors and weapons will be in use even after the Empire collapses.
It's actually really common in reality. When the Soviet Union collapsed, many of the breakaway states still used old Soviet equipment because it's cheaper, faster, and easier to continue manufacturing things your factories are already set up to manufacture.
I can't wait for her to actually do this, and that videos and photos of this going viral across the galaxy. By the end of next week the Minda system will be known for its bloodthirsty psychopaths."Of course. I'll have their heads on pikes by the end of the day for you, governor!"
I swore I felt Ciaphas Cain vibes from this. Does anyone else?"...I suppose you will," said the governor in a calm voice. His ability to stay calm, even in this scenario, was incredible! (she couldn't tell he was about to shit himself)
Could be. Still, yeah, even if not that, I give good odds there's something weird with the pirates. Sure, the place is poorly defended and all, but it's still armed enough to put up a fight and at the very least give the pirates a massive bloody nose. Not only that means pirates dying, which while the ones in charge might not mind, the grunts obeying aren't likely to obey suicidal orders, but it also means the costs of the raid are quite likely to be lower than the booty they manage to get from it, which a normal pirate captain is going to be very concerned about. They must be Pirates because why the hell are they trying to rush to the capital city and not plunder the less-defended part of Minda and get away as fast as possible?
CONSPIRACY: Is that Mommy dearest most likely behind this attack as a hidden swim-or-die test or some rival with more money and fewer brian cells than a B1 droid have. "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity".
Shit, and it might actually work if target is generic Imperial governor. My bet is that they somehow found out about the Delta-7 auction and tracked down where it went, thinking the governor pocketed it all, hence why they didn't bother plundering anything else, why would they if they have 50mil nicely wrapped up
Imagine the amount of clones pouring in once they see a vid of Burst speech to the normalsI can't wait for her to actually do this, and that videos and photos of this going viral across the galaxy. By the end of next week the Minda system will be known for its bloodthirsty psychopaths.
