Governor's Gambit - Star Wars SI into Imperial Governor

While you could argue about polycules for days, harems specifically are top-down structures that are inherently narcissistic
Ew! Harems for all its problems are much much better than polycules which are imo weird af.

I am glad Darna didn't join the rebellion, I can't wait for when rebellion decides our boy needs to die cause he has become a poster boy for imperial progression. What will she do? Will she
-Agree to work with rebellion and inform governor
-betray governor
-rage at Talia, so they can imprison her?

Also, I wonder if they will catch any rebellion cells when the Empire tells every planet to do a sweep. Total clean results will be a huge suspicion.

Falling Frontier Reference!?!?!?! Goated af. And I do appreciate the suggestion. If Las ever gets to the point that he can develop wholly new technologies and ships, I might do this one.

I have other idea that I've being writing in my free time for if I ever get back into writing. Like expanding the nebulon line of frigates from a to f at this point or some of my favourite ones making the ST-AP into a flying wing light droid gunship/drone or AT-RTs made into droids walkers with grenade or AT launcher on its back

Idk it's a nice way to pass the time and your story is starting to have the hallmarks of the type of story I really like

Her last thought?

"I won't let my new life be taken from me. Not again."

Really hoping that her new life is taken from her when her collaboration is revealed. Doesn't matter that she's 'out.' She's folded twice, helped the Rebellion once, and now said she'll do it again, if only for 'big' stuff. Rebellion showing how good they are at the manipulation here, which is great stuff, but I'm hoping that there's actual consequences for her doing this. Or they overstep at some point and she actually becomes loyal to the regime and reports them.

But that's just me hoping for resolution rather than vague wishy washy double agent stuff. Not terribly hopeful given how oblivious the governor seems to be, but live in hope and all that.

Man those rebels are for sure gonna fuck up Darna's new life huh. Poor Darna tho, the moment she answered their call all those chapters ago, was the moment her new life was over. Lol I dont see anyway where his mom wont just put a bullet in his back from the embarassment of a sleeper rebel cell under his nose

You know, canonically the TIE Defender program was solely done on Lothal but given how Las' sister is a test pilot and she might think she'd be doing her brother a favor, she could put in a word to the Grand Admiral that the Mindas System could be a nice place to establish a second factory.

I am glad there isn't a harem. The story has been interesting. I think from what I've seen on movies or games, the trains are more just long floating busses without a rail.
harem stories are hard to do and don't work in a good chunk of setting(polygamy is different I think but way harder to pull off I imagine) so understandable| also yeah hover tech makes normal trains obsolete in most cases but given cost it make work better to use earth like trains instead lol

What, no harem? That's not possible." Now, seriously: trains are great (the simplest would be magnetic trains). And something is being done for education (probably with a lot of propaganda). That should be an advantage. Especially with all the immigrants (through his ships and others). Do you actually know how often his ships arrive (once a month? Once a year?). Maybe he should also set up a technical school and later universities (he needs the technical staff). He should also take care of medical care and maybe even try to develop his own products (especially if he gets a lot of new immigrants who might bring in foreign bacteria. Is something like that actually a problem in Star Wars?).

This is confusing me. The ending of the previous chapter strongly implied that the MC was in the Rationale coming to the rescue, but now it seems that he never left the planet?

the rubber ball (and being hit by it) has been established to be a running gag that's shared across multiple different people, including las mola, darna, ife veers, alvi mola, and now the captain of the rationale.

Branching off from the center room were three doors. One led in a hallway, which itself led to the master bedroom and a guest bedroom, along with the bathroom. The other door led to an office space, while the last led to a large walk-in closet.

It seems like you once again switched from Darna's perspective to that of an omniscient observer. How would Darna know about the rest of the apartment - unless her friend was bragging to her and showing her everything including the closet? It would have been better if it wasn't a description but tied closer to the character and her reactions.

I was watching at video on the x wing which reminded me of Guardian of the Republic by Oshha in which the main multi role star fighter that his forces use is the liberator class which the striker variant has a hyperdrive which makes it a weaker x wing and because it's a sith wars era (old republic) that the patents for it would be long expired and that maybe las should see if he can buy the patent or find the blueprint and manufacture his own with updated technology to be his version of the x wing

Amazing fic. Probably eventually have higher up imperial come by with her telling the rebellion maybe thrawn? Or a moff? The empire really doesn't like democracy, could be cool him trying to explain his reasoning for building a pseudo republic in the empire

Well, apart from vaccines for truly horrendous sicknesses and others that just straight up kill you in a short time, they just slap Bacta on anything lmao. (on my sparse knowledge of Stars Wars lore). He could be a good idea for future Bacta shortages and a way to make mad money heh.

Thank you for writing !

i think post collapse of the empire he should go independent then join thrawn when the empire of the hand forms. post collapse he should turn minda into a fortress. to prepare for the yuzahn vong invasion.

I dislike harem too but if we going down the emperor route one day, he need to take multiple consorts just to cut down on the xenophobia/alienphobia... mistresses works too.

The rubber ball is a ball of action. I expect to see that ball being bounced off walls by higher ranking individuals until we get to the coveted Emperor wall bounce.

I don't mind the fast buildup of infrastructure to be honest. Definitely beats stories where they build up infrastructure for months to years story wise just to peter out before anything actually happens.

The empire doesn't like democracy, but it does like its governors having absolute power, which Las still has... he is simply using a representative format for local political organisation to select people to act as his weekly informants for the areas they represent as well as for delegating purely local paperwork/local-political-interactions to them so he doesn't have to handle as much work on a rapidly growing colony.

Honestly his largest problem politics wise could be that he has set up trade unions for his planetary industries that are not actively run by an imperial, after all most existing unions and megacorps in the empire have at a minimum an assigned imperial officer within their board of directors with both a veto and a first-among-equals status to "control" them and "keep them loyal" to the empire.

As for the train conversation, I'm thinking about it and i think he might find it easier to first set up local public transport, ala tube-like-services before he goes for intercontinental trains. His cities are still small enough to be walked through in a reasonable time, so he wouldn't need as much resources to get them running.

Also If the hovertrains work similar to how i remember them, they work similar to how the CIS hovertank worked. then all they would really need is a flat surface to go at top speed, and flattening out an road between all cities across multiple continents is going to be alot of work, even if it isn't anywhere near as much as setting up some proper maglev style foundations for the rails.

that reminds me during the galactic civil war there was a bio-weapon that got released which resulted in a very high demand of bacta so much so that a war was waged over it.

if MC starts manufacturing a sizeable amount of bacta sure it makes a ton of money but it marks him as a target, but the fact that he is so far north that the Minda system is where the Pentastar Alignment is, he will mostly have to deal with the Imperial remnants rather than the rebel alliance.

This is 1000% awesome, tall ask and totally ignore it if it doesn't speak to you but I'd love to get more interludes from his family and some named characters.

What's the response from rebel leaders? (He's probably too small for this yet). What does Vader think about him hiring clones? It would be hilarious if his mom came along to fuck things up and he accidentally'd himself into a political shield in the form of Darth Frakkin' Vader

That didn't happen during the Galactic Civil War, that was from a Legends continuity series from after the war, X-Wing: The Krytos Trap and X-Wing: The Bacta War. Also, the "war" was pretty small scale as it was the actions of "private citizens"; the New Republic couldn't politically afford to go after Thyferra themselves.
