Governor's Gambit - Star Wars SI into Imperial Governor

...Wait, hold on.
Is there a Force Ghost hanging around the Governor?
Yes the ghost of all abused rubber balls are at the governors command and call to bounce off the heads and bodies of those who plot against him and the supreme leader Muffin. All shall know and despair at the wrath of the great rubber ball in the sky!!!!

why do i have the felling that the MINDA Shipyard are going to do something distinctive and become a rivial to CEC , at least in the rim.

with just as good but cheaper more modular/upgradable/easier to refit or exchange compartments etc.

and built with double hulls to help solo ship's withstand piracy.

muahah minda civi ships be better protected than their military counterparts in terms of hull and armour lol. cant wait for the crazy to be released.

Instead of a cape he wore a large coat that hung off him in a similar manner to a cape. A conservative amount of black and red were used to highlight, while grey appeared in large swaths around the ensemble. White was the most common color, especially since it encapsulated his helmet. Filled with tech, no doubt.
I kind like the first outfit better. Has more of a space noble/dragon of the setting.

As he passed the vehicle lab, he could see the barebones structures of a variety of speeder designs. As he turned away, out of the corner of his eye he caught a small, red rubber ball sitting in a durasteel engine shell.

Just sitting there.

Menacingly.
SEVENTH BROTHER RUN! IT'S GOING TO GET YOU! FLEE!

Not hiss like a beast as it usually did in response to Light Side shenanigans, but simply…fade.
I like that this makes the dark side seem like a reactionary animal, and the light side just as unnatural as the dark. There is no human interaction with the force on this planet, just fate taking it's natural place.

And bouncy balls.

I like that this makes the dark side seem like a reactionary animal, and the light side just as unnatural as the dark.
What I find most interesting is that the Dark Side isn't reacting, which implies that our planet is somehow perfect enough that its not harming either side of the force.

And good to know the Dark Side has no sway in this place.
In a way, I agree. The traditional Dark Side has no significant, if any, presence in the Minda System. Shame that can't be said for the Edin System with those Wretches running about.

On the other hand, I feel like the Mindan R&D can embody the Sith Code in their own way.
  1. Peace is a lie, there is only passion. The passion to create, to innovate, and to bring to life what they envision without politics or corruption getting in the way.
  2. Through passion, I gain strength. That passion in what their dreams and ideas can give them the motivation, their strength, to see their visions become reality. Helps that Governor Mola is generous with funds, too.
  3. Through strength, I gain power. With motivation, funds, and their expertise unleashed, they can truly overcome obstacles that have stymied them before.
  4. Through power, I gain victory. Their achievements will give their lives meaning. Their fantasies made reality. Their naysayers firmly debunked.
  5. Through victory, my chains are broken. They will free themselves of their restrictions, whether it be politics, societal racism, petty grievances, misguided laws that twist right and wrong, nor by their once oppressed conscience.
  6. The Force shall free me. They are free to choose anything if it serves their goals. Strive for perfection, strive to break their chains, and the Force shall reward them (In this case, the plot).
This is just my personal interpretation of it that I wanted to share. No need to look too deeply if you don't want to.

All show know and despair at the wrath of the great rubber ball in the sky!!!!
For some reason, what you wrote here made me imagine a rubber ball the size of the Death Star.

I love what you are doing with plot for the rubber balls . Maybe colors match the chapter's tone of perhaps a foreshadowing. Very impressive.
The chapter was also nice .
Jokes aside . I was expecting some "baffling seventh brother with bs" in a spaceballs style

In this case, the emotion of Rage had been instilled into these peoples brains so potently as to override their logical minds, while the concept of Power had been woven into the muscles to give them the strength to enact their anger.
That's it? So it's just force version of the zombie Rage virus with the concept of power infused into the muscles? No durability or reinforcement force enhancement or some kind?

Kinetic weapons might be more effective against Wretches than blasters then, especially something like the Magnum from Halo 1.

He wanted to rage against it all. To scream out in anger and defiance like he had been taught would bring him power. But, in the face of Minda's Force presence, the Dark Side seemed to fade.

Not hiss like a beast as it usually did in response to Light Side shenanigans, but simply…fade.

There was precious little for it to hang onto here. Save for him.
Part of that may be that Minda is a new world. It was recently colonized to fill a quota and not much else was planned for it. That might make Minda "fresh" and "untainted" by either side of the Force. Seventh Brother may be the first Dark Side user to ever set foot on the planet.

Unlike most other worlds Minda hasn't had a galaxy's worth of tragedy and brutal wars thrown at it. The Clone Wars seems to have been mainly ship battles in space, with little interaction with the planet. The big pirate raids were the only recent bad thing to happen and even that was easily repelled.
"Why…do you wear a helmet, Governor?" he asked in a slow drawl. His voice was a specially cultivated technique of his. A combination of his position of power and his apathetic tone caught people off guard, especially if they were already scared of him, like most Imperial Officials that he meets are.
For most people the suit and saber makes people assume menace behind Seventh Brother's tone. Not being able to see or care about those things just makes him seem tired or zoned out. Like he is drained and lethargic.
Walking closer, he ripped the body bag open. Inside lay a dead togrutan male. His skin was a cracked grey, his muscles taught even after death. Expanding his senses, he investigated.

The muscles and brain were the largest concentrations of two distinct concepts. See, while the Force worked in a myriad of ways, the most basic was emotion. Emotions in sentients often beget ideas and concepts. In this case, the emotion of Rage had been instilled into these peoples brains so potently as to override their logical minds, while the concept of Power had been woven into the muscles to give them the strength to enact their anger.
Yeah I can definitely see one of Maul's Crimson Dawn minions or a surviving vengeful Nightsister doing this.
isn't the MC sister getting transferred to Minda with the remnants of the tie defender project?
My guess is that it is taking them some time to transfer everything over. Between all the parts, designs, and people. Thrawn disappearing probably slowed things down immensely since he's no longer around to use his influence to prioritize the shipping.

Would something like a 40k Imperial Knight be viable? Having something that can Melee a Rancor would be hilarious.

A knight would step on a Rancor, not melee it.
A knight is 30-40 feet, a Rancor is 14-16 feet.
However, there were Mecha in SW.

Our poor governor is going to end up bringing true balance to The Force by accident, isn't he? The Whills will start working for him.

Ohhhh so the inquisitors can recognise the signs of force shenanigans/ force plots taking place in the area and are suitably cautious as a result.

This will be very entertaining to see if its a common pattern of the force users noticing the narrative causality messing with the empire whilst everyone else remains oblivious due to the SEP field the force likes to use
