Governor's Gambit - Star Wars SI into Imperial Governor

If macross style mechs come to the Corusca galaxy it will be because of Mandalorians.
Mandalorians yearn for the old days when they had their brothers - Basilisks - living alongside them. Mandos never had any droid rebellions because Basilisks were family members that bonded with mandos as they grew up. And they made it everyone's problem. Nothing like a fighter-mecha-murdemachine ridden by an even crazier guy to brighten your day.

There is a reason Mandalore is still prohibited from building droids.

Las basically met himself in the form of Marv.
And he didn't even realize it!
"I just want a cushy life, Force dammit!"
Las will make a diligent civil-servant of him yet!

If Mugwuffin can reproduce parthenogenetically, like a tribble, then maybe Marv can get a hatchling?

And so the spread of the guild begins and it will become the reason for why the entirety of the Pentastar Alignment ends up being transformed fully into the Imperial Remnant and staying that way instead of just a part of it did over time cuz of war with the New Republic and economics like in true canon(legends).

latest

I admit. I do genuinely hope to see Mola's RnD department decide to try and crack the design for Basilisk's. Those particular droids are genuinely amazing, and he would probably gain the undying loyalty of the entirety of the Mandalorian people off Mandalore for doing so.

I admit i mostly just want to see Mandalorians riding Basilisk again. Such a fun concept!

Wise choice of words young moff, you asked for a "Lazy Life" not a "Quiet Life". Were that the case, you'd have been catapulted into an adventure of constant battle and ridiculous power growth.

While files and word will say the new guild is under Marv, it'll just be another apparatus for Las' policy of cyclic profit and societal happiness. Las' people will set the foundation, and in return both sides will benefit from market data and intel/rumors of conflicts in the hyper lanes.

The Mando Migrant Movement has been seen as a resounding success. Constant reports of pirates and criminals pouring in, getting mauled and looted across the system. And with them assisting in training, along with the new focus on combat capability over extra loyalty lessons, will mean that the troops that would pour out in the coming years will probably be seen as 'Elite Troops' against their peers from the other sectors. Meaning more favors for transfers, both ways from other moffs, and probably from the grand moff too.

The obvious signs that someone is pointing crime Las' way could be anyone. Could be rival grand moffs trying screw over Kaine by removing a golden goose, could be any of the syndicates or Hutt cartels that see a fat shining pile of loot that's heavily defended and is getting fatter by the day or it could be the rebels trying to soften up the region in any way while their busy in their area.

Doesn't matter, free loot and weapons training for Las' people

Alright, basilisk are a no go. There not imperial enough .. soo why not make zoids.
I'd personally recommend something similar to the weird hoverboard used by Saren Arterius during his Boss Battles in Mass Effect 1. Fast, relatively portable, can be summoned to you from a distance, the size means they can easily be made in larger numbers, and it can pick a personal shield and a surprising amount of firepower.

. The Mandalorian clans kept growing as more and more showed up in the sector with each passing day, and they all had plenty of work.

So, I'd started offering better contracts. Not with the Guild, but directly with the local Imperial Government.

These contracts were much longer term, to the tune of 5 years, but with triple if not quadruple the amount of quarterly pay for the clan at large. Not to mention, positions as trainers at the new academies that came with generous paychecks.

Of course, that wasn't all. Those who signed on got fairly sized land grants on multiple planets across the sector, usually right next to capital cities, such as Accordia. The idea was that such land would allow them to store their supplies, set up camp and settle in for a long contract.

The sneakier idea was that by settling them so close to cities, they would intermingle with the locals and come to call the sector home.

He's gonna wind up Mand'alor by accident at this rate. Mandalorians are flocking to his territory, gaining land, wealth, combat experience, and, most importantly, armaments; anyone with an eye to ancient history is going to look at this with great concern. Mandalorians coming together in large numbers has historically ended rather poorly for the galaxy at large.
