Lilith Game [Crossover/CCG Quest]

[X] Practice!

Perhaps we could offer her one of our blank cards as a wager although I'm not all that eager to give something like that to a fey.

Ok, I've been thinking about this and..

Are you really sure you want to practice around to play is the MC, who has never played before, or Mami, who has already admitted that she isn't practiced, and the math nerd who claims to be the dorm house champion? Also, you are kind of lacking in marbles for everyone even if said math nerd does happen to have her bag on her which hasn't yet been mentioned IC wise...

As well, it is getting later with every post.. How much time do you have left, to stay underhill? Consider these facts a friendly hint from the DM because you know better then this IC wise.

Okay. That should be a fairly big sign that that is a very Bad Idea. No marbles, then.

The idea of doing a marble challenge isn't horrible, but you have certain logistical issues with a proper practice session..

Well, you're the one who proposed the idea at first... And frankly, we're supposed to gamble it all in one go, one dice roll without checking how she would do first against a fae?

Is the knife we have even enough for the fae to bet Kojoro on it in the first place? And if a simple trade is possible, I would go for it imemdiately. Problem is, I doubt it would really be enough. We have a gem or the needle to reinforce our side of the trade, but I'm not sure hey would be enough either.

[X] Time to see Clearleaf and see how interested she is in the swiss knife.
-[X] See if you can work up her interest a bit. How likely is she to find a way to get one anyway? But don't push your luck on this.
-[X] If you gauge her interest to be sufficient, bring up Kojoro. Try to avoid saying how important it is for you to save her, or Clearleaf may drive up the price of a trade.

[X] If she accept the trade? Take it. No point in risking losing the knife for nothing in a game.
-[X] If she's not sure, you have the needle or the gem to raire the value of your side of the trade. Maybe, MAYBE the medical kit card if you're desperate. Could you make one like it anyway it you took one in a blank? How does magical regeneratino of supplies work anyway?
-[X] If she's seriously unsure, propose a gamble in a game of Marbles. Pray to God Junko can win this.

What happened to just joining a low stakes game to see how Mami and Junko actually measure up?

Happerry just *hinted* that this may not be such a good idea, as time move on and party won't last forever.

Hence my new vote. If it comes down to it, either we trade or we try marble game. Will some practice really raise her skills anyway before the important game?

I assumed that joining a smaller game would make actually challenging her afterwards go rather smoothly.

Also, note that Happerry said that in response to an option having us practice (as in actually spending time trying to improve our marble skills) rather than joining a small game to see how good our girls actually are.

[X] Megaolix's plan of much words.

The 'logistical issues' in a practice session were implied to be not only the fact we don't have any marbles, but also time related as well. As in "Time, you are running out of it, go find the next fay now, or forget about it."

Or at least that was the impression I got.

Yes, but "practicing to get better at marbles" is a lot more time intensive than "join a five minute long game to see how much your girls suck".

She's carrying marbles around, as stated by GM. I think she like the game enough to have practiced to at least be good at it. The issue may probably be more about calming her nerves, considering how it ended for her last time she played a game against a fae.

Apart from time issues, no point in letting word spread around to Clearleaf about Junko's skill level. May help make sure Kojoro is in the bet, if it comes down to it.

Besides, if trade don't fly, then the next try will be marbles. And if that fails too, it will be between give up, sneak steal or use force. And we'll definititely need as much time as possible to plan any non-giving up plan.

What, you mean the 'decide to see if Junko is able to defeat a fey in Marbles' line? That wasn't suggesting practice, that meant to go make a challenge.

Ok, didn't think of this for some reason. It might work.

But now you warned us against time passing...

Argh, I'll be so happy once the rescue is done and we're moving on.

[X] Join a low stakes game to see how Mami and Junko actually measure up.

[blockquote]Rolled 1d100 : 40, total 40[/blockquote]

here

[blockquote]Rolled 1d100 : 4, total 4[/blockquote]

[blockquote]Rolled 1d100 : 49, total 49[/blockquote]

Junko : 40+30=70
Random Fey : 23, 11, 56
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And so you all wander over to the marble ring area of the party and, after some soft encouraging words, let Junko have a go. The result? Um, well... Horrible massacre pretty much sums it up. She is quite good at the game, and visibly gets more confident in herself as she proceeds not to be horribly smashed by the fey in the first round.

Indeed, she s the one horribly smashing them, and soon after the single round she joined in for (that they seemed very relieved that she wasn't sticking around for more), she's back with a small handful of silver coins and a small pouch that appears to have a fake beard in it..

Well, according to the tags, it's a waterproof pouch and an animated beard, so.. well, you aren't really sure. At least you won?

You also saw Clearleaf playing in the high stakes ring. Well, once she was pointed out to you. She'd quite good.. but not quite as good as Junko. You think.

[ ] So, challenge, bargain, steal, other?

So probably +10 advantage? Maybe +5? Compared to Clearleaf I mean. Yeah. This is worth the risk!

[X] Challenge

Can we have a list of things that might buy us into the game or do we not know enough about the values involved?

[X] Time to see how interested Clearleaf may be in a trade first
-[X] When you bring up Kojoro, try to avoid saying how important it is for you to save her, or Clearleaf may drive up the price of a trade.

[X] If she accept a trade you can easily afford? Take it. Why take a risk on Kojoro's life?
-[X] If she's unsure or doesn't want to accept like that, propose the challenge.

You have your nice iron Swiss Army Knife, but you'd prefer not to give that up, it has sentimental value. You have a blank card, and your none blank cards. You could probably trade the Cannonade card, as your pretty sure Mami could help you make a new one, or your First Aid kit, though finding another one might be annoying and she might not like it. You don't think trading your mental ward or the key cards would be a good idea.

You also have your winnings from that poker game, including a nice handful of cash, but you don't think you have enough money to be worth your goal by itself. You also have a large amount of mundane money, but you don't think that's very valuable here. Or you could bet a favor.

Oh, and Junko of course, but that would be very mean of you. Bad PC! Bad!

Edit: And a glowing crystal of unknown effect. (Because you haven't looked at it or asked about it to anyone who'd know what it is besides a crystal/gem that glows)
