The thing is nothing but a liability in any situation she doesn't really need that little extra boost.
Similar problem with the Cannonade.
We do not have infinite stamina or mana.
These are trump cards.
As such, they are to be used when normal stuff doesn't cut it.
Besides, we are dealing with fey here.
This is not going to be a combat focused encounter.

We can defeat a lesser fey but our main priority should be to not let it get to the point where we are in combat with one of the capable ones.

To clarify, Mami isn't the strongest of the summons you could have gotten, but her 'deck' does equip you in other ways for this. You have no real idea of how strong she is because you haven't asked her. My comment for IRC was to say that no, every fey in existence can't casually run over her, but there big guns are probably bigger then she is. I mean, when in any game has the bosses or minibosses not needed to be ganged up on by a full party to beat?
And of course, this is a situation with Fey. Depending on how things go you might not do any fighting. (Even if you wish you were.)
