COMMENTS:
Badgedaniel_rahn[webnovel]:

Love the chapter and development, i also hope he explain more about his semblance orhis "prophecies" the whole concept of "i will change the grimm future and save everyone" will only boost Jaune's charisma once everyone realized why he did the things he did.
Maybe also talk about his Rust knight future to earn sympathy? Anyway, keep the good work bro
Avip:
As for where Jaune's initial information came from, I plan to start developing that soon. A shout-out to the Rusted Knight could be interesting, but I'm not making any promises about touching that… yet.

[Ozpin]

{All systems are green, kid.} The AI informs in the recording being displayed. {You'll be able to share the video, if you survive this stupid idea.}

On a large screen, a recording from Mister Arc's helmet is projected; he walks silently through the corridors of a large building in the Land of Darkness, a place I once called home.

{Thanks, Church.} Jaune replies in a serious tone despite the small insult thrown his way. {Any reason why you're speaking through my helmet's speaker and not the implants?}

{Giving context for whoever watches this later.}

{Good idea.} Jaune praises in a more jovial tone. {It's no wonder you were the producer of an entertainment company.}

{Hardy-Ha! Fuck you!} The AI replies in an irritated tone.

Using his semblance, Jaune created a projector and armchairs for us to watch his raid on Evernight Castle, Salem's fortress.

MUNCH! MUNCH! CRUNCH!

Personally, I think the creation of popcorn and soda is
an unnecessary distraction.

SLUUUUUUUURP!

"Nora please, make less noise."

"Sorry, Renny."

At her partner's request, Miss Valkyrie fell silent, a fortunate thing since in the recording Jaune had just been discovered.

{Who are you and how did you find this place?} A familiar male voice questions.

I contemplate the image on the screen with a heavy heart, for it shows the imposing Hazel Rainart. The tall and powerful middle-aged man who blames me with every fiber of his being for causing the death of his sister, Gretchen.

I understand that the pain of loss is a heavy burden, one I have carried for eons. But he refuses to understand that his sister chose the path that led to her tragedy.

Rainart's eyes, even in the recording, seem to pierce my soul.

'Hazel was already a great fighter when young. Now, with years of experience serving as a combatant for Salem, he must be even more formidable.' I think, curious about Jaune's actions in the recording. 'How did Mister Arc handle him?'

{Strength Enhancement, Church!} Jaune commands, lunging towards his opponent.

Hazel tries to grab Jaune, who, using the armor, is taller. With movements faster than Salem's servant, Jaune quickly moves behind his opponent and grabs him by the collar of his shirt and jacket with his right hand.

{But what-!} Hazel tries to protest, but is cut off by Jaune, who lifts him off the ground as if he weighed nothing.

The camera begins to spin, suggesting that Jaune was doing the same, rotating the body with ease.

{So long, Rainart!} Jaune declares, stopping abruptly and throwing the large man out the window. {Nice. He'll take a few hours running to get here, if the Grimms don't eat him first.}

"Why did you do that?" Ruby questions, looking at the present Jaune. "You defeated a Leviathan, couldn't you handle this guy?"

Shrugging, Jaune replies:

"I could defeat him, yes. But that was the easiest and fastest way to deal with him."

Following his path in the recording, Jaune crosses dark corridors, the dim light of red torches on the walls illuminating his passage. Suddenly, a roar echoes through the castle, and a huge creature emerges from a hallway, an Elder Beowolf. Its lupine body towering even higher than Jaune using his modern armor, red eyes gleam with an ancient malevolence, staring at what could be its prey.

"Be careful, Jaune!" Miss Valkyrie shouts, worried about her leader, despite this being a recording and the real one is sited by her side.

With aberrant strength, Jaune presses the Grimm against the wall, cracking the ancient concrete in several places. Taking advantage of the monster being stunned, Jaune moves like a blur, drawing his vibro-knife and then stabbing the Elder Beowolf three times in the chest, five in the throat, and at least nine times in gaps in the bone armor on the creature's skull.

"Wow!" Miss Belladonna exclaims breathlessly. "Are you an ex-convict?"

Nora and Ruby stare confusedly at the faunus of the group, while Weiss and Pyrrha fake cough, trying to hide their discomfort.

Jaune's brutality and speed were so abnormal that the creature didn't even have time to roar in pain, as it was already disintegrating.

"We're sooo gonna spar after this." Miss Xiao Long comments, impressed by Jaune's performance.

The recording continues, and the more Jaune walked, the more rare and powerful Grimms appeared. It seemed that Salem took the most powerful Grimms that could fit in her castle and employed them as bodyguards.

Beringel, Geist, Ravager, Razorwing, Teryx, and even a variation of Elder Sabyr that I've never seen before. All powerful Grimms that represent a serious threat to groups of veteran Huntsmen… and yet Jaune killed them all with minimal noise, quickly, with just a knife.

A few seconds of the recording without me paying attention, as I was rubbing my eyes to make sure I wasn't dreaming about what I was seeing.

{The throne room is close.} The AI informs in the recording, grabbing my attention again.

Jaune in the recording opens the large decorated doors, and the vision that unfolds before us is both impressive and terrifying.

The throne room is a spectacle of gothic opulence, every detail screaming tyranny and arrogance. The floor is of black marble, polished to the point of reflecting the dim light of the torches flickering on the walls. Immense columns, carved with grotesque figures of monstrous creatures, support a vaulted ceiling, where somber frescoes depict scenes of ancient battles and macabre triumphs.

The throne, in the center of the room, is a macabre work of art. Made of intertwined bones and dark metal, it rises like a monument to cruelty. And sitting on this captivating abomination sits the wicked witch of the west, also known as Salem, the Queen of Grimm.

{Who dares to enter unannounced into my court?} Her voice, though cold, was drenched in hatred and contempt for Jaune. {Judging by your attire, I imagine you're one of Watts' little toys?}

He stops for a second, but doesn't answer her. Instead, he draws a large two-handed sword, the sound of metal sliding against metal echoing through the throne room.

Her eyes widen as she recognizes the blade. The expression of surprise quickly turns into a malicious smile, which carries the weight of centuries of hatred and contempt.

{Well, well, well. If it isn't Ozma's new knight.} She rises from the throne, her long black dress dragging across the marble floor. {I suppose I must thank you, for sparing me the inconvenience of hunting you down myself. Now, do be so kind as to perish like the writhing little worm you've always been.}

As if in response to her words, a shadow falls from the ceiling towards Jaune.

{DIE HERETIC!} An insane voice shouts, attacking Jaune.

For a second, we see a blur of what looked like a crazy eyed faunus with a scorpion tail and blades on his hands. But we can't see more because Jaune dodges the first attack with ease and with a blow of his sword cuts his opponent in the chest, breaking his Aura.

{Argh!} The insane faunus shouts with a gash in his chest.

Looking at the ground, we can better see the appearance of the scorpion-tailed faunus who was knocked out with a single blow.

{This crazy bitch is dangerous.} Jaune says, cutting off the scorpion tail of his unconscious adversary.

Salem, clearly disturbed by the demonstration of strength, stares at Jaune with a mixture of surprise and anger. Her black eyes with red irises glow with an intensity that resembles the day our daughters died.

{You weren't this formidable, boy.} She comments, her voice laden with disdain.

Laughing, Jaune replies with a tranquility bordering on arrogance:

{Clothes make the man.} He says taking a step forward, the sword still firm in his hands.

The throne room, already tense, seems to vibrate with the tension. Salem, furious, takes a step forward, her hands arching with purple energy and green lightning.

{And what, pray tell, did you hope to accomplish by coming here?} She asks, her voice filled with disdain as magical energy crackles and arches around her.

Jaune replies in a confident tone:

{I came here to personally test if my sword is capable of killing you. After all, it was capable of killing a goddess.}

I frown seriously at Jaunes' remark as Salem shoots rays of purple and green energy in his direction. The rays cut through the air, leaving a trail of light that illuminates the throne room with a sinister clarity.

Jaune, however, is unfazed, dodging the spell with ease. The large sword in his hands seems to dance weightlessly, without bothering the young man.

Realizing that his attacks weren't landing, Salem summons a black smoke that spreads across the floor of the throne room. From the smoke, a swarm of Grimm tentacles and claws emerges, advancing against Jaune with inhuman ferocity. The creatures, made of shadows and hatred, move with terrifying agility, trying to grab and tear Jaune apart.

But even with the supernatural speed of his attackers, Jaune moves even faster; even with the large number of his attackers, Jaune dodges them all with calculated perfection.

"How do you do that?" Miss Nikos questions, drawing our attention away from the recording. "Even though you were faster than her you move like-."

{{He knows exactly what was going to happen next?}} The AI sugest, appearing between us as the recording is paused.

"Now that you've mentioned it, that happened throughout the entire recording," Pyrrha adds.

{{With Jaune's latest upgrade and his armor, I can assist him better during fights. My perception as an AI is much faster than yours.}}

"I imagine Jaune must have a powerful computer hidden in his armor," Miss Schnee adds in a didactic tone. "Otherwise, this type of processing must be impossible."

"I do have what could be called a 'powerful computer' in my armor," Jaune explains, holding the remote control in his hand. "But the really strong one is in my facility in Menagerie."

"You have a server farm in Menagerie for your AI assistant?" Blake questions, wide-eyed.

"Is more like a few underground floors of servers farms in Menagerie for my AI assistant."

{{I'm not an AI assistant, I'm a full AI-.}} Church tries to explain but is cut off by Nora taking the remote of Jaune's hands.

"Less talk, more action."

The recording continues, and now with the AI explanation, it becomes obvious that Jaune was indeed reacting as if he knew all of Salem's moves.

Dodging the magical rays and the claws of the Grimms that emerge from the black smoke. The sword in his hands dances, cutting through the air with inhuman dexterity.

Moving to create an opening in his opponent's advance, Jaune approaches Salem, his eyes fixed on hers, which glow with the intensity of a red inferno.

With a powerful blow, Jaune cuts deep into Salem.

{Argh!} Roars the Queen of Grimm in pain.

The blade enters her shoulder, sinking to her heart. Salem's face contorts in a mixture of pain and disbelief as the sword advances, cutting her in half.

I watch, incredulously, as the scene unfolds before my eyes. Jaune, with surgical precision and calculated coldness, continues to attack Salem. Each blow is fiercer than the last, each cut is deep, and each impact resonates through the throne room with a sinister echo.

Salem, the woman who for centuries has been a constant shadow over Remnant, screams in agony at each of the sword strikes. Her body, being destroyed and regenerated, contorts, dissolving and regenerating under the blade of Jaune's sword. The weapon, which he claims is capable of killing even a goddess, seems to be proving its worth making the most powerful being on the planet roar in agony like a wounded animal.

Salem's screams echo through the hall, but her flesh does not stop regenerating.

{Damn!} Jaune complains, watching Salem's body starting to regenerate. {Curses from creation gods are something else.}

{Wanna try making some dispel curse items?} Church questions in the recording.

{Let's retreat and evaluate better,} Jaune replies. {For a curse of this level, I need something more powerful than a wish spell.}

{Activating speed enhancement and camouflage.} Church says, activating what appeared to be powers of the armor.

The recording pauses as the image begins to blur.

Taking advantage of the silence that settles after the end of the film, I get up quickly, drawing everyone's attention. The young people's eyes turn to me, curious and anxious. The tension in the air is palpable, and I know I need to be direct and clear.

"What you have just seen," I begin, my voice echoing through the room. "was the most powerful and well-equipped Huntsman in the history of Remnant invading the castle of the Queen of the Grimm, destroying all the enemies he encountered along the way, even defeating Salem in combat."

Smiles break out on the young people's faces, congratulating Jaune, who does not share their enthusiasm, as he knows where I want to go with this topic.

"And yet he was not able to destroy her," I comment, tapping my cane on the floor for emphasis. "Mister Arc already expected not to be able to kill Salem, even with his powerful sword and incredible abilities. What do you think you are capable of doing?"

The students' eyes widened in apprehension at my warning.

"Right now, Salem is plotting her revenge against Jaune and against me," I inform, pointing my cane at everyone. "Do you want to be placed in the sights of her machinations?"

They exchange silent glances, the weight of my words still echoing in the air. Jaune, with a serious expression, stands up to speak.

"I understand that this is a lot to process," Jaune begins, his voice firm but gentle. "It would be a great honor for me to have you all by my side in this war. But you need to think carefully before joining."

I see the faces of the young people, each of them reflecting a range of emotions: determination, fear, confusion.

Glynda, ever practical, stands up to speak amidst the chaos.

"My dear students," Glynda says, her voice clear and authoritative. "I ask that you at least think for a day before making any decision, but no later than the end of the week we would like to hear it. I want you to know that you can continue your lives as normal Huntsmen and Huntresses, protecting humanity, without participating in this Shadow War."

Ruby's eyes gleam with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. Weiss, ever calculating, seems lost in thought, her fingers drumming nervously on her knees. Mister Lien stares with intensity. Nora and Yang exchange determined glances, while Pyrrha and Blake maintain a more reserved but equally thoughtful expression.

Jaune nods, his eyes meeting mine for a brief moment. There is a mutual understanding, a silent respect between us. He knows that this decision is not easy, and that each of them needs to find their own way on this journey.

"I understand that this is a lot to process," Jaune repeats, his voice softer now. "But I want you to know that, regardless of your decision, I will not judge you or think less of you."

The young people exchange apprehensive glances, whispering among themselves, but soon fall silent when Miss Nikos stands up. Her eyes, normally so gentle, now shine with a fierce determination. She takes a deep breath, as if preparing for an internal battle.

"Will you keep fighting?" Pyrrha questions, looking at Jaune. "Even though your attack against her was uneffective."

Frowning seriously, Jaune nods in silence.

"But you could die," Pyrrha says worriedly.

Without hesitation, Jaune replies confidently:

"Then I will die fighting."

Jaune's simple but determined answer takes Pyrrha and the others by surprise. The young woman's eyes widen, but she soon relaxes, smiling as if she should have expected a simple and determined answer.

Taking a few steps forward, the champion of Mistral approaches Jaune, who bows slightly to look Miss Nikos directly in her eyes.

"Out of respect for Professor Goodwitch, I will wait 24 hours to say my decision," says the champion of Mistral, looking at her partner. "But it has already been made."

Jaune's eyes widened for a second, worried about his partner.

"Wait, Pyrrha, maybe-."

Any complaint that young Mister Arc was going to make was cut off by Miss Nikos, who pulled him by the neck and gave him a deep kiss in front of everyone.

"Ooooooh!" Most of the youngsters exclaimed in surprise.

After a few seconds of a kiss that stupefied Mister Arc, Pyrrha separates, looking him in the eyes before speaking:

"No matter what you're going to do, Jaune. I will always be by your side."

Blinking his eyes, Jaune focuses on his partner with a tender look and pulls her into a hug, reciprocating her feelings.

Shocked, everyone present, young and old, stares at the scene with their jaws dropped in silence, until Miss Valkyrie stands up, shouting:

"Finally!" Said the little redhead, clapping her hands. "Fucking finally!"

Despite the broken silence, some were still shocked by Miss Nikos' bold action.

"Wait!" exclaims Miss Xiao Long, standing up. "Besides jumping the gun, did the cereal girl just propose to Jaune?"

"She didn't mean like-." Jaune tries to say, but is cut off by the redhead in his arms.

"Yes!" Says the champion of Mistral, all smiles in her leader's arms. "And he accepted."

"Inconceivable!" Shouts Miss Schnee, standing up frustrated. "We had agreed that I would marry Jaune and you would be his concubines."

"We never agreed to that, Schnee," says Pyrrha, releasing Jaune and glaring at Weiss furiously.

"You guys made plans to marry me?" Jaune questions, startled.

"You didn't include me?" Ruby questions, shocked.

"Sorry, sis, but you're too young," says Yang, dismissing Ruby with a wave of her hand.

"What's the maximum number of concubines?" Questions Miss Belladonna, raising a notepad.

"Shut up, Blake," her teammates and Pyrrha reply in unison.

The chaotic moment unfolds into more discussion among the young people, focusing attention on Mister Arc while.

Adjusting her glasses, Glynda sighs wearily before speaking:

"The guardians of humanity and faunuskind, almost killing each other over teenage romance."

A small laugh escapes my lips, making the professor look at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Let them be, Glynda," I affirm, waving my hand. "Their lives are only going to get more complicated from now on."

As their squabbles hits a crescendo the subject of their discussion gets a little out of hand.

"You guys need to organize this harem better." Miss Belladona comments, smiling.

"Can't a guy go and found a nation without having a harem made for him behind his back?" Complains Jaune

"Among Royals it's more common than you think." Mr. Lie says in a monotone.

Was Audras "bovine" related animal feature her overall thickness?
Man, your comment made me laugh.

But to explain why you didn't notice her Faunus trait, and no, it's not her "overall thickness" or "Fresh Milk from the Tap," like Gur40 suggested (though I admit, I was tempted to go there).

Audra had a cow tail… which was "removed."

I had planned to explain why she no longer has a tail, but I noticed from the comments that many people weren't enjoying the Menagerie Arc, so it wasn't addressed in the story to shorten the Arc.

I do plan to elaborate on this in the future, but I won't go into details here to avoid spoilers.

COMMENTS:
Bandit King[questionablequesting]:

Dude seeing Adam with such a innocent joyful look on his face is off-key terrifying, I'm getting Aizen vibes from.
Avip:
I changed two things in Adam's story to make him a good guy.
1 - There's no SDS branded on his face.
2 - It will appear in future chapters if I continue this story.

[Salem]

I find myself kneeling, surrounded by the wreckage of what was once my throne. The cold stone presses against my skin, a cruel reminder of my defeat. The silence is deafening, broken only by my heavy breathing, an act I haven't done in centuries, but I find myself doing to quell my fury that threatens to consume everything.

How could this have happened? I, the Immortal Queen of Grimm, defeated by a mere mortal. The humiliation is unbearable, but what truly gnaws at me is the realization that I was pathetic. Pathetic for throwing everything I had at that brat and still he surpassed me.

"He dared to cut and stab me, as though I were nothing but some mindless beast, fit only to be toyed with in the depths of his wretched experiments!"

My eyes turn to Tyrian's unconscious body. I taste a bitter relief in my mouth that he didn't see any of it.

"Had he glimpsed even a fragment of it, I would have been forced to annihilate him, to ensure this humiliation never dared stain the world.." I mutter, composing myself.

As soon as I stand up, anger begins to replace humiliation.

"That despicable brat… he will burn for every moment of pain, for every second of shame he dared force upon me!"

With a gesture, I invoke black smoke from my hand. From the smoke, tentacles emerge, leaping towards the unconscious body of my most loyal servant.

"Ozma wields a truly formidable piece, one that unnervingly tips the scales in his favor," I murmur, carrying Tyrian through the castle corridors. "Then it seems the time has come for me to forge one of my own."

My steps echo against the cold stone as I carry Tyrian through the dark corridors of my castle.

As I begin to descend the stone staircase that stretches before me, winding downwards like the tail of an ancient creature. Each step is a reminder of my long existence, of all the battles I have fought and won... until today.

As soon as I reach the entrance to the cave system beneath my castle, I hear a whisper so low it almost escapes me.

"Mistress..." Tyrian, still with his eyes closed, begins to regain consciousness. "F-Forgive me." He pleads desperately.

The insane devotion of this faunus had been amusing at first, but over time it became tedious as I tried to ignore it as if it were white noise.

Today I intend to use it.

"Tyrian Callows," I murmur, drawing the scorpion Faunus's gaze. "Tell me… have you caught wind of Cinder's little project? That pitiful bull Faunus whelp she fawns over, so desperate to shape into a weapon?"

Tyrian's face contorts into a grimace of contempt. He quickly tries to hide it, but the bitterness is evident in his eyes, which begin to open.

Even so, his devotion to me remains unwavering. He replies with a forced indifference, as if trying to disguise the true venom in his words.

"The young one is blinded by his emotions, my Goddess. He gets lost in futile feelings, instead of dedicating himself to what is truly important." His voice trembles slightly, but he quickly composes himself. "The devotion to the great Goddess Salem, queen of all Grimm."

His eyes gleam with a manic intensity, reflecting the dim light of the torches that illuminate the cave. Tyrian's devotion is an inextinguishable flame, an obsession that consumes him completely. He would do anything for me, and that is something I have always appreciated about him.

"And you, Tyrian?" I ask, my voice silk over steel. "Do you serve me out of true devotion… or are you simply drunk on the chaos I permit you to indulge?"

He raises his head, his eyes meeting mine with painful intensity.

"My life is yours, my lady. Every breath, every beat of my heart, everything belongs to you."

Satisfaction spreads through my being. Tyrian may be chaotic and unpredictable, but his loyalty is unquestionable. He is a valuable tool, and I intend to use him to the fullest.

"Good," I purr, a wicked smile curling on my lips. "Because we have far to go… and I need you at your very best, not wallowing in this pitiful, utterly deplorable state you've so recklessly let yourself fall into."

He nods sadly, apologizing once more:

"Forgive me for my weakness, Goddess. But I think Watts might be able to patch me up with his machines."

"No," I say coldly, my voice echoing like ice through the vast cavern as I come to a halt.

Around us, the cavern seems to close in, as if the very walls were listening to our conversation.

"My 'Hound' process relies exclusively on silver-eyed warriors," I explain, my gaze locked on the vast lake of black, tar-like sludge before us. "He is formidable, yes, but it is his cunning that renders him truly dangerous… and his loyalty that makes him the perfect pawn."

Tyrian blinks his eyes, focused on me, clinging to every word that comes out of my mouth.

"Since the very dawn of my existence upon this wretched planet," I begin, my voice silk laced with venom, "Never have I encountered a servant as unfalteringly loyal as you, Tyrian Callows."

"M-My Goddess, I-I am not worthy-." he tries to stammer in humility, but I silence him with a tentacle wrapping around his mouth.

"But today… you have failed me," I hiss, my tone hardening to ice as I lower him beside the churning black lake, its surface writhing with crimson eyes and jagged, gnashing teeth. "For the first time, Tyrian Callows… you were weak."

In defeat, he simply looks down, humiliated.

"But rather than punish you… I offer you salvation," I declare, my voice laced with both cruelty and a twisted sense of mercy, as I gesture toward the black, seething lake.

His eyes widen, a mixture of hope and fear shining in them. He knows that my words are not empty, that every promise of mine carries enormous weight. Tyrian trembles, tears streaming down his face. He tries to speak, but his voice comes out choked, almost inaudible.

"M-My Goddess, I-I am not worthy of such a gift. I... I failed you."

I silence him sharply.

"Silence!" I roar, my voice a storm of authority as ethereal golden light envelops him, suffusing his form with an aura of divine cruelty. "I will remold you… into something greater, something that shatters the feeble confines of your current, miserable form."
My gaze sharpens, a sinister smile creeping across my lips.

"You will be the first of a new brood, Tyrian… the deadliest, most formidable force ever to serve me, forever more.!"

The magical glow around Tyrian lifts him off the ground, while tears still stream down the faunus's face.

"Yes, my Goddess. I will do anything for you."

Satisfied, I complete the enchantment of protection and vigor, necessary steps to keep Tyrian alive while he receives the cursed blessing of the God of Darkness without being destroyed first.

Slowly, I lower Tyrian's body into the black lake. As his feet sink into the liquid, his body convulses in pain. But instead of screaming in pain and agony, the scorpion faunus begins to laugh maniacally while crying with happiness.

"YES! YES!" Shouts the man illuminated by insanity. "I feel the weakness burn, it abandons my body to better serve my Goddess."

With each passing second, his body slowly sinks, more pain runs through his body, and Tyrian laughs louder, until he is completely submerged and his voice is silenced.

I maintain the enchantment of protection and vigor, feeling through the spell Tyrian's body thrashing and contorting within the lake of darkness. The black liquid bubbles, swallowing him even deeper, while his form transforms into something grotesque and powerful.

His limbs lengthen, becoming more robust and deadly. Sharp claws emerge from his fingertips, gleaming with a deep darkness. His skin peels away, revealing a new layer, hard and scaly black flesh, resistant to any attack. His eyes, once full of devotion, now glow with an intense red, reflecting the thirst for blood and destruction.

The sound of bones cracking echoes through the cavern as Tyrian's body reconfigures, adapting to its new form. The severed scorpion tail regenerates and lengthens, gaining sharp spines and a lethal stinger, dripping pure venom. His jaw widens, revealing rows of sharp teeth, ready to tear any enemy.

The lake of darkness bubbles more intensely as the transformation nears its end. Tyrian's body, now an abomination of power and destruction, begins to stabilize. The insane laughter subsides, replaced by a guttural roar, a sound that echoes through the cavern, announcing the arrival of a new being, ready to serve its goddess.

In an explosive leap amidst the viscous liquid, Tyrian jumps out of the water.

BOOM!

"Goddess,"
purrs the Grimm-faunus hybrid on his knees before me.

a1034436f185f39d073950dca04b397b.jpg

His appearance is that of an ebony demon wrapped in sharp bones, with claws capable of tearing steel and red eyes that burn with pure hatred. His presence is pure carnage, a living weapon made to destroy everything that breathes, without mercy, without pause. In other words:

"Perfection."

[Jaune Arc]

After the weird news about me having harem I didn't even know about, the headmaster asked his students to go back to their rooms.

I wanted to talk to the others before sleeping, tell them a little about the things I did in Menagerie. But a cold glance from Glynda, followed by a scold reminding me that I had already missed two days of classes in addition to what I had already lost from my suspension, was enough to make me fold and go to bed like a 'good boy'.

Now in the room, I've already showered and am just finishing brushing my teeth.

"Gurururur-Ptooey!" Just finished.

I leave the bathroom, in just my boxers, finishing drying my hair with a towel. Pyrrha is sitting on one of the beds in the room, her eyes fixed on me without blinking, she has look of curiosity and concern on her face.

"Discovering that magic is real was already a big revelation, but Gods..." The Champion begins to speak. "And what did you mean by 'curses from gods' in the recording? Why is that so difficult to deal with?"

I stop drying my hair, the towel hanging around my neck. I look at her, trying to find the right words.

"It's not something I can explain easily, Pyrrha," I began, looking in her direction. "But I'll give you a quick and dirty version."

I take a small notebook and make a simple drawing of two witches with lines next to them.

"The first draw is a witch casting a hiccup spell, the second she is casting a hiccup curse."

Pyrrha blinks, confused at first, looking at the identical drawings, but she snuggles up next to me to pay more attention to what I'm saying.

'Jesus, this girl smells good.' I think, trying to focus with my head above my shoulder, so the one from below doesn't rise.

"They both seem to have the same result," says the champion, smelling lavender and pressing her body against mine. "But I imagine there are differences for them to have such distinct denominations."

"Correct," I affirm, focusing on the drawing, trying to ignore the cleavage of the pajamas next to me. "The result might be the same, making you hiccup, but a curse is more likely to be permanent and will be harder to remove than the spell."

Pyrrha nods her head, apparently following my line of reasoning.

I turn the page of the notebook and this time draw two identical figures with halos, representing Gods.

"Magic made by a god has the same chance of permanence and difficulty of being removed as a curse made by a mortal witch-." I begin to speak, but am cut off by Pyrrha.

"So a God's curse will definitely be permanent and even harder to remove?" Pyrrha questions, trying to anticipate the information.

"Exactly," I say, pulling her into a hug, celebrating her getting it right. "Some gods can curse an entire bloodline, everyone would be born with the hiccup curse."

"That's so cruel," says Pyrrha, frowning in irritation. "Children shouldn't inherit the sins of their parents."

"I agree," I affirm, closing the notebook. "But just because they're gods doesn't mean they're not assholes."

My comment makes Pyrrha fall back on the bed, laughing melodiously.

I stand up from the bed to put the notebook in the closet, Pyrrha's laughter still echoing in my ears. When I turn around, I finally notice a big change in the room. The four single beds have been replaced by two king-size beds, taking up more space and changing the entire layout of the room.

"When did this happen?" I ask, pointing to the beds, genuinely surprised.

Pyrrha, still laughing, gets up and comes to my side, hugging my arm, looking at the new beds.

"The beds?" She shrugs. "I used them as a bargaining chip for Nora to behave while you were gone."

"And why did you also change our beds?" I question, raising an eyebrow. "And where are Ren and Nora?"

Another laugh escapes Pyrrha's lips once more, but this time it sounded mischievous and full of… thirst?

A chill runs down my spine at the situation; I instinctively try to take a step back, but an invisible force compels my body to stay still.

"What?" Looking at my body, I notice a faint black glow covering me. "Pyrrha?" I question worriedly.

In response, the redhead gets up, letting her hair down. Blood-red strands cover part of her face as the champion takes slow steps while beginning to unbutton her pajamas.

"Your friend… Church." Pyrrha whispers in a predatory tone drenched in lust. "He told me you went through a very dangerous process to become stronger and… big."

She punctuates the sentence by placing her left hand on my abdomen, only to then caress it towards my waist.

"Part of the process are the implants that allow your AI to help you in battle, aren't they?" Pyrrha questions, despite already knowing the answer. "And it seems to me that some of these implants scattered throughout your body are metallic, aren't they?"

I swallow hard, staring at the redhead who begins to remove the bottom part of her pajamas.

"Your little blue man isn't available, is he?"

"He said he needed to oversee some server maintenance in Menagerie," I replied, confused.

"And you believed him, Jaune?" Pyrrha asks in a tone of fake disappointment. "I adore that beautiful blond airhead of yours, but you need to pay more ATTENTION!" She yells, pressing me against the wall using her hand and her Semblance. "And we finally have the room all to ourselves-."

"I LIED!" I shouted, drawing Pyrrha's attention.

Wide green eyes stare at me, confused.

"I lied to you, Pyrrha…"

Shaking her head, the champion releases me from the grip of her semblance; with the mood broken, she questions me curiously:

"Explain yourself."

Taking a deep breath, I begin to explain what I lied about.

"The first day I met you, Pyrrha, I lied," I admit, looking directly into her eyes. "I knew who you were even before I arrived at Beacon. I knew about your achievements, your fame, everything."

Pyrrha frowns, crossing her arms and staring at me with all the menace a hot redhead female athlete in red lingerie could muster.

"And did you why lie about that?"

"Because I wanted to get closer to you," I confess, my voice firm. "I knew that if I acted like a fan or someone who already knew you, you would distance yourself. So, I pretended not to know anything."

Pyrrha lets out a sigh, looking away for a moment before looking back at me.

"So everything we went through that day was just a plan to get close to me?"

I shake my head, denying it.

"Not everything, just at our meeting in the locker room, the rest of the day, I swear I was genuine with you."

She observes me staring deep into my eyes, trying to read my expression.

"Why did you lie to get close to me? Why are you telling me this now?"

I shrug, a sad smile on my lips.

"I wanted to come clean to you for a long time, and things are moving so fast," I say, pointing to the redhead in her underwear. "Now, as for why I lied…"

I understand the moment in an incidental silence; Pyrrha approaches, looking at me nervously at what I am about to reveal to her.

"...because I've always liked you," I replied loudly and clearly.

"What?" Pyrrha questions, confused. "That's it?"

I nod vigorously in confirmation, making the champion of Mistral continue in a frustrated tone.

"Wasn't it to have a strong partner?" she asks, still studying me. "To gain access to my fame and my influence?"

Beneath her serious, threatening facade, I catch a glimpse of a confused and hurt Pyrrha. Guilt pricking at me for wounding her, I swallow hard and reply.

"Being 100% honest, I thought: 'Look, a beautiful redhead who, despite being famous, is kind and humble'."

An uncomfortable silence settles between us; Pyrrha was lost in deep thought, processing what I had just told her.

She closes her eyes for a few seconds, taking a deep breath only to then open them and slap me.

SLAP!

"Ouch!" I complained, even though it didn't hurt that much.

"Jaune Romée Arc!" Pyrrha exclaims furiously.

'Oh yeah, I keep forgetting my middle name is Romée.'

"I don't like at all the fact that you lied to me on our first meeting, especially with the aim of manipulating what I think of you." She complained to me.

"Sorry."

"Silence," ordered the redhead, wearing only underwear. "I don't want to hear your excuses."

I obey, closing my mouth, and can't help but find this commanding side of Pyrrha, so unlike anything I've seen of her, so unusual.

"You basically lied just to get close to the girl you liked," Pyrrha summarizes. "That doesn't make you a bad person… just a lovesick, dumb teenager."

"Oooooooh!" I reply, realizing she was right.

"I swear, Jaune, this exaggerated sense of responsibility of yours is both your greatest virtue and your deepest flaw."

"He-he! Sorry-." I try to say.

"What did I say about excuses?" said the redhead with a furious look.

I fell silent instantly, swallowing hard, while she continued to speak:

"This is nothing, Jaune. What matters is that you didn't use me, that you were genuinely interested in me as a person, not a means to a end" Pyrrha affirms.

I am taken by relief, washing away all the weight I still felt in my consciousness.

"You had me worried for a second, but it's no big deal."" Pyrrha says, breathing a sigh of relief. "It's not like you hooked up with another woman behind my back."

Even with super-soldier serum and the hybrid Spartan-II and Freelancer operative procedure, I was unable to maintain a poker face when Pyrrha mentioned hooking up with another woman… something she noticed instantly.

"Explain yourself," commands the redhead in an icy yandere tone.

Big news, short version:
Starting in November, I'll be posting a total of 5 chapters per month, each from a different story, instead of 8 chapters total, with 2 chapters for each of 4 stories.

[#] Big news, long version:

First, I want to thank my subscribers. You're helping my family, but also you're giving me hope that I can one day make a life from my writing.

The support I've received on Ko-fi has been a huge help for me and my family, but it hasn't been enough for me to dedicate myself fully to writing. I'll definitely keep writing and working on growing my audience, but I also took on a job to help cover some bills.

Right now, I already have enough material prepared to keep my usual release until October. After that, I'll likely need to slow down a little, though I won't be stopping. Writing is the only 'productive' thing I do that truly brings me joy and pride.

One idea I'm considering is shifting to 5 chapters per month instead of 8. I'll be posting a total of 5 chapters per month, each from a different story, instead of 8 chapters total, with 2 chapters for each of 4 stories.

And which story is taking that fifth slot? It's 'RWBY NOT!', since it has been drawing a lot of comments on several platforms.
