I like both really. They each have their unique appeal.
Sounds like the sort of thing Gold Ship once did to Fenomeno (but it didn't work). Still, while it probably unnerve some of the newer racers, I do think veteran racers would be more used to intimidation tactics (or learn to avoid it like what Tamamo did). Also, regarding each Uma level of skitishness, Uma tend to diverge a lot in that regard and whether or not an Uma is skittish tend to be divorced from their irl version level of skitishness. The unnervingly quiet girl suddenly screaming a warcry would probably spook a lot of the umas. Given that even some of the more serious uma are actually a bit skittish (like Narita Brian being scared of his shadow), it would be something akin to a debuff skill that unnerves nearby racers.
Considering the general requirement (at least in game) for higher grade races are fans, I can imagine that losers are basically pressured to at least join several winning concert to at least increase their number of fans or improve their public image. Its not a fun experience, but Uma racing can be pretty brutal at times.I think there was an event in Haru Urara's career where one of umas is crying backstage before going out to dance, so there seems to be quite a lot of pressure to perform.
Seems like Shiro is the ideal type of the 'thinking' racers. The one that actively strategize during a race. Usually those types tend to do pretty well in most races, but can get blindsided when freak of talents is present (which considering her era, is gonna be a lot). She's a different kind of try hard. She hasn't been training for racing specifically, but is probably comparable in physical fitness, while being superior in desensitization and inferior in public relations training.
