Re: Sliver Legion [MtG/???]

I won't be surprised if because we split our attention to so many places, we don't get an idea of what we can hunt safely.

[X] In the rivers and lakes; food will likely be more plentiful, though not as varied.

Basically the safest place to be in NGE is in the ocean. Would rather work on this first before doing any other place.

I agree so:

Sorry for lack of update; my body decided to remind me that it's spring by making my lungs and nose forget how to retain air and my head to forget what not having migraines was like.

Update will come in a couple of hours or so; looks like:

At the mere thought of being constrained to a single spot, and single terrain; you instincts and something deeper within you roils, appalled at the very though of limitation. No, no you will not be limited, contained in a single realm; you will reach out and hunt all you can, growing, evolving, and hunting further. You will expand your territory, your hive to the very stars themselves. You will be as endless as time itself, a new universal constant in the multiverse; nothing will stop you, you will overcome any challenge you face.

Never again...

You feel hunger strike you once again and you decide on your next course of action. You traverse the cliffs, heading to their peak; once there...

You jump, feeling the wind blowing on your face as you fall; heading closer and closer to the ground...

Only to immediately feel wings erupt from your back and you rise toward the clouds; free from the restraining hold of gravity (+Flight). You then dive into the lake, swimming deeper and deeper; feeling something erupt from the sides of your head to allow you to breathe while underwater (+Gills). Once you reach the bottom, you begin to swim up; using your wings to help you ascend to the surface.

Once you break free from the water, you see prey above you; something that is both reptilian and plant. You quickly fly towards it, and impale it from below; out of it's sight. Once you consume the rest of the body, you fly off; looking for a place to rest.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Two years have passed; two years of roaming this land, this simulacrum of a wild landscape. You hunted all across it, unbound by any constraints. You grew wings to reach the skies, gills to breathe water, and camouflage to hide and stalk the wilderness. You had not one nest but several; your nomadic lifestyle lending itself to having a less centralized nest but rather several on your typical travel paths.

Not only did you eat and roam, but you also grew and adapted. In the forest you feasted on giant spiders, living plants, and ooze (+Reach, +???, +???). By the rivers and in the lakes you devoured basilisks, frogs, and beasts of cytoplasm (+???, +???, +Deathtouch). When you roamed the free skies you ate flying serpents, manta beasts, and drakes made of plants (+Improved Flight, +???).

But now....now you were ready to hunt stronger prey; like the Sky Swallower, that which reigned supreme over the skies and seas. It is only rivaled by the monstrous hulk that ruled the jungles with it's hoard born from it's own flesh. The hulk will be your next target; your next kill to feed off of and grow stronger. Then you will establish dominance over the land, then....you will breed...

But first, you must hunt down That Which Devours the Skies...

FYI, while there are a lot of traits hidden with -???, you can likely infer what those abilities are by looking at what you ate to get them. Just in case you wanted to use some of those abilities in the oncoming battle.

They're -??? because a lot of the traits you currently have will become your starting sliver breeds you can make when we're out of the prologue.

Re: Sliver Legion [MtG/???]

One of those links for the flyers was to the same card, Ender.

Also, one of those ??? Has to be land manipulation. That Frog could alter the environment around itself, so that's something.

Gimme a minute to try and figure out the rest.

[X] Eat one of the Hulk's SPAWN and grow STRONGER!

(X) We need more information in order to attack something so much larger than us. Study it´s habits and plan accordinly.
THere is more to a succesful hunter than raw strength, speed and abilities. You also need to use your mind. Vision.

It seems Biigoh wins quite clearly.

Question though, how does this ameboid help us take on that giant?

[X] Eat one of the Hulk's SPAWN and grow STRONGER!
- - [X] STALK That Which Devours the Skies...
- - - - [X] Study it's habits and STRIKE when it is weak!

You decide to hunt one of the Hulk's spawn, to take it's strength as your own so that you may better fight against That Which Devours the Skies. Quickly you dive into the jungle, and your hide changes color to match the terrain, so that you may better stalk your prey. You quickly move through the forest towards the Hulk's territory; time is of the essence, the longer it takes you to hunt a Hulkspawn, the more likely the Hulk will be there to retaliate.

Fortunately, you find one; a amoebic blob the color of the odd cysts on many wildlife of this land. It's small enough for you to immediately devour in a single gulp, and leave the jungle at the same time. So you do; the moment you lunge you swallow the spawn whole and jump back into cover, leaving the jungle as soon as you can.

Already you can feel your body adapting what abilities the spawn had for your own use (+???), but you feel that it won't serve any use against your true prey. Still, anything that you consume serves to make you stronger, and you'll need all the strength you can get against the Sky Swallower.

However, strength isn't all you need against such a mighty foe; to kill that which you hunt, you must know your prey intimately. And thus you stalked The Devourer, always out of it's notice, but always watching. Learning how it hunts and fights, how it kills. Waiting for the right opportunity to strike. You learn that it uses it's bulk as it's main weapon, battering away enemies with a swing of it's serpentine body. It also grabs it's prey with the tentacles at the front of it's head to drag it to it's razor filled maw. Heavily-armored, it doesn't fear the blows of the lesser denizens of the skies, where it reigns as king.

Finally, the time comes; That Which Devours the Skies has fought off a swarm of the Manta Beasts of the skies, and while victorious, has been wounded. Injured more than you've ever seen it been in your lifetime.

The time to strike is now; but how?

[X] -??? (Devise opening blow and strategy)

Alright, since I did a bit of a rush job on the update I forgot to put up more common knowledge on your target; so here it is:
- That Which Devours the Skies doesn't have a lair, the very skies themselves serve as its nest
- You haven't seen The Devourer ever land. Ever. It is always in the skies; always.

But it must sleep in a particular area?

[X] Go for the Throat
-[X] If you can't kill it in the opening blow, dance around it and bleed it to death with a thousand cuts.

Guys, are you certain you want to "go for the throat" when the guy you are hunting has tentacles right there?

http://magiccards.info/di/en/130.html

Maybe going from the top and to the eyes would be the best? If we approach from behind while it´s still hurt, it might not notice us and gets us a change to barreling straight to it´s brains.

[X] Attack from above and behind try to take out it's brain.
[X] If first strike doesn't kill it try to grab onto it so as not to allow it to use it's bulk to it's advantage. Savage the area you are grabbing on to. Stay out of range of tentacles at all costs.

[X] Attack from above and behind try to take out it's brain. If it is suitable, attack it's wounds further.

Because "go for the throat" is an instant kill spell, and the Sky Swallower wasn't an artifact last I checked.
