Sneaking His Way into the Multiverse (RWBY Jaune, WC-lite mechanics)

Man, we were that close to this being a normal day for them. Sadly Jaune, the Outsider, Patrons and other people watching this happen need EUPHORIA and amusement so this'll do for now lmao. Also, reading through this chapter...is it just me or is Jaune getting homesick? Might just be me. Doesn't help that he can't literally return back home or try to see some of the people he's made as friends for one reason or another, because he's still not considered an official Agent. I don't know if I missed it somewhere, but I'm still wondering how exactly he'll help his original world and friends because, well, they did get Waifu-contracted after all from...what's his name.

No, legitimately, I forgot his name. What was it?

Either way, hopefully he can come to a resolution sooner or later. Preferably with the wondrous Lisa by his side and any future companions along the way...the Outsider not withstanding, he's just there with the popcorn.

We must appreciate those non action moments when we get them. Jaune and Lisa having someone to talk with since Dishonored must be really relaxing for them.

Lisa lies like breathes, without a thought. I wonder how it all started. Did Misaka assumed that those two in a relationship and Lisa just rolled with it? Or she purposely led Misaka to think that way? In any way, she has a great talent in misleading 14 years old girls. Like she already did something like this before.

Jaune trying to be a good bro for local electromaster is sweet. Too bad that neither Misaka or Touma making it easy.

I noticed that Jaune wasn't really against the idea to steal from university. Is it Lisa's influence? Or he somehow decided that nobody will get hurt from it?
He really need someone who would play a role of angel on his other shoulder.

Что купила Лиза?
Probably something embarrassing like risky underwear to show Misaka how much a grown up she is. Or women's hygiene stuff.

Wondering what Esper Jaune would be like. If he was born in this world he definitely would have been a Gemstone. Esper and Aura mixing should be nearly perfect too, maybe Aura Amp would simply become Amplify? An ability that is as strong as it is simple would fit Jaune especially if it has "hidden" potential.

This chapter was very much needed for tattletale and jaune.
They were jumping through worlds in conflict or had to battle against so many things, a little time to relax would do wonders on their minds.

I love the romcom shenanigans (especially Tats digging a hole trying to appear worldly) but I don't recognise the cliffhanger stuff.
Что купила Лиза?
Considering that with the power blocker collar she is in the process of rediscovering her sex drive I'm guessing it's a... er, 'personal massager'. She wouldn't react this strongly to Jaune knowing she bought some racy underwear or something.

It was my first thought too. However, I believe that she still in that stage when buying such things is too much for her to handle. Especially, considering that she has a roommate who sleeps few meters away from her and Misaka was with her the entire shoping process. Plus, they are in Mall for students, underage students. Sex toys are likely to be sold in more hidden places.

Hot topic in any mall in America. Could be using that train of thought for this mall. Although it could of been for misaka instead of her idk.

Hmmmmm.

I see they're caught in an event of sorts.
It's like the writer is some kind of sadist that can't let them have one nice, quiet day.

This continues to be the best multicrossover story ive read in a long while.

Keep cookin my guy!
Thank you for saying so, I will do my best.

Looks like someone's doing an acquisition, or an interview, and doesn't want witnesses.
...Not quite?...But then...sorta?
Strangely insightful, you are.

Also, reading through this chapter...is it just me or is Jaune getting homesick?
At least, a sense of normality, of which in his mind Beacon represented.

Что купила Лиза?
She'll never tell.

Is the Fox preparing to chase the Doggo?
If she is, then this chapter would be quite emblematic of process. A whole long sequence of disasters...

He was facing against a tsundere and a shounen protagonist. Dark Souls has no boss as strong as this.
Unlike individuals or a store, educational institutions hold a special place in Jaune's heart...in that he already has prior history of committing crimes against them and coming out of it smelling like roses 🤣 . Personal experience informs him that he'd gain more than he loses, and nobody would get hurt too badly. Biased by success, let's call it.

Jaune misplaced his angel back in Brockton Bay...

Is thus the one where the church invades academy city?
Bingo. Plus a few other things.

Honestly, I think that fits Ruby or Cinder more. Or Neo.
He'd be the Level 0, or Level 1 max, that forged evidence to pretend to be a higher level and would end up convincing most people of it. His story would be one of rubbing shoulders with the Level 5's, desperately trying to survive the position he had put himself in because they all want to fight for some reason.

Right? Fight after fight after fight would wear anyone down.
It would get tiring to read about, too.

Raildex really does have way too many things happening one after the other. There's entire volumes that I would forget until I reread them, because of how overshadowed they get by the rest of the plot.

What's the event? It's been a long time since I read this series
So I had to double check everything that happened this day... this singular day. Literally just one freaking day.

This is the Academy City Invasion Arc. It's mainly on the Magic-side, though Science does get involved a bit as well.

Long story short, it all began when the Christians invaded Academy City.
Some plans kick in from the Science side as a counterattack, which leads to Accelerator getting his ass handed to him by a level 0 for the second time in his life.
People start to fall asleep due to a city-wide spell, and the Christians are murdering them the anti-Vampire way via wooden stake to the... well, i would say heart but its big enough for the heart, lung, and a few other organs.
Few other things happen after all that, like an Angel being created, Vento getting punched in the face, someone gets turned into a comet, etc.

My guess for this story specifically is that Jaune and Lisa are somehow immune to the city-wide spell, and they work to stop the impaling Christians that they kind of just run into. Or maybe they'll take advantage of the situation and grab as much tech shit as possible first, then help out when they notice the wooden Christians.

Nah, I see the forged evidence part but it would be something stupid, like him not knowing what a Gemstone is and pretending he's a totally normal Esper "Please don't cut me open" and because of it he sorta cripples himself in understanding his powers, limiting his level. Could even be a whole fight with his Esper friends about how he could have grown into a lvl 5 already if he trusted them but he's been like a lvl 3 for a year. Probably just using his ability to be a non flying brick.

Then one of the smarter characters screams because he can Amplify anything but chose to fist fight instead.

lol! Jaune Arcs first and strongest ability, Bullshit.
Lisa: "I could totally seduce him if I wanted to. He wouldn't know what hit him."
Jaune: 'What the fuck are you doing? Do I need to find you a hospital?"

Cheerfully obliging, Jaune clasped his right hand with Kamijou's in a tight grip.

And then he whimpered, because all of a sudden he felt strength leave his body, exhaustion taking hold. The feeling had not grown in a gradual process, but struck him with its full force at once, a sucker punch to which he had no defense.
I'm pretty sure when Jaune's Aura broke there should've been a glass breaking sound. AFAIK activating Imagine Breaker always makes a glass breaking sound.

I kinda like this version more. In other dimension where RWBY writers were actually good, Jaune would be their Koby. Someone with big potential who becomes great through hard work and dedication. Jaune who could have been OP from the beginning but wasn't because he just couldn't realize his true capabilities sounds like something what Jaune would do.

Great story, I think the only negative point is how Jaune seems to simply not gain anything in most of his adventures.

I would really be happy if he could at least sell things like money, gold and the weapons he looted even if for low values like 1 to 3 points each just so the instances don't seem useless for the most part.

I understand why they have so much trouble getting something good, but at the same time it's kind of frustrating to see Jaune and Lisa barely able to buy a dimensional pocket even after everything they've been through. Darksouls was one that I found especially disappointing since they should have at least been able to accumulate at least some low value items to sell in the store given how the drops are in the game.

Isn't it also because for now they are traveling though a system meant to send them to places of loot and danger? So there's not supposed to be nice quiet places amongst their choices.
Not quite. Events could be anything, and if they hit a 0 Danger Rating place, it's going to be one of those worlds were the original source material is about high school life, medical drama, running a coffee shop, or similar.

Oooh this is a pretty nice plot. I like it.

Glad you're enjoying it!
I get it. A story can be frustrating when progress is stilted and uneven, and for their struggle it would be nice to see some payoff.
I can say, it is part of of the plan.
But even more than that, it is part of the point.
They started out with not much, and are still near the beginning of their journey; resources are low, uncertainty is high, they haven't developed experience with the process, and there's no metaknowledge to point them in the direction of the good stuff. A character in that situation, their first steps would involve the accumulation of the littlest things, selling what they can spare, then using that to build upward.
And so, for them, each power they gain and each feat they accomplish becomes a wondrous thing, never relegated to a casual, one-line mention as part of a checklist where their only purpose is to be a measure of the world's completion rate.

I do have one for Jaune, and two for Tattletale.
Plot twist: the work of fiction Jaune's familiar with is The Girl Who Fell Through the World. You know, the one that an older Jaune wound up self inserted into for completely unrelated reasons. That would be a fun meet up.
As for Tats... Maggie Holt series maybe?
The thing about Maggie Holt is that on Bet, it's a series for children, seemingly filling the same niche that Harry Potter does IRL. Maggie Holt however, is also a reference to the Otherverse, in particular Pact, one of Wildbow's non-Worm web serials. In Pact, Maggie Holt is side character who happens to give off major protagonist vibes. Pact as whole probably reads like an edgy fanfiction in comparison to the Maggie Holt series. Pact would be a fun place for them to visit- not only is there a ton of random BS for them to deal with and a potentially incredibly dangerous situation depending on when in the novel they show up, but it's also perversion of Tat's childhood fantasies with R-rated Goblins and whatnot.

Or they just visit Star Wars or something, we know that exists on Bet (and neither the Bet nor Aleph prequels were any good apparently).

Send them to the School Days. I want to see their reaction to the ending.
