Sneaking His Way into the Multiverse (RWBY Jaune, WC-lite mechanics)

So [BLANK] stops the OFF signal from the main Shard computer?

Or, and hear me out here, it is not because of [BLANK], but because there are two Lisa's and the Shard just uses the default address of Local Lisa when it has to mail her the bill.

So Local Lisa now has twice the headaches, both metaphorical and literal.

poor clone!Lisa. try not to be a clone next time

So, Jaune is going to work with heroes while Lisa navigate villains. Can't wait for future updates. It's going to be good.

Something tells me that from this moment Jaune going to wear that cape every given opportunity. Not because he likes it but because Sundancer gave it to him. It's his greatest treasure now.

Talking about Sundancer, I would like to discuss why Jaune is so fixated on her. Obvious answer is that he gave her a promise and he developed a crush. However, looking deeper, it might be because she is the first person who thanked him. Remember, this guy has inferiority complex, not as strong as in canon after the Fall of Beacon, but still has it. He probably never felt like he did something worthwhile and never received so much gratitude. Saving her and hearing those words probably was the biggest accomplishment for him.

Heh, the misunderstanding field will grow longer Jaune, your fellow blonde loli general op already experienced it.

Would've been funny to see GG confronting her family and her uncle about a "secret child" or something and somehow it happens or something. Heh.

Also, when will we encounter Best Girl Weiss?!

ngl, i was kinda iffy on the showing up to somers rock, since it seems just that much more efficient to sneak into bakuda bases, steal tech and sabotage bakuda on the downlow, than to show up to every villain in the city, and make enemies who will definitely break the truce should they feel like it, being unknown with loads of info was their biggest strength at the beginning. but I am kinda digging this, tattletale managing the villains, and jaune with his golden retriever energy managing the heroes is kinda interesting, if still pretty risky, I think tattletale is gonna fuck up at some point, she's way too smug about things, this is the kinda shit that got her cheek cut up by jack in canon. but it's less an issue to me now, mainly cause jaune is figuring out this whole hero bis pretty well.

...why was he so nervous about fighting the villains? They're weaklings! Jaune could stomp that entire group!
They really aren't, though blank do counter some of them, and some of them like Skitter would be fighting at a disadvantage since starting in close quarters is the worst for her.
For some reason, it seems to me that the house of a hero named HuntsMan will look like the house of a seasoned hunter, only instead of animal heads on the walls, there are villains' heads.
That isn't the house of a seasoned hunter, that's the house of a seasoned animal killer, a true hunter hunts for food(or to cull dangerous beasts threatening people) not for trophies.

Kinda want Jaune and the team travel to Murder Drones, post serie most likely since the serie has too many things that could kill them even with MH armor and aura, just to have Jaune and N interact and have someone, Lisa or V say that it's like having their respective golden retriever meeting a playmate.

Man, imagine Uzi. "KILL ALL HUMANS! *whispers* except for Jauney, he's cool. I guess. It has nothing to do with how I have TWO Ns now! Bite me!"
Tattlefield, bound and gagged: *furious noises*

Or Lizzie trying to have a mean-off with Tattletale. Kind of a shame Doll won't be there to be flashbanged by Jaune's golden retriever energy. Thad and Jaune are going to get along great, I can already tell. Maybe he'll even be the one to be gifted Aura.

Excuse me Worm has one hero and she is a precious dragon shaped death bot.
How dare you, there's Dauntless right there as well. From what little I read of him he's a good man who triggered after him and his pregnant girlfriend were caught in a landslide and he had to preform a impromptu C-section to save their kid, a great single father who tries his hardest to be there for his son, and a good hero who regularly attends therapy. Dauntless is on the ball as far as being a hero.

Uhhh... No, GG in class is absolutely a thing at one point. Or at least mentioned? I think during the Wards arc, Sentinel?

I'd also disagree on her being particularly low wisdom. Her problem is that she inherited her mother's black and white morality (she is still a teenager, too), she's been pseudo-law enforcement as a teenager in a setting and city that lets that fuck you up, she's desperate for approval and validation (especially from her family), and she's been insulated from consequences too often (both because of being a popular hero and also because of Amy).

Her two biggest dumb moments in Worm are against an E88 gangbanger (she has particularly strong reason to hate people like him and went overboard), and at the bank where her sister was in trouble (her sister was in danger and she stopped thinking). Neither is great, but they're not entirely unreasonable from her history. Certainly not the dumbest or least wise thing a smart person has ever done.

But Taylor thinks badly of her and that carries over into people's understanding, and Lisa's intentionally provocative insults get taken as both true and broadly known things as opposed to a mix of lies and truthful but nastily framed deductions. So she picked up a rep that has persisted ever since, especially because she got removed as a character more or less entirely after getting unlucky against the S9.

EDIT: Actually, thinking about it more, I think Aura Theory is partly to blame, too. People wanted a way to excuse Amy and it was easy to decide Vicky had unknowingly Mastered her, which makes things more her fault and is a mark against her for not noticing she was doing it. But canonically that wasn't happening, and is in no way required for what happened if we just assume that Amy isn't almost entirely innocent for what she does in the heat of the moment. But people want to identify with Amy and play with her cool power more than Vicky, I think, too.

Worm also does a bad job of indicating other things, or at least doesn't do a good enough job to avoid fanon latching on and spreading wildly, even if the evidence was there all along. Like Amy raping Vicky in between healing her during the S9 stuff, or Amy burning out at the hospital not requiring her to be there every hour of every day, or even most of them.
Also at the end of the day GG is a teenager. Teenagers doing dumb shit occasionally is not exactly news, she's just in a position where due to her powers she can quite easily kill people if she loses control for a second and she also has to fight villains in a crowded city frequently.

To Jaune's frank surprise, she did. Reluctantly, but she did.

Tattletale had told him little about her band of teenage ne'er-do-wells, touching on the broadest strokes whenever he asked. He always assumed she led them. The hierarchy on display, however, pointed to Grue as the leader of the team.

With the way the remaining Tattletale glared at Grue, she harbored some disagreement with that state of affairs, and appreciated neither the reminder nor his interference.
It's probably will be explained in the future but what is the reason for such reaction from Tattletale? Because she wanted to be leader? She doesn't like when someone gives her orders?

Did I get it right? Currently Jaune's superhero costume is a French suit made for a play? Does he have a hat too?

Also, other commentators were right, Jaune was incredibly lucky. Not because of successful deal with heroes but because of his random remark they can start subjugation of E88. Tattletale was the one who turned mistake into opportunity, though.

Question: What does 'exit(?)' exit to?
Is the apartment on a real planet or in some pocket dimension with windows merely faking outdoors.
If they ever escape that room, they'd find out.

If this is canon can you tell us where the dildo bat was stashed? I'm guessing between the counter and the portal pad. It's still "a corner" as per the description, doesn't take up a whole corner of the room that way, and it's kind of out of sight from most of the room.

This is of course utterly irrelevant but it's a funny detail that stood out.
Bottom right corner, pride of place!

Do they all share the air mattress like before?
Jaune claimed that air mattress as his personal territory. None other may enjoy its bounties... except Escha.

I can only express my deep, heart-rending sadness that Jaune didn't take on Solare or Astora as a hero name. Knightly, Fire-themed (as of obtaining the Rathalos Armor), possessing a Grossly Incandescent shield over his skin that can be shared with Jolly Cooperation and looking for a Sun of his own? What is this Jaune if not Solare's spiritual succesor?
Unfortunately, taking up the mantle of the HuntsMan is his destiny, engraved upon the prophecy that was RWBY Chibi.
Otherwise, he would absolutely become a Warrior of Sunlight.

...why was he so nervous about fighting the villains? They're weaklings! Jaune could stomp that entire group!
There's about ten different direct combat powers in that room.
Then, there's the multiple crowd control abilities, the mortal foe that is a teleporter, the escort mission target he has to mind of Tattletale (and to a less extent, Escha).
Oh, and a gorilla he has to fight without 99 other humans as backup.

2: Speaking of, sounds like he's got a new blonde follower. Unfortunately, she sounds kinda pissed at him. IE: Vicky (I'm guessing that's her that he's watching out for in the sky) is after his ass, not in the fun way. Did she wait till he reached the mainlaind before chasing him?
Thanks for reading!
She finds a person that might be family. Then, that person reveals he's working with villains. In her books, that requires some answers.
And yes. Glory Girl isn't going to accost the person who just made a deal with the PRT in front of their face. But out of sight, after she makes the excuse that she's 'going home'...

We all gather here to mourn the disappearance of the legendary pocho, may the pocho return next chapter with all his almighty radiance and aura.
Saturday is slowly becoming my fav day just because of this, glorious update!
Haha no worries on that. This chapter's costume comes from the villains' need to present a hero to the PRT. It's theater.

Lisa's kleptomania is getting out of hand. Not even Jaune's face is safe from her loot goblin clutches.
Nice catch. Thanks for that.

Being a leader is important to Grue. Being seen as the leader is important to Grue.
To Tattletale, that's just another person controlling her that she has to work around.

Yup, yup. He's wearing theater clothes chosen to make him look heroic in front of the actual heroes. No hats, though.

Lol and Tattletale was working overtime this chapter.

to be fair, its more on being "Dad" on Grue part, because ofcourse fucking Grue came from such a horrible and abusive dad whom thought beating up kid in boxing is good parenting..

Likely the same as canon Jaune? He's still Jaune, after all.
He'd react differently since hed see a world that hasn't been screwed up by a contractor and have hope to fix his own timeline. It also may change some things if he finds out about Salem.

Aura theory makes sense not due to wanting to excuse amy but the palvove effect and the effects something like that could have on someone exposed to it during a low period and at a certain age. It runs counter to what the author wanted but death of the author is a trope for a reason. When something isnt written or thought out well it happens like the masked guy from the Watchman and his perception.

The author's word is sometimes wrong, but not necessarily in this case. The author of Worm was also the same guy who got angry because a Worm mission wasn't as grimdark as he wanted.

Jaune ran a hand through his hair, trying to come to grips with the crazy new layer he had discovered about Earth Bet.

The city was in danger. The city was in danger. In such circumstances, corruption charges—consequences in general, really—were for afterward, if ever. This moment called for people to man the barricades

I like how Jaunes conditioning comes up here. Feels a lot like something from Frostpunk. "The city must survive!"

It's doubly interesting because characters from worm have a similar switch that only flips when a end-bringer shows up.

Interesting watching the difference between the two. Good job.
