Sneaking His Way into the Multiverse (RWBY Jaune, WC-lite mechanics)

make the timeline prune itself....

Nonsense. I'm sure Alaya/Gaia and the CF would pay no mind to a couple literal out-worlders.

I can feel the qq draining out of my soul…

Not sure if this means the lewd is draining or

But yes. Didn't wanna say it first but I fully ship FoxDog. Though these past chapters have expertly balanced that fine line where you'd have to really squint to see it vs just friends kind of thing. Not sure if slowburn or just tease.

Though I feel like @LazyAutumnMoon is focusing on general inter-character development with maybe a focus on Jaune. So I dig that.

To be honest it seems more like they have a brother and sister dynamic going. Which makes sense when you consider that Jaune grew up with many sisters, so he knows how to deal.

Oh man, I really wanted appearance of wild Misaka sister but I guess it's too early for them having a third party member. What makes me think how much people will join. My guess is four as maximum because working with more would be too hard and it would be enough for a proper team name.

What was in the bonus box that Crowley send? More weapons? Or some kind of technological marvel that will help them?

Those two becoming closer with time and I love it. So cute. Are they going to keep sleeping together just because non of them want to lose?

And Outsider probably feels less lonely now, when he knows that there are a lot of entities like him. Poor randoms who were sacrificed for other people goals.

They going to Yakuza verse? I can't wait for them meeting our lovable criminals. Just imagine their reaction.

Tattletale: W-what? How? What!? How the fuck this guy keeps appearing out of nowhere, everywhere we go!? Stop chasing us you psycho! I don't care about your tragic backstory and that this whole "Mad dog" thing is a facade!

Jaune: K-Kiryu!(sobbing). You are the greatest guy and dad I have ever met!(crying).

Then, he stopped in his tracks, because in the night, shapes were emerging from the shadows. Cars turned the corner to rumble down the road. Alleyways disgorged figures in faceless masks and body armors reminiscent of Hound Dog, with a number of insignias to differentiate them from each other.
Honestly? Probably the best thing they could have done for Academy City would have been to slaughter these dudes.

Index is a bizzare setting. I've felt like something was missing for a while, and I've just hit on what it was.
Fear. Fear of consequences.

Every single person in that setting acts like their power, their body-armour, their magic, their organization is going to insulate them from the consequences of their actions. It's why people pick fights with Accelerator. It's why people pick fights with Touma.
Touma's entire gimmick is shattering people delusion of invincibility, but it's clear this defect is in evidence even on the little people.

These guys need to be culled to the point where next time some shady lab wants to kidnap people off the street to vivisect, they can't find enough mercenaries to take the job.

Edit: A Yakuza arc would be fucking sweet.

Every minor disagreement resulting in grown men trying to murder you in the street, followed by 'theme of sad' playing for 40 goddamn years.
"I know I shot you with a real gun over a minor disagreement involving a Dragon Quest game, but you see, *Theme of Sad begins playing* my son really wanted that game and this might be my last chance to reconnect with him after a life of crime as a yakuza hitman."

"I know I threatened to sex-traffick your friend, and have in fact sex-trafficked multiple other girls in the past, but you have to understand. I have a tragic backstory. You see... *theme of sad begins playing* my sister was sex-trafficked when I was a young boy."

Then we have Misaka Mikoto, who somehow wrangled a real date out of Kamjiou Touma—I had to revisit my end-of-the-world prediction models for that one, I'll have you know.

Damn it, they brought the apocalypse closer and didn't even realize it. Prepare for the consequences ladies and gentlemen, no one can interfere in someone else's personal life and remain unpunished, wait for the angry Goddesses to decide to take revenge on you.

It was still pretty early, all told. The golden glow to the room suggested that the sun had just finished rising on the horizon, meaning he had lots of time to bask in this feeling of warmth.

And weight. Curious.

He raised his head to look down his chest.

A sleeping Lisa was there, lying sideways across his stomach. Her arms and legs sprawled out unreservedly, as if striving to claim as much space as possible. One of her hands clutched at his shirt, with the fabric bunched up under her fingers, and a line of drool trailed down the corner of her lips.

It seemed the two of them had failed to reach a resolution to that battle for the bed, and so just fell asleep after becoming too tired.

Jaune briefly entertained the idea of shoving her off the bed again, but laziness stayed his hand and he decided that today he shall be a man of peace, letting her sleep on. That face wasn't fair, anyway. How dare she look so content and carefree.
How adorable, I ship it.

I have to say, the conversation with the Outsider was fascinating. He seems to empathise a lot with Last Order and that's not really something I expected of him, although I've never played the dishonoured games. Unfortunately I feel like they'll continue to find unwilling gods going forwards.

"You had a hand to play in that girl's suffering, true," the Outsider said. "And yet, I cannot help but imagine… If I had someone like you on that day, if the man I once was screamed for help, and a voice called back in answer, saying that everything will be alright." He drew his gaze upward, seeming to mull on matters. "I suppose my thought on this, is that you continue to be a strange one. Hm."
Jaune, for all his fuckups and issues, is a hero at heart. He wants to help others. I suppose even a god can wish they received help at their lowest time

Long story short he started out as a teenage human sacrifice. One bearing all the marks of a Chosen One according to the cultists that kidnapped him, drugged him until he forgot who he was and then ritually sacrificed him on an altair so he could 'become one with the Void'. That's how the Outsider we all know and love was "born". So it's no wonder he sympathises with the Last Order. And you're right, the conversation was as interesting as it was meta.

If they end up in fate, that might just cause a singularity or make the timeline prune itself....

Eh, the Human Order is pretty resilient. As long as the Outsider doesn't push it too far, everything they can do can be naturalized pretty easily, and Alaya is always looking for some way to get closer to the Age of Will, which aura might help with (getting closer to ending the Third Sorcery by bringing it into the domain of humanity).

It would just mean that branch is now further from the main timeline, and thus mildly more susceptible to pruning at the next quantum timelock.

I don't know anything about Magical Index so it was tough to keep track of everything, but hopefully the next world is somewhere I recognize. Thanks for the chapter!
Maybe it would, but if not, it should also be a lot simpler a setting.

I forget, does the toilet auto install and fix itself with attendant plumbing?

If not, poor Jaune is going to bear some unfortunate resemblances to certain looters with a gross lack of understanding of what plumbing does.
Jaune Arc believes he can do anything he sets his mind to, so it will be absolutely no problem at all. Yup.

Now that's an idea! Send them to the Yakuza verse! The shenanigans!!!

Also great saga! Loved their little adventure. And looks like Jaune's getting to know his little guest a bit better. Can't wait for more understanding to deepen. Maybe even for the Outsider too.

And Outsider's thoughts on sacrifice and god making just brought to mind Angry Mango's background. Which brings the idea of a Fate trip full circle.

Can't wait for their break to settle in with their new loot and/or future trip next chap!

Rather glad they didn't take anyone else from Raildex. For now, the duo seems… adequate that idk what characters could have substantially added.
Now, while I would want to, just to shove them all in a karaoke bar together, I was more referring to one of my other story - which, yes, has Yakuza flavors in RWBY.
It hasn't had a chapter in 3 weeks or so, and I want to get it done.
Good to hear you enjoyed the story. And yeah, most Raildex characters would have been a hard fit for the group. They're generally powerful enough to steal the show entirely.

Wonder if Crowley left any suprises behind? Surely not? He is such a trust worthy fellow.

Eh, honestly I doubt it, Tattletale would have noticed something, maybe.
His games aren't always malicious.

If they end up in fate, that might just cause a singularity or make the timeline prune itself....
Fate really would need a bit of handwaving to make a story arc there work.

Man… they are adorable!
I can feel the qq draining out of my soul….
Nurse, prepare the lewd injection, stat!
...maybe I'd put in an Omake one of these days for that, since scenes in the actual plot aren't going to be for a while.
'What if scenario: Jaune brought Sundancer home instead of Tattletale'
'What if scenario: Jaune went for the Awakening Bell belowground, and meets hot spiderlady'
'What if scenario: Jaune x the Outsider'...wait, maybe not this one.

Okay, first off, that's brilliant. I very much would like to see those interactions.
Unfortunately, as said above, I meant one of my other stories.
It needs updating! Pronto!

A Misaka sister could have worked, I think, just for her deadpan snark reactions.

That was trully the most improbable of all the things they did in this universe.
It might also kickstart a war, now that I think about it. Every other woman in that mess, gunning to kill Misaka.

Honestly? Probably the best thing they could have done for Academy City would have been to slaughter these dudes.

I think as a light novel meant for teenagers, it really draws on that adult/kid dichotomy, where the adults are just a little more unreasonable than they should be to make them the bad guys for the kids to battle. The author seemed to recognize it at some point, and does a neat thing where it's sort of acknowledged through the story to be unnatural, since that overly dumb condescension towards those who are younger tend to only happen with people from Academy City. It's a cultivated mindset, almost. A culture that developed to think of children as objects to be shaped, controlled, tested at a whim.

Damn it, they brought the apocalypse closer and didn't even realize it. Prepare for the consequences ladies and gentlemen, no one can interfere in someone else's personal life and remain unpunished, wait for the angry Goddesses to decide to take revenge on you.
Lol WW3 in the story will no longer be about science vs magic, but a battle royale over Touma.

How adorable, I ship it.

My favorite thing out of the Dishonored games, was the Outsider. He's just interesting. That overwhelming sense of wanting to be a part of life, but forced to stand on the outside looking in. And now to see someone in circumstances so similar to his worst moment...
