The Music Thread

If you've ever wondered what it means to boogie woogie:

I've found this by accident through a video that was showing various potential influences for Doom E1M1:

I want to see this saved forever. The PSO2 game final hit its ending in JP and we got Dark to Light, a power ballad as the final boss theme, as someone described it.

The third part is especially something (11 minutes in).

Just, fucking god damn.
I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to reach the final boss and have that come out of nowhere for the fight.
I don't even play the game, but I'm still crying after listening it and reading the lyrics (but I have weird emotional responses so it could be just me).
Just, it feels like it's so brilliant of a culmination for everything for the players to me.

Idk, maybe that's just my weird ass take on/response to it that doesn't make sense.

Thank you for posting it anyway.

You pretty much nailed it.

That last bit at the end? It's more common. It usually start when a raid boss is close to being defeated. And in this case, for this final fight, they added lyrics to it. Just for extra icing on that cake.

Tool being something of a meme because of the fanbase is pretty unfortunate because they really can write some amazing stuff. Lateralus as an album still kicks ass nearly 20 years on.

highly inappropriate music for the site cumming right up

and then for those who want a taste of a second dose

it's weird i know but it's kinda good

Say what you want about the rest of this movie but, disco orcs are thing that deserves to be heard.

Edit: switched to a better video

One of my favorite songs, off one of my favorite albums.

For dudes who pioneered fast and technical death metal, Morbid Angel wrote some kickass slow songs. Just pure crushing riffs.
