[X] A library
[X] A Town
[X] Orchards

Ow, only 5 XP for several months. That is really slow progress, even if it is understandable.

For choices I think a library is a must- studying seems to be one of the more likely ways to gain exp, and if nothing else it will let us study skills to teach Autumn Shade and Mountain Peak Blossom.

Gardens would be nice to have to make Mountain Peak Blossom happy, but don't seem useful besides that. Same for Orchards with Autumn Shade. Both of those are options I'd love to get, but it doesn't seem like we really have the choices for.

A town seems like another possibility to gain XP. Interacting with people and potentially getting quests of some kind (assuming those are a thing in world, haven't seen them yet, so not to likely) both seem like they could be potential methods for gaining XP. If nothing else it seems more likely to get event skills than the other choices.

Staff seems similar to the town vote, just smaller scale, and without as much potential for hostility. Hostility being either because of Little Bees looks, or just general suspicion either one. I think I'd prefer to go with the town vote over this one honestly.

The lake vote seems like it could get some XP for fishing and otherwise be used for relaxing. Other than that not a lot I can think to do with it, and it being away from the estate presumably makes it harder to get to since Little Bee is crippled and all.

And as I was typing this Darkened said to have 3 choices, that makes it easier since I don't have to decide between lake and town. Was very much leaning towards town, but having both is nice. Also seems he added a write in option, I'll have to watch in case anyone comes up with something good for that.

Edit: 2 things- shouldn't Autumn Shades age have gone up by 1 to, since we got him right at the start of the quest and it has been a year since then, and has Mountain Peak Blossom always known Regrowth 1? I know Little Bee's regrowth doesn't have a number, never noticed Mountain Peak Blossom's did though.

I am pretty sure that when our pet gains XP we also gain XP (E.G, all three of us share XP gained by any one of us). Darkened, can we have a ruling there?

Actually could be- looks like Autumn Shade and Mountain Peak Blossom both earned 5 XP too. Even so I don't see how gardens or Orchards could lead to XP without us basically working as a farmer class for it. That seems like it would rely on our strength a lot, and with the crippling effects it wouldn't be that good of a source.

The point is that Autumn shade gaining XP in the orchards, or Moutain Peak in the gardens, would lead to Little B gaining XP by proxy.

This is correct.

Yes to both.

[X] A library: Your estate has an extensive library, unusual for a country mansion.
[X] Gardens: The gardens are large and beautiful, growing both flowers and many delicious vegetables. Mountain Peak Blossom might like it there.
[X] Orchards: Your estate is famous for its apples. Autumn would love running through the vast orchards.

POSSIBLE THIRD BOND AND/OR TIME TO TRAIN FRIENDSHIP BOND!
VOTE LAKE, IT'S THE RIGHT VOTE!

The best way to have Little B getting a whole slew of studied skill by the time she is ready to gain back XP again.

Autumn is more adventurous than Moutain Peak, and lower level. Not only It would be easy for him to gain XP there (giving little B XP) but Autumn really won't like being cooped up without being able to play for so long, while Moutain Peak has been shown as being alright with being with us.

[X] Staff: All estates will have a few staff members and someone to see to your health, but this one has a good deal more than just a few servants to manage, including a few your own age.
Socialization. We seriously, seriously need Little B to be able to live, here, not just be cooped up reading all day every days. Give her a little bit of joy and to flex her (badly burned) charisma. Let her see people and learn how to be a teenage girl a bit.

Library's obvious. I'm willing to buy into the "let Autumn Shade gain exp" plan. Town, though - it really would be worthwhile for us to have people to interact with - give events and microquests and so forth. Also, socialization.

*grumbles grumbles* I might need to switch my Staff vote to Town if this continues *grumbles grumbles*....
I do think Staff is better because it represent the luxury/'new life' of Little bee, while Town is a bit more about reconnecting with her street-rats roots.

The people who live in a smallish manor town are not going to be at all like the street rats in the slums of a city.

Let us begin this sordid tale.
So far it's about what I expected, but at least now we have a kickass mansion.

>mfw theres a write in option

[] A Mystical Forest: A venerable forest stands nearby, providing a source of lumber and trade for the town. Your aide hints that magical creatures and places can be found deeper inside.
[] A library: Your estate has an extensive library, unusual for a country mansion.
[] A Town: No estate is truly that far from a settlement, but yours is practically in a town. There will be plenty of ways to slip out and interact with children your own age, if the locals will let you.

Town is kind of a long game option, at first I was going to go with Staff for the friendship angle, but the extra uncertainty in town might help us become better adjusted (plus you know, all the random resources a town brings). Kind of risky... so I'll continue to ponder it.

Library is library.

The Mystical Forest is my gambit for a place that provides long term options for training and events. In the short term I'm hoping for it to be a place our pets can explore and train at without getting too in over their heads and in the long term a source for new friendships and cool places.... maybe even that hot spring that I didn't pick *cough cough*
Combined with the Town, I'm hoping that it will serve as an attraction for adventuring types (*cough cough peach blossom cough cough*)

Another write in option for me was Hot Springs for its rejuvenating properties and such, but it eventually lost out to FOREST and LIBRARY.

If I was going with another vote set, it would probably be, STAFF, ORCHARD, LAKE. (rip hot spring)

Something to note about the orchard and the garden: They're both tamed and cultivated areas. There's nothing stopping us from letting Autumn go into the normal non-moderately magical forest except the possibility he won't come back one day, I don't think adding more magic fixes that issue.

Have I missed a mention of a forest near the estate we are being sent to? can't find it.

I'm assuming that walking in one direction away from the mansion will eventually bring you to an uncleared area, and I would find it noteworthy if this isn't the case.

I imagine that we'll learn more about the surroundings after we pick, as it will largely depend on what we pick (and what we don't).

I don't know if there is a forest, but there will at least be some form of wilderness.
Not that it's guaranteed to be interesting wilderness of course.

Alas. It was a beautiful dream.
k, going for the PEACE SPECIAL vote

At least Autumn can get a place to stretch his legs.
Lake is good for DAT SWIMMIN too
Staff for safe socialization.

well, I've mentioned on the IRC, but for posterity, I'm done. Bye.

Darkened would it be possible to make at least my []Staff vote change to []Town if it's losing? Honestly I think it would be better if both of those were under a 'Socialising' header, and the more voted of the two won (as long as socialising wins) as it seems they are very similar and they might hurt each other's chance of winning (and I doubt anyone wants both).

We need challenges to earn XP, but there's not much we can do physically.

What about a gambling ring? Could we get a gambling in our new village/town? What about an arena for our pet monsters? What about vibrant theater community, so that we can put our charisma to use? Can we vote for those things?

For XP gain Little Bee doesn't need to do a thing physically. What she needs to do is discover challenges that Autumn and Blossom can do that will generate XP for themselves. Stuff that won't necessarily involve combat, but will stress and push them to new heights. The library is going to be good for discovering stuff Little Bee can put them through.

My guess is that is also what the Garden and the Orchard are for primarily. To provide places they can gain XP naturally.

In the near future Little Bee is going to need to learn how to rely on her beasts almost exclusively. We had a chance to be the head of the pack, and we decided against it. For now? We lead from the rear.
