Vote Thread for Ack's Omake Corner

Consider this, friend: you have five more votes. Maybe go for that good old, "It Gets Worse" or maybe "Alea Iacta Es."

Help ALL the stories you like. Or maybe Junior Hero, that one's been in the dumps for a while.
It Gets Worse isn't a voting option and Alea Iacta Est is already a pretty popular story. And it's fine to only vote for one story if that's the one someone is most interested in.

For some reason "It Gets Worse" and "All Alone" are the same in my head. Dummy me.

Fine, to only vote for one, yeah, but mainly I wanted something to say so I felt like I was participating in the conversation of this thread.

Would you please vote for other underdog stories.

Not a voting option. But that's a good thing, because it means that Ack works on it whenever he feels like working on it and it updates much faster, instead of having to wait until it wins a round.
Please Give your vote to a underdog story.

"Vote for underdog stories" is identical to "Vote for stories most people don't like". Speaking as someone who has voted for "underdog stories" in the past, why would one deliberately vote for a story they do not like just because other people don't like it either?

Hell the only reason I tended to fill in all six votes is so that people don't harass me to use my unused vote for something else. This is a zero-sum competition between the stories, if someone cares to see only one or two stories updated faster, it would make sense for them to use only one or two votes. I'll cast just 4 votes this time, just to make my point.

Honestly I wish I could vote to not vote for them, so that some of them just fall off the list altogether

That still depends on whether or not falling off the list means that a story will be completely abandoned, or if it just means that Ack will work on them whenever feels like it. As was mentioned when the possibility of having RBE fall off the list was discussed, if it's the latter then the underdog stories might actually update faster, but if it's the former than every story has its fans who won't want to see it go. Someone should really PM Ack about this.

Honestly, if they can't spare a vote every few cycles when it's warned that it's in danger, I'm not sure how interested they really are in them. And I say that while mirrorverse and confrontation are some of the ones I'm voting the hardest for

How often is it that a story get no votes? I'm only aware of the Round 93, when RBE got zero votes. It seems like even the least popular stories get at least ten votes per round.

Wyvern 1029

[If you want to know which of these stories is NSFW, check the first post of the thread..]

Looking good so far, except that Security! and I, Panacea look to be coming in ahead of Confrontation II and possibly even Meet the Heberts.

And it's Slippery Slope by a good 30-point margin over Security!. After that, it's likely to be Meet the Heberts, I, Panacea and Confrontation II, in no particular order.

Check out Jim Starluck 's spreadsheet for a reasonable prediction.

Note also that the vote counting script given to me by Throne3d was of huge assistance.

Anyway, thanks again for voting, and I hope you enjoy reading the stories as much as I enjoy writing them.

For anyone who hasn't voted on this thread before, the voting rules go as follows:

1) UP TO six votes. I will not count anything extra, and a write-in will likely be ignored (if I want to write a different story, I will, but at my own discretion). Suggestions are welcome, but I am under no obligation to carry them out. And just remember, the more stories I am writing, the longer it will take for your favourites to roll back around.
2) First vote is worth six points, second is worth five, and so on.
3) You can't vote twice on the same story. The voting code will count the last vote and ignore previous ones.
4) If I say "Voting is CLOSED", then this post comes up, with "Voting is OPEN" at the bottom, then you can vote again.
5) If I say "Voting will continue", it's still the same voting period. Voting has not restarted. You can not vote a second time.
6) If you vote for a story that is not on the voting list, those point(s) will go to the story that got the least number of vote points that round.

Vote format looks like this:

[X] Alea Iacta Est - 6
[X] I, Panacea - 5
[X] Security! - 4
[X] Recoil - 3
[X] Trump Card - 2
[X] NSW - 1

Specifically: SQUARE brackets around an X, one space, and please spell at least the first word of the name of the story properly. Number of voting points comes last. Please try to format your vote properly, so as not to confuse the vote counter.

Thank you.

Voting is OPEN.
