...I thought it was closer to 2-3. Ugh. It seems that we might yet see only 9 or 8 stories left in the voting before Slippery Slope stops being an option. It's hard enough to find a full 6-option vote as it is.

Indeed, strategic voting or not voting is quite valid to get the stories you want to update more often.

For Example, if you really want Slippery Slope (which is currently getting the second least votes on average) and Recoil and Wyvern (the top 2), you would be well served to only vote for Slippery slope with your 6. If you vote 6 slippery slope, 5 recoil, 4 Wyvern you ensure lots of Recoil and Wyvern with not a lot of slippery slope.

Of course, if everyone's voting habits change the votes you need to make to get what you want will need to change as well.

Of note, if everyone voted for the same 6 stories with the same rate, there would be a repeating pattern of 17 wins. 4 updates for each story getting 4, 5, and 6; 2 updates for 2 and 3, and one update for the 1 vote.

*Recoil is my personal favorite, so it kinda hurts to vote it lower, but with Sleepyfoo's explanation of how voting works, I kind of want to see some of the less released stories pop up more often. Yes, even with the crazy ending of that latest chapter of Recoil. Which was so good!

For anyone who hasn't voted on this thread before, the voting rules go as follows:

1) UP TO six votes. I will not count anything extra, and a write-in will likely be ignored (if I want to write a different story, I will, but at my own discretion). Suggestions are welcome, but I am under no obligation to carry them out. And just remember, the more stories I am writing, the longer it will take for your favourites to roll back around.
2) First vote is worth six points, second is worth five, and so on.
