It's been happening in the middle of the day now. Couldn't access for a while there.

Rickroll in Japanese, with the music performed in anime OP pop style. Honestly good enough to listen to, at least the once.
 
is the hosting provider trying to get QQ to shut down for some reason ?
doubt the admins wants these problems so it has to be something else ?
 
I'll be honest, I don't know if this has its own thread or there's a specific place to go for this, but I haven't been able to find anything for that.

So I have to ask... why the fuck does QQ keep crashing?

It's just been happening so often lately, that it's honestly making me kind of worried about the site.

This would ordinarily be a fairly simple fix… except we identified our current host as being behind the email service issues that QQ has been having a couple weeks back, which means it's currently in-progress to look for new hosting to fix the email issues. The admins cleaned out some old junk data that hopefully will allow the server backups to not offline the site… we'll see at 900 UTC. Not a long term solution, but hopefully it works till we determine if we're going to switch server hosts.

I like to think any tricks I choose to be are a little classier than a classic rickroll or some random shock video.

It is what you expected though, "Never gonna give you up" but in competent japanese, and set as if it was an anime intro to various anime.

I like to think that I am doing my part in the "Always check strange links before clicking" war.


And yes, I agree that one of those server popups on top of the page would help soothe and assure the anxious masses that their pornography will not vanish.

TLDR on why server bork:

Disk space is low, and now gets to 100% when server backups bell rings to wake up the scribe hamsters, the lack of space kills the database thingimabloob so the space needs to be clared up and a fresh supply of hamsters need to be reintroduced manually tot he sql wheel and scriptorium.

Woe be unto the writer that just finished 10000 and the only copy was in the forum reply box at such time.

A lot of stuff in the image threads and CYOA threads would be lost semi-permanently or permanently if you wiped the cache; a lot of the original stuff QQ's proxying isn't there anymore (e.g. imgur porn).
