It's really strange that there's so few doujins where the male is handsome and manipulative, has multiple girlfriends behind each others' backs but doesn't hurt their feelings and maintains affectionate bonds, etc. though it seems like this happens far more in real life than some improbable shit about shy childhood friend getting true love or some ugly bastard succeeding in blackmail.

But in western comics, the attractive male as a the male character happens more than some gloomy dumbass or some fat bastard (of course, it still happens, but it's rarer). I don't understand this contrast.

In the interests of not necroing the actual thread - I stumbled upon The Health Code Violations this morning and really enjoyed it. I liked the way you got inside both characters' heads and made it clear what was going on between them without telling it outright. The juxtaposition of two unreliable narrators, both of whom are gay idiots, is very fun. Thanks!

Ironically, when Mercury left retrograde, I actually got the epiphany and inspiration I wanted and felt coming regarding writing, that I talked about so many times. It means a few things are going to change going forward, since it's very much a top-to-bottom shift in how I approach writing in general, as well as content and areas of posting.
