I saw this pretty good gamer type story where it's sort of like danmachi, but only the MC can treat the world as a game, and everyone else is an NPC or a mob, but they all have intelligence, and monsters respawn, so they are considered yaoguai, and dungeons/instances are called secret realms

it's actually "they want to despawn" because they've been out of place for too long, and gained too much consciousness compared to their natural state, so it wasn't some sinister scheme to invade the human world by monsters, but they were also victims that couldn't die

Finally finished my Elden Ring playthrough and decided to check out Lord of Sunlight. It's honestly one of my favorite fanfics. I would put it in my top 3, definitely. As a first-timer with no real idea of what to specialize in, I just made Shivers my signature skill because (as I understood it at the time) it's the precog skill. Hoping it'll pay off later, but I have no clue.

Ah. You got it mixed up with Inland Empire which is the skill that cognitively recognizes supernatural.

Shivers is physically recognizing the supernatural, and is mostly fluff, from my understanding.

It doesn't offer much technical use, but gives a cooler story experience.
