The Arcs routinely send care packages to Jaune and his team, filled with food, drink and sweets including cultural dishes and favorite foods for Pyrrha, Ren, and Nora.

It's all fun and games until Team RWBY find out when Jaune offers Ruby a homemade cookie and a piece of pie during a midnight snack binge.

You know, having something sour and a bit savory, often enhances the candy or another sweet experience.

Even Spiciness can do that if paired up with above two mentioned flavors. Like the fruit street vendors of my hometown, cut up some Guava, sprinkle some red pepper and salt, mix it in a bag and that makes for a really good snack.

So I think Ruby is possibly missing out on some good stuff. Especially if it's like one of those sugary candy wrapped in some red pepper powder? Oooh that sounds good.

So funny thing...Miles admits that, with benefit of hindsight, he kind of regrets that they made Jaune the ignorant yokel at the beginning of Beacon in order to explain Aura and Huntsmen to the audience. Especially since Oscar would be added later on (at that point, Oscar was simply a theorethical concept as Ozpin's new host; not even a concept art or even name was in the works yet).

It gets even crazier that Miles also admits that if he would assign a specialty to Jaune or say what Jaune's greatest talent would be: it is Aura Manipulation. Especially since Aura Amp also gives an instinctive idea of how to move and harness one's Aura as a passive effect/required secondary superpower (hence why Jaune could instantly use it minutes after activation).

I'm one of those people who believes Remnant isn't too adventurous with its cooking.

There's plenty of pasta and sandwiches and pizza mostly because those things have a million variations and you can reuse ingredients across the board.

But some things they aren't willing to go out of their way for. So things like Mexican spiced chocolate? Nobody has really considered because they don't wanna waste supplies with experimentation.

Hell even stuff like fireball candies on remnant are most likely a accident when making a different candy. Too much cinnamon added during the process leading to the discovery.

Yeah, I am familiar with this. That was one of my inspirations for making Jaune's family backstory. It's possible Isabel and Nick both knew that Jaune would pick up anything Aura related very quickly once it was unlocked. Hence why Isabel was fine with waiting on unlocking it until he got to medical school.

But neither of them expected him to go to Beacon without his Aura being unlocked. They underestimated how crazy determined their son could get... Which they really should have seen coming, given the crazy stuff they did when they were his age.

You know, this story beat of Jaune being the Aura expert makes a lot of sense both in the later show writing and Jaune's character.

Vine hinted that Jaune should be able to extend his Aura, so we can possible see a situation where he can do

A) Long distance targeted boosting, healing of a person.

B) Do an AOE circle that acts not only as a healing spell, Boosting effect but also as a Shield/Barrier. Like Joan's Noble Phantasm from FGO.

If we think about it, he can truly take the tank position even against Salem and still retain his support role for Team RWBY.

Like constantly amping himself and taking all the punishment away from his team and when his team does go on the offensive he can cast basically long range super powered support spells or make an impenetrable barrier to protect them.

And if he gets really pissed? Like a real tank he could probably let off a really large damage attack by condensing his Amplified Aura in a single large scale attack.

The Beacon courtyard buzzed with the chatter of students, the air crisp with the scent of blooming flowers and polished armor. Jaune Arc, still stinging from his cringeworthy antics at the dance, had been working hard to be a better friend—especially to Weiss Schnee, whose rejections had left him wincing at his past self. So when he spotted her in a heated argument with Flynt Coal, an Atlasian exchange student with a sharp tongue and sharper hat, Jaune's first instinct was to charge in, shield raised. But Pyrrha's advice echoed in his mind—assess the situation—and he hung back, watching from the edge of the fountain.

Flynt's voice cut through the air, laced with venom. "You just strut around like you're the queen of everything, when your father stole everything he ever got!"

Weiss's posture stiffened, her ice-blue eyes flashing, but her voice wavered. "I'm sorry that my father did that! It—It was business, but—"

"But what?" Flynt snapped, leaning in. "You don't have anything to do with it?!"

"I-!"

"You aren't benefiting from it?!" Flynt demanded.

Jaune's fists clenched, but he held steady, his mind racing.

Wow, Pyrrha was right. Taking a moment to assess the situation is great… Okay then…

"Except she didn't," Jaune said, stepping forward with a calm but firm tone.

Flynt's glare swung to him, his trumpet case swinging at his side, while Weiss's head whipped around, her expression a mix of surprise and relief. Jaune met Flynt's eyes, undaunted.

"She couldn't have anything to do with her father's decisions! You're just lashing out at her because you can't get to her dad!"

Flynt bristled, his voice sharp. "Listen, White Knight, you don't have any—!"

"She's a good person!" Jaune cut in, his voice steady, his blue eyes blazing. "I know her well enough to know that! And she didn't do anything, so what does that make you?!"

The courtyard seemed to hold its breath. Flynt's glare burned, but Jaune didn't flinch, his stance solid. After a tense moment, Flynt sucked in a breath, his shoulders slumping as he nodded slowly. He turned to Weiss, his voice softer.

"…I'm sorry. He's right."

Weiss blinked, her mouth parting.

"What?"

"I just… I've been so angry for so long, I wanted something to lash out at," Flynt admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. "But it's not fair to you. Can… can we start over? I'm Flynt Coal, and it's nice to meet you."

Weiss hesitated, then took a deep breath, her composure returning as she extended a hand. "I'm Weiss Schnee. It's a pleasure."

Flynt reached out and took her hand respectfully.

He glanced at Jaune, a grudging respect in his eyes.

"Thanks, man. That was pretty cool."

Jaune flushed, shrugging awkwardly.

"Just… you know… trying to be a good friend."

Weiss's gaze softened, her voice gentle.

"Well… thank you, Jaune. Flynt and I need to talk…?"

"Oh, uh, sure," Jaune said, backing off with a quick wave before heading toward the dorms. He smiled to himself: He was doing better. Being a good friend!

Later, in the bustling Beacon cafeteria, the clatter of trays and laughter filled the air as Team JNPR dug into lunch. Jaune was mid-bite of a sandwich when Weiss approached, her heels clicking with purpose. Team RWBY trailed behind, Yang smirking, Ruby nibbling a cookie, and Blake scanning the room like a wary cat.

"Jaune?" Weiss said, her voice bright. "I wanted to thank you again for helping me with Flynt."

Jaune swallowed, his grin lopsided. "Oh, um, you're welcome. I just wanted to help. Things going okay?"

"Great, actually!" Weiss beamed, her hands clasped. "He asked me on a date… and I accepted!"

Jaune's sandwich paused halfway to his mouth, his eyes widening.

"Oh… Oh. Um… Th-That's great."

"Isn't it?" Weiss said, her smile radiant. "And it's all thanks to you!"

Jaune's heart sank, but he forced his smile to hold, his voice strained but kind.

"You… you betcha…"

Weiss turned and headed off with a skip in her step, oblivious to the shadow crossing Jaune's face. Pyrrha's hand brushed his arm, her emerald eyes soft with concern, while Nora leaned over, whispering loudly, "Don't worry, Jaune-Jaune! We'll find you a better princess!"

Ren sighed, sipping his tea. Ruby winced and reached out to pat Jaune's shoulder, while Yang grinned-Though there was sympathy in her gaze.

"Tough break, Vomit Boy," she said, "But there's more fish in the sea."

Jaune's smile wavered, but he nodded, his voice barely audible. "Yeah… tough break…"

"Or you could share," Blake suggested. Every stared at her. She blinked and lightly blushed.

"Sorry. Should have kept that thought to myself."

"You seriously need a boyfriend, Kit-Kat," Yang sighed. She brightened. "Hey Ladykiller! You got Weisscream with Flynt! What do you say-Wanna go two for two?"

"That would require Jaune-Jaune to have a crush on Blake first!" Nora said cheerfully. Her eye brightened. "Wait! This solves both problems at once!"

"No it doesn't!" Jaune and Pyrrha shouted.

Blake hummed and shrugged.

"It might?"

Fun idea, but why would Team JNPR not bring back gifts for RWBY? They are friends aren't they, good ones even without any toxic parts to the relationship?
So what kind of unique and special (possibly magical) gifts would they take with them and give to RWBY?

It's also worth remembering that it isn't just Jaune bringing back gifts, but Ren (calm and stoic), Nora (hyperactive maniac that enjoys breaking knees and shooting rockets), and Pyrrha (a gladiator child-superstar who might see them as romantic rivals (or might want to drag them into a polygamous relationship with her love interest)) too.

That still makes JNPR look like a bunch of jerks, if they literally need to be asked to take presents for their best friends (and are giving presents to bullies/ex-bullies like Cardin), rather than just choosing to find/buy some stuff that they think their friends would enjoy.
They're gifts, you're not supposed to be asked to directly asked to give them to your best friends, rather than just giving them because you like and appreciate the other person.

Personally, it would also be a lot funnier (and wholesome) if JNPR just gives RWBY a bunch of special, exotic, unique, or outright magical gifts every single time, while RWBY just simply not knowing where they came from (cause they're all just kinda dense/stupid) or maybe they are somewhat confused where they got gifts like that.
Or that they were simply so happy with the incredibly good/perfect gifts that they completely forget to question how they were even able to get something like that (especially in case of the clearly magical things).

There is the sound of something breaking. Everyone looks over at Nora, who dropped a plate of pancakes. Nora sobs.

Nora: "NOOOOO! My pancakes!"

Jaune: "It's okay, it's okay Nora! I'll make you some more! Ren, you just relax."

Ruby: "But the Romanlan episode is next!"

Jaune: "It's cool, I've seen it a dozen times!"

Weiss: "So it's worse than the Spirk's Brain episode?"

After the episode...

Weiss: "That... Was really good!"

Yang: "Yeah, the third season is all over the place. Sometimes it's really amazing, other times it's... Spirk's brain."

Blake: "I like the complex relationship between the Romanlan Commander and Spirk. Lots of nuance."

Jaune: comes in with a plate of pancakes with chocolate sprinkles and whipped cream "Here you go, Nora."

Nora: gasp "YAY!" She takes it and digs in happily "MmmMmmm~! Delicious~!"

Ren: tenses a bit

Ren: relaxes "I do appreciate the Vulcanians and the Romanlans, and their complex relationship."

Ruby: "I liked the cloaking device the most! So cool! Scotty's my hero!"

Jaune: "Scotty is super cool."

Yang: "And it was hilarious how Captain Irk had to pretend he was insane as cover for the mission."

Weiss: "Not like Bill Hatner could do anything less but chew the scenery..."

Ruby: "MORE EPISODES!"

Jaune: "All right!"

They finish the series...

Weiss: "... So a woman swapped bodies with Captain Irk... To prove she could be a Starship Commander... And was totally insane... And that's the last episode? The series finale?"

Jaune: "Yeeeeah... They were hoping for a fourth season but failed."

Yang: "And it's contradicted by all the future series... But then again, this chick was totally insane so you could just write her off like that. I mean, she was totally bonkers!"

Ruby: "I liked the previous episode as a series finale better! The time travel stuff was great!"

Jaune: "It is good... But... I dunno, Star Trek time travel is weird. I always feel weird about that."

Yang: "Pfft! Relax, Stud!" He sits next to her, and she cuddles up to him "It's not like every film has time travel."

Weiss: "Wait... Films? What films?"

Ruby: "... I KNOW WHAT WE'RE WATCHING NEXT!"

Jaune: "Oh. Since they're not metal... Yeah... So! Where is it?"

Pyrrha: "RENNNN!"

Jaune: sighs "All right, come on. I'll treat it."

Pyrrha: brrrriiiiiight red "B-B-B-But-!"

Nora: "That's right, your butt!"

A very embarassing bit of medical treatment by Jaune later... And their arrival at Beacon...

Jaune: "There! How do you feel now, Pyrrha?"

Pyrrha: bright red "M-M-Much better!"

Nora: "You mean... Butt-er? Eh? Ehhhhh?"

Jaune: "Leave the bad jokes to Yang, Nora?"

Yang: "HEY! They are not bad jokes! So, what happened?"

Nora: "Oh! Pyrrha got injured and Jaune-Jaune healed her! He's super good at medicine!"

Weiss: "He is?"

Ruby: "Really?!"

Blake: "Wow. How well trained are you?"

Jaune: "Um, well... My mom was training me to get into Ambrose Pare Medical University."

Weiss: "What?! That's the finest medical school in Vale! You were training for that?! PLEASE!"

Pyrrha: "Jaune is very-very good at medicine! I feel amazing!"

Yang: "Ohhh? What was injured?"

Ruby: "Yeah! You look fine!"

Pyrrha: "Ummm..."

Jaune: sternly "That's confidential information, Yang. She's my patient and teammate."

Pyrrha: relaxes, smiles gratefully at Jaune

Weiss: "Well... At least you're responsible."

Ruby: "So, I guess everything was just fine in the end, huh?"

A pause. Pyrrha turns bright red, as Jaune does too.

Nora: "Pyrrha's rear end!"

Jaune: "NORA!"

Nora: "I'M SORRYYYY!"

What other fun stuff could Medical!Trained Jaune get up to? Some ideas:

-Weiss is skeptical of his medical training and keeps trying to prove he's a fraud. And while he's a fraud in getting into Beacon, he is actually pretty good at medical training. Again, he's good at lots of things aside from what he really wants to be.

-Blake has an ear infection in her cat ears but she's too proud and afraid to admit it. Jaune though notices it and tries to convince her to let him treat her problem. Hilarity ensues.

-Aura doesn't protect from flu or other illnesses, just makes the recovery easier. So when anyone gets sick, Jaune is on nursemaid duty.

Depending on what you say aura does, it should protect you, but indirectly. If aura enhances the properties of the persons body then it should by extension improve the performance of your immune response. Meaning that aura awoken individuals should never never actually get sick from anything. The only exception might be parasites but only if they get too big which wouldn't even happen in the first place.

Edit: Though it will only be effective inside the body so anything going on where places the immune system can't reach (like Blake's ear getting infected, or anything going on inside the brain (well somewhat, it's limited in response but not 0)) would still be dangerous.

JNPR bring back awesome gifts for RWBY, only they all look like mundane crap and RWBY just chuck them in the closet.
