Sorry to derail this prompt but I was taking a trip down the memory avenue and remembered that one of the reasons that Issei Hyoudo's Parents in highschool dxd don't beat his ass is because he was born to them after 2 miscarriages and a special trip to the Ise shrine in Japan. That's how he got his name as well.

So Jaune's story could be like that, it took a divine miracle for them to get a stable pregnancy for a son and they are understandably protective of him.

That's what I also proposed like a long way back on the this thread as well.

If I got the world building in this thread straight, Jaune used to be really sick in his childhood but then he started to recover later and got the idea to be a huntsman.

Jaune, as mentioned earlier in the thread, is a very good cook. Blake, having spent most of her life in the White Fang, is just a little ignorant that there're more ways to prepare fish than just frying, grilling, and sushi, and that there's more fish than just generic tuna cuts and sardines.

Hilarity ensues when she finds Jaune making his team a fish dinner.

Blake: "Tuna...steak? What is this...tuna steak?"
Blake: "Wait, what's a marinade rub?"
Blake: "Sear? That just looks like frying..."
Blake: "Wait, why is he giving it to them and not me?!"

Weiss: "Jaune! Go to your food room and get me a slice of that cake Pyrrha's having!"
Jaune: "My what now?"
Ruby: "Cake?"
Weiss: *impatiently* "Yes, that's what you do in the food room, isn't it? You go in and you bring out food. That's why it's called a food room and yours has more than ours."
Ruby: "Lots?"
Jaune: "You...you do realize I actually have to bake them right?"

Had a idea to crank Ruby's protagonist aura up to almost max. How you ask?

By giving the silver eyes genetic memory.

Imagine being a newborn and knowing intimately the face of the devil and that she's going to want you personally dead or worse.

Other than the memory of Salem I'd say have the silver genetic memory record skills of every silver eyed warrior that was dead before she was born (so she won't b get maria and summers skills but the rest of silver history is fair game). It's not a exact thing, shes not gonna suddenly have thousands of hours of memories practicing these. But learning the skills will be quicker and feel more like shaking the rust off.

I don't remember where, nor do I remember what fandom it was, but there was a fic that gave a reason for the mental instability of genetic memory users. It's too stupid/funny not to share.

I don't remember the fic, but I swear it was StarGate SG1. O'Niell said it regarding Goa'uld.

Considering a large chunk of where I read by SG1 fics, I'd say it is from Dogbertcarroll.
