    To everyone who reads and enjoys my smutfics, I apologise in advance.

    Yesterday, I was accused (on another site) of being something I most decidedly am not, based on the fact that I've written quite an amount of underage smutfic and posted it to QQ and AO3. The accusation was shocking and came from more than one person, and it took me awhile to even be able to think rationally about it.

    There are apparently people who, having read both my SFW and NSFW work, have decided that even my pure-as-the-driven-snow SFW works are skeevy by association and are warning others about my fics, sight unseen. And they have, as mentioned above, unkind opinions of me.

    In short, what happens in Vegas apparently doesn't stay in Vegas.

    With that in mind, and keeping in mind that I want to become a serious writer at some point, I have made the decision (after some soul-searching) to retire my underage smutfics, effective immediately. I've already deleted them from AO3 and I'm working my way through the places where I've got them posted on QQ.

    The last thing I want, after all, is for someone to post a link from one of those fics to a review of one of my novels, and sink it beyond repair.

    Those fics that have a SFW version will remain and continue in those versions, but I'm afraid NSW (which was, frankly, starting to give way to porn-before-plot) and Meet the Heberts are going away.

    I will continue writing all my other fics as per normal, but those particular style of smutfics will be no longer be part of my repertiore.

    Once again, I apologise to everyone.

    AO3 allows downloading stories, so we could have saved a local copy:oops:
     
    Honestly, if they need to go away to protect Ack from future issues, maybe they shouldn't be downloaded. The more copies that are around, the higher the risk is.

    For your sake, I am sorry that this happened to you. I can only imagine how frustrating it is to put so much time and effort into your writing and then have it attacked this way. I just wanted to say that, like many of the people here, I do appreciate the work you do.

    For myself, well, I preferred your SFW writing anyway. :-|

    To be honest, I was wondering where all the AO3 stuff went. I started browsing reddit after your fics got me further into the worm fandom (the sfw ones) started doing some more searching. Found the nsfw and others. But just seeing the prejudice sucked. Reddit just goes to town and its damaging in many ways.

    It's shitty you had to come to this decision, but I hope regardless it works for you. Best of luck, I'll keep reading your works :)

    I'd miss your QQ-only stuff and All Unaware, and I'd be a bit sad that I never got around to NSW and Meet the Heberts; I heard they were pretty good. Hopefully some day things calm down to the extent that you'd be able to post them again. Maybe you should just post them on some out-of-the-way porn-only site, like Scribblehub or UBEA or something.

    That said, if I'd known that the warnings about your fics are so problematic to you, I'd have notified you long ago. To be honest, I thought you'd known for years; after all, they're fairly common on a certain other site you're also active on (I'm not naming it for now).

    As a side-note, would that mean the return of any on-hold fics to the voting list? Because it keeps getting smaller and smaller, and I'm afraid that the next time I consider voting I might not be able to pick out as many as 6 fics I'd want to vote for.

    Im sorry you were forced to do that, it's a lot of work to take all that down and very frustrating. I've always enjoyed your works on both sides of the fence, even if it's not my cup of tea it usually tastes enough like coffee for me to enjoy it. I hope it makes the rest of your work less stressful for you at least.
