Hot damn don't threaten me with a good time. But Lorelai has been characterized as pretty criminal in some adaptations, so I'm unsure how she'd react to him digging a few tunnels. Probably just exasperation

Theres a difference between being a foot soldier or doing independent contract work vs being very high up in the team rocket hierachy and killing innocent people.

You act like the world is black and white. And like that guy said chicks love bad boys that they can try to redeem.

I personally don't mind too much that Brad does odd jobs for Team Rocket. I can't tell you how many times I played Pokemon Reborn and went "You know, why can't I become a member of Team Meteor? Everyone else gets to, so why can't I?" That's why I appreciate Pokemon Rejuvenation more, since you have the option to lead the world to ruin if you feel like.

In Ground Shake's case, it allows Brad an extra degree of freedom to explore different avenues of being a Pokemon trainer, and it adds conflict in terms of what Team Rocket asks and expects of him, and how it would impact his relationships with his other acquaintances (Pryce, Lorelei, etc). Not to mention… Quagsire. We all know how other people feel about him deciding to have Quagsire on his team, imagine how things would play out if his connections to Team Rocket got added on top of that. Or better yet, what if Team Rocket's interest in Ma Ma is a red herring, and they're secretly interested in reproducing the same effects Quagsire underwent on other Pokemon in order to create PMDs (Pokemon of Mystery Destruction)? Or what if Cipher also got word of this whole thing and tried stacking Quagsire's condition on their Shadow Pokemon to create SPMDs (Super Pokemon of Mystery Destruction)?

The possibilities are endless. The idea has so much potential. And that's why I don't mind too much if Main Character Guy works for Team Rocket.

That red herring quagsire theory opens up so many new avenues. But reading between the lines of distain in Mr. dak456's posts. It's not necessarily him working with Rocket that's the problem. It's that he's doing that and at the same time trying to win back Lorilei. Who is basically a governmental body of Johto.

The main issue that people are having is the two-faced facade he's doing lying to this girl and the potential fallout drama ((which personally I hope never comes, i don't think that relationship melodrama really fits into this fics theme)).

If she wasn't in the story, these readers wouldn't care that he is working for Team Rocket.

I guess for me personally, I wasn't really that invested in Brad and Lorelei's relationship. It didn't seem that serious beyond Brad wanting to stick it to Brad Prime for fumbling Lorelei so hard in the past. I could imagine how it might go, in a non-melodramatic fashion.

Taking the wind out of Brad's sails by still having him working for Team Rocket be a big deal, but not for the reason he thinks, making the fact that he kept everything to himself pointless.
